  • The Beatles Forever ...

  • I really got sick of George Martin's condescending & arrogant comments about George Harrison's songwriting. First of all, he was wrong (for even the "worst" Harrisong was better than the "best" Martin-composition). Secondly, I don't recall Martin commenting (positively or negatively) about Ringo's 'Don't Pass Me By' or Paul's 'Wild Honey Pie' or the wretched Lennon songs 'Revolution 9'/'What's The New Mary Jane.' Then he tries to pass it all off by saying he was "surprised" by GH's 'Something'?!

  • @redletter2008 I agree. He never made the most of George's talent. Nobody did really at that time. They all look back and say they wished they had given George more of a chance. I don't. I think it released George when the Beatles broke up to write and record some brilliant songs. George Harrison will always be the best Bealte. Love you George <3 xx

  • This is very strange. I'm sure Ringo only played tambourine because it didn't sound right with drums.

  • @ChanoineStraub, look the mini-book of the anthology disc 1, there it is clair, George play the tambourine in this record

  • @k1q3100 Who played the tambourine isn't my point at all. Anyone can play it.

  • @ChanoineStraub: Anthology 1 (disc 2) nº 19

  • Not bad, but in the credits at the end you said Ringo did the tambourine and really John did. anyways I totally dig

  • Hey it's one thing bad. Ringo don't play the tambourine in this track, because it was made in the stage when RIngo was ill and he was interchanged for Jimmy Nicol to drums, but this boy neither play in this track because while John, Paul and George was making it, Jimmy had gone home to pack his suitcase because he was going to fly to Denmark with the Beatles to be the drummer while Ringo would be ill.

In this session John, Paul, and George made a demo of No reply too, 3 June 1964.

  • John neither play the tambourine, it's George, Shortkid614

  • Great job Chés!!!

  • I did Linda's portrait on his art contest. I am on Facebook and am using it as my profile pic. Hope he likes it! You can click the link to the contest on my FB page where the link to it it! (Christine Newland) Thanks for voting if you do!

  • The drums sound a bit clumsy, but the rest is nice. I could imagine it on "With The Beales" or "Beatles for sale", maybe the B-side of the "Help!" album.

  • @tlatosmd It was recorded at the time after A Hard Day's Night

  • This song would have fit nicely into any of the early Beatles albums like With the Beatles or A Hard Day's Night album. Our loss that John and Paul never gave George's material any merit, this one captured the Beatles sound as much as any John and Paul early material. Wondering out loud if their is any other lost Harrison song's of this caliber that we never got to hear?

  • *ATTENTION FELLOW BEATLES FANS!*

On July 30th 2011 view every Beatles video you can , and make sure you like it too.

This will be national Beatles day.blast their music, sing their songs, do everything to celebrate! Music today is junk, auto-tunes, and not their real voices example: Lady GaGa, Kesha Justin Beiber, and many more. More kids should listen to music like this, real music. Agreed? THE BEATLES RULE. Thumbs up so everyone can see, and please repost to every Beatles video!!

  • I can blow bubbles in the bathtub to this song.....except when we dont have beenie weeny for dinner

  • Very nice job! You really captured their 'feel'. The only thing missing is Georges guitar solo that he'd have in the middle!

  • BEACH BOYS predate.

  • Can you give a link to an audio file? I want this version on my iPod.

  • i have this song but in the anthology version where its just george his guitar and tamborine. where did u get this?

  • @BEARARMZ he made this version as he imagined it would sound i think

  • @jias188 kool wish i can get it my ipod

  • I am from Romania-Bucuresti. I had to find the Magic The Beatles when understood to listen The Beatles by the album to album ...not separate pieces..I am not monarchist but....I know there is a Beatles Kingdom ...!

  • Every pop or rock musician owes something to The Beatles. Without them there would not be a pop scene. It took records like Revolver and Sgt Pepper before anyone ever took pop music serious. After them came Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Doors and all the more artsy groups, BUT THEY WERE THE FIRST !

  • THIS IS SO BEUTIFUL!!!!

  • Nicely done!!!! You captured the sound nicely!!!

  • This is pretty cool!

  • georges voice sounds amazing in this <3

makes me wanna cry tears of joy :']

  • @updoc

What is your generation exactly? I'm fully aware of what John,Paul,George and Ringo done for this world!

