The last time I talked to my favourite cousin, when he called me, both of us where playing Hello on our stereos, looking forward to seeing each other the next day, but, he was killed that night, so, Hello, means alot to me. Love you, Eric and Hello my friend!!
My dad died nearly three years ago and like the other comment on here - i was bought up listening to this music... my dad use to play it loudly out of the stereo i now have... i miss him terribly but listening to this i feel he is near.... the music helps keep my memories alive.. x
How does this man reach so deeply into love? Some of us who understand the great, and sadness of love, listen to Neil to find the great if only for a couple of minutes. God will bless this man for sharing in a way to remind us all, that love lives on, always. Kitty Kelso

My (second) marriage is comi9ng to an end, I`m only 42 and was pleased when my firast one ended.....but not this time! This is a very moving song. I was brought up on this music...I'm only 23, but my Dad was a huge fan and used to sing his songs to me. He died in 2003, but listening to these songs, it's like he never went away.
@M1SSM4R5 May your father's gift of music stay with you always. It is the most useful expression of love in times when words fail to show the truth of how we feel. Sorry for your loss.
@M1SSM4R5 You will never forget him, mine died when I was 16, in 1967, I am now 62,... do what I do... remember the special times... nothing else matters ..
@M1SSM4R5 When someone you love dies, they never really go my dear.....if he`s in your head and your heart, he`s still with you. He had taste too in music, didn`t he! He obviously did a good job raising you too! Sounds like your dad was a great fellow! Garry H.

@resaf - Yes, Ted Teven. Cried so much, can't believe he's gone. I love how he loved to play Neil Diamond at night, it just made things right in Montreal. May he rest in Peace in God's arms forever.
Played this at my wife's funeral on Wednesday 13 July 2011. Me were childhood sweethearts but split up after 2 years. Then met again 10 years later. Married after 6 months then sadly she died of cancer at the age of 32. We were both big fans of Neil Diamond and named our 4 year old son after him. This was our song. Love you Kate, miss you even more. Garry and Neil. We will meet again someday. XXX
@garrywbafc Touching words, Garry. You`ll always miss her, and it will not be easy living without Kate. My goodness, these posts are almost making me cry! Take care of yourself, Garry. Garry H.
man, with today's sexually charged generation , it's good to hear the great music from a legend who slows things down , brings us back to an era of true love and deep feelings ... our present time, lacks so much of what we've lost today.
aww,my uncle and auntie both passed on they loved neil,i loved to watch them dance together to this one and his others.after over 35yrs marriage.u dont get that these days often.
However, it pains me when he performs live and pushes and pulls the lyrics so far out of whack you just can't "feel" the song anymore. The cadence might seem new and interesting in his head after all these years of performing but I just can't get behind it.
@C5Rigzz in this concert he SUNG the songs. nowadays he tends to shout the words.plus those weird sounding nonsensical ad libs he does. baby loves me yes yes she does cherry cherry, she gonna show me tonite yeah HISSSS! first they say they want you HEEEEEEEEEE say how they really need you. come on neil.
@TonyfromSyracuse Oh, man, I know what you're talking about. I think it must be a side effect of having sung the same songs a million times in a million venues and you just try to breath some new life... ANY new life into them as the artist. I think, though, the audience still probably prefers to hear them a little closer to the album - not exact, but at least in the same ballpark. Oh well, at least the shirts haven't changed!
@WarmWhisper1 totally true my friend. look at the amount of views. after reading your comment i looked at the thumbs up and thumbs down's. Their are no thumbs down man. This is honestly the first I can remember with no dislikes and will remember for a long time.
My BF has been away all week-plays "Gold" every morning - never misses it. I haven't played it all week...this is PERFECT. I may be a head banger, but even I've gotta soft side, especially for m guy....
What a great ending to this song. You can tell that he's really into what he's singing. I also remember this concert on HBO many years ago and still have the VCR tape. Wow, does time go by way too fast.
I'm 17 and I think that this man is totally hot. For his music, lyrics, and physical attractiveness. Sorry about my spelling and grammar. Anyway, I love you Neil Diamond.
Yes absolutely in his prime - sometimes it hurts to see him now since he has aged and has to be honest lost a lot of his sex appeal, which to me was a big part of my love for him. But at least we can still enjoy him as he was back then!!!!
I'm 30 and i went home to watch it when it was rented by another family member and I was stunned how awesome this guy really is....not only does he have a sound but he can write!
