I had a neglectful mother myself, abusive even, and in my personal experience I was never "helped" by a psychologist. Schools don't employ psychologists, I believe you're confusing them with counselors, who have been of more help to me. And yes, children shouldn't be accountable for others actions, but they shouldbe held accountable for their own, and this young man clearly just did not care. That's my opinion.