  • definitively a great job

  • George , you're the best <3

  • Only people of my generation could understand the cultural and social impact that these guys had on the world. They changed everything.

  • Only people of my generation could understand the cultural and social impact that these guys had on the world. They changed everything.

  • I like this tape more than the original, it sounds better for me with the chorus

  • 7 people like justin beaver

  • @obombombom Well...if only idiots, nerds and gays hear Beatles...be proud to be an idiot, nerd and gay person!! :-))) just don't care about what your classmates say....you said right: they drank too much!! Beatles the best and fuck the rest!!

  • This is really great! Good job.

  • 7 persons don't know what is the real music..

  • Actually John's on tambourine. This was the day that Ringo had tonsillitis. Jimmy Nicol went home to pack his clothes for the tour.

  • Good job guys! Sounded pretty convincing to me!

  • After Anthology 1 was released, Harrison was asked about the song and he said he didn't even remember its existence....

  • Best Version out there YEA!!!!! Beatles will definitely affect the rest of my life =]

  • dammit i've heard a lot of beatles song i got all their discography and i didn't heard this song but dammit is really awesum theres not one song i dont like from em beatles are the best band in the world <3

  • How did this song not make it onto an album???

  • You definatley knew what to to do!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i never heard alot of this unreleased beatles stuff; ty for everyone's posts!!

  • Preciosa canción sin duda alguna!

  • Cool

  • Great Job!!!!!!!

  • wow thanks george wow

  • GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

  • You've done a great job on this - sounds really authentic. Well done !

  • great job ..well done

  • Wow!! I thought the Beatles ACTUALLY recorded the song this way!! Man that sounds really good, just like it was recorded back in the 1960s.

  • I could totally see this on Beatles for Sale, and it would make me love the album even more.

  • I don't understand why they didn't finish this song. It Might've been a hit.

  • I never heard this in stereo fantastic

  • I could hear this on Beatles For Sale or Help!

  • This could very well have been the 14th song on A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, had Ringo not come down with tonsilitis the day of the last recording session for that album. It was either this or a cover, which would've seemed out of place among 13 originals (the only other candidate at the time was "No Reply," which John was planning on giving to Tommy Quickly to record at the time). Granted, this would've been AHDN's weakest track, but it would at least keep the 14-song synchronicity of their early LPs.

  • Cool song, sounds like it could have been another Beatles tune from way back.

  • This is the BBCs Radio2s Sounds of the 60s song for week startg SAT22MAY10 were the history of this song is given on line for 1week after May22 An early song by George recorded on 3rd of June64 but not released to the 90s on Anthology One John Lennon on tambourine as Ringo was ill with tonsilitis

  • I like how George has all the songs about being afraid of girls.

  • Too bad this didn't get released till Anthology. Perhaps this version should get released!

  • Good effort! It takes a little bit at first for everything to meld together, but then it all falls into place. Sounds almost believable, especially the backing vocals.

  • very clever young man

  • How'd you produce those backing vocals?

  • Who is singing there?!?

  • George is on lead.

  • Good song.

  • Good job! Almost real.

  • I don't think that's Ringo on tambourine as he had been rushed to the hospital with tonsillitis

  • My fav of Cavalli & Gonzalez's work.

  • This should get released officially by The Beatles on their next release of still unreleased songs.

  • Wow this is a rock-yer version! COOOLLLL...Never heard this version before I like it :D

  • Lovely pics! Thank you very much!

  • wow i could have sworn this was really them playing. great job. i think this would have been an alright george song and would have fitted perfectly on beatles for sale or help albums.

  • wow. really nice job.

  • :23 !!!

  • this is amazing!! where can i get this song?

  • @Acerian Anthology 1 ! :)

  • this song needs more cowbell !

  • Hey, this is very well done! Good job on getting that "Beatles" sound.

  • Descending riffs are a dime a dozen. This bridge is not at all like Something's bridge. George started writing good songs in 1965 (I Need You is a pretty good song!). He was 22. What had you accomplished by 22. He had a huge backlog of songs that Lennon and McCartney didn't allow to see the light of day. He was pretty talented, once he found his voice. If he were the lead song writer in most bands, he would get a lot of respect.

