You know what I find interesting is how Brazil feeds its athletes (swimmers in particular) to the USA and here they're promoting hosting the games with swimmers wearing USA caps. Am I seeing this correctly? Oh I'm sorry maybe Chicago should have gotten the games since we're maturing your top performing athletes to make Rio Shine. At least cut us a royalty check or something. On the positive note it's a beautiful place and in the olympic spirit good luck Rio and all athletes.

I love Rio and Brasil but how could it justify spending billions on a two week sports event when millions live in poverty. Most of the stadiums and facilitys in Sydney(00),Athens(04) and Beijing(08) are now lying idle because the local people don't need them with all the competitors ,officials and tourists long gone, never to return in those kind of numbers again.Spend the money on hospitals,schools etc.

I love the look of Rio. A very strong candidate. And South America deserves the Olympics. Yet it was the most dangerous city I've ever been to. I had three incidents in four days. I live in Chicago, which is dangerous, but tourists are never preyed upon. The majority of crime is isolated to certain areas. I had such problems in Brazil that I will never return. I preferred Argentina.
