@Skoda130 You could indeed, But you would earn no respect from your fellow VW pistonheads, Why make a new one from scratch when you could preserve a little piece off history. Even drop an R32 in the back and show them evo's and skylines at the track how a 1966 bus can woop there 50k+ cars like nothing. I would do it just to see the priceless look on there faces.
@temcertezadisso In other parts of the world rust kills cars and the survivors are prized. In places with snow, good luck finding a rust-free car that's over 20 years old.

@Skoda130 Lol i'v seen a lot worse than this be restored, it's not how much rot they got, it's how much money you are willing to spend.

@buchan2 Oh, okay.. Sure, if you have enough money to spend, you could even build one out of scratch.

@buchan2 If you want to save a piece of history, you'd better keep it original, without fancy engines and suspension tricks.

Wow, you really give much value to this car, here in Brazil is easy to find a street, even being used by traders.

HAHAHAHA
Although not quite understanding what you said, I agree.
Brazil is by having a warm climate, it is easier to keep a car.
Cars with more than 30 years in Brazil abound ...