  • "He was 22. What had you accomplished by 22."

whoever you're talking to, careful.... you never know who is on the other end of that internet handle........... :)

  • The last thing I want to do is start a lame flame war, but if I am so mistaken about how many people there are spending their time commenting on YouTube videos who have accomplished more than George Harrison had by 22 (being the lead guitarist of the biggest band in the world), please please please feel free to enlighten me.

  • Haha, Love you! THat made me laugh. 'Freed is Soo Better Than George Starr Or John McCartney' I almost exploded.

  • @SongStuff1 lol

  • @SongStuff1 I doubt that many people on earth have achieved as much as The Beatles had by age 22. And I'm not talking about their commercial success.

  • geatest jb on youtube you should deserve a kind of premium for doing this job for us!!

  • Actually gaius476, Jimmy Nicol played tambourine on this song. He did this song during is session with the other three Beatles before they went off to Australia.

  • Actually, it is up to speculation as to who played tambourine on the unedited song. This song was played at the end of a rehearsal session with Jimmy Nicol, but Nicol is thought to have went home by the time the demos included on Anthology 1 were recorded.

  • Excellent job.

  • Good job. I just listened to the Anthology version and Ii was thinking it actually would have been a good song if given a proper production job. I don't like the abrupt ending. It should fade out repeating "you know what to do" over and over.

  • amazing this songs why not leaves in the lp's ! why ?? i never has hear! but now i shared it !! o love the beatles !!! wow !! ya!!

  • You hear that middle part at 0:51? That`s also the middle to "Something". George was obsessed with that descending sound and used it on many of his songs before really making it fit with the song Something. The very first song he wrote matter of fact "Don`t bother me" is that one whole descending riff. Just goes to show the difference between talent and genius. It took George years to write Something, a song as good Lennon and McCartney, whereas they could write a song that good in a day.

  • That's very interesting. It does sound very similar.

Did you discover that by yourself?

  • @Edhallick: Apples and oranges, dude. You're comparing one Harrison song to all Lennon/McCartney songs, as though George has only one great song and LenMac never wrote bad ones. Yeah, George liked that descending scale thing but so did John--and some other mere "talents" like Beethoven and Liszt and a few others who were also known to take more than a day writing something. Or we could just get glad we get to hear it!

  • Very cute!

  • great version, thanx!!!

  • Really very good. Thank you!

  • George had a very sexy voice.

  • awesome!!! 5 stars!!!

  • George did this awesomly!!

  • They really should've released this song on an album, if not as an A-side single. I think it's better than a lot of their earlier singles.

  • Everybody in my classroom say that only idiots, nerds and gays hear Beatles. I think they are stupid and drank too much with their biches, so they can't think very well

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • @obombombom its true the best guy in school listen's to beatels in facted he loves them and that good ( i ben to his house so i know he my best friend )

  • @ariesmorrison saludos amigo! :D

  • @gorrionalvuelo HOLA COMO ANDAS? UN SALUDO Y SIGAMOS ESCUCHANDO LA BUENA MUSICA... XOXO

  • @obombombom after reading your comment I think all the kids in your classroom are the stupid and idiots to talk about the greatest group of all time. They don' t know good music bet they listen to all the cussing rap which talkes about bitches and hoe, Getting paid and throwing their money away on high expense things. Have they made a videos and music like the Beatles

  • @obombombom Crap, how old are you? What kinda loser school are you going to? Smart people like the Beatles, dumb people like the Beatles, nerds like the Beatles, hipsters like the Beatles, gay people like the Beatles, straight people like the Beatles. The Beatles are for everybody! They're not necessarily everyone's cup of tea, but basically only two kinds of people hate the Beatles- pretentious a-holes and cheesey morons with no effin' taste whatsoever.

  • Comment removed

  • @moonlily1 well said!

  • a nice outburst of true words there my friend!

  • @obombombom what do the kids in your classroom listen to?

  • @obombombom My bro thinks that he thinks "The Beatles are gayrods!" and he's the one who hears Paul McCartney's Band On The Run and The Girl Is Mine and Say Say Say with MJ. Brothers... (Big ones of course)

  • how did you di that

    you mix tracs?

i never ear this song completly

I have all rarities and never know about this version

any way, the song is amazing

    i like it

    great job

    bye

  • You have obviously over dubbed drums? I love that sound. How did you get it?

  • The Greatest Band forever and ever.

  • The Beatles, The best of the best for ever and ever

  • wow this version wasn't on the Anthology album..

can you send me this version?

  • Of course it wasn't on Anthology.

This is remade version as imagined by the uploader.

  • I just love this one. George's voice was very sexy on this one.

  • very good concratulations!!! it doesn't sounds like free as a bird but i have to admit it's a great job!!!

  • Who completed this??

  • Great stuff gaius476! Check out the rare and unreleased George Harrison song "Window Window" with my new studio backing on youtube.

  • such fuckin great musicians

  • PEACE AND LOVE!

  • Very beautiful!

  • George's voice is so beautiful!

  • Long forgotten beatles song/ Came out during anthology. maupau. antik classic beatles sound.

  • What album was the released on 'unfinished'?

  • It's on the album Anthology 1. But I TOTALLY love this version too!

  • This is really good. The drums, I do admit, almost seem like they're too slow for the beat of the music, but otherwise, great job.

  • Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

    =D =D =D

  • The drums really detract from an otherwise superb version!... I'd advise you to re-record the drum track...

  • AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • if george wants to sound good.....he has to have reverb on his voice.......double tracked w/ reverb........otherwise it is just too thin sounding

  • Who sang and played the rums and other instruments? They're good!

  • josegilpr,

Definitely sounds like George singing. I think it was taken from an unfinished acoustic version, which I have in my favourites.

PS. Don't know who played the 'rums' ... but I'm happy to join in with the brandy.

  • It` sounds like George singing (they all sing though), Ringo on the drums, Paul on the bass, George on the ocoustic, and George on therythematic.

John also plays harmonica, later on George played the sitar, Paul could play piano, and John learned Piano. They could all play a lot of things, Ringo learned guitar, and Paul learned drums! IDK who played every single instrument used...

  • bellissimo video....stupenda canzone..favolosi beatles!by negro da roma

  • You captured that sound so perfect. Virtual Beatles!

  • I get finicky about attempts to remake, complete, etc., but this is a great job!

  • great work! i love the garage sound, early Beatles indeed! :))

  • Fantastic...George would be pleased.

  • Wow. Fantastic pictures! Most of them I hadn't seen before. Good work; thanks for posting.

  • Great mate - where did you record this?

such a great idea, might do a few myself

  • cool! i used to put a little guitar lick to it as well song shouldve been released thanks!!

  • Awsome !! I luv George .

  • somehow i heard this before from a rare record that my friend had

  • Whaere Did You Get This Recording From?

    Its So Good!

  • mira vos q bueno q les quedo interesante muchachos!

  • Wow this is wonderful - I really think you have captured the ambience and style so well! I love it, keep 'em coming!

  • I'm diggin the "vintage style". Thanks for sharing it!:)

  • i'm impressed i would'nt have said there would have been much to do to this song but i have been proved wrong. have you considered "a friend of dorothy's" there are two versions; a noisy one about 2:30 and a longer cleaner one in a different key but the vocals are slightly quiter [but it is longer and "bounceier - if that is a word]

  • i think it would be neally impossible to extract any vocal of a decent level but "a case of the blues" would sound good too

  • Oh also, wanted to mention that this demo was done, as a single. I own it, and both versions sound great, though i hate saying that i prefer the original completed version.

  • Ok. I didn't like it at first, because I would have loved Dark Horse. However, after a few times listening, it sounds pretty good, so excellent work, but the ending fade should be at least 2 or 3 times longer, somewhat like what was done on Goodbye, but just not as long, and possibly a double intro. Can't wait to hear the last one. Don't rush it, better to wait and get something amazing than to get done asap.

  • Is that really Ringo's drums and the John's guitar lifted from other songs, or just you guys playing over the original demo?

  • when I first hear this on anthology i was amazed. I think george was very good, and i like this one very much, as i do fopr don't bother me.

  • Have you guys considered: Going Down to Golders Green The Happy Rishikesh Song Spiritual Regeneration Taking A Trip To Carolina Dera Dera Doon? Admittedly they're lesser songs, but I thought they're at least worth discussing. I do think that two of their early ones: In Spite of All the Danger You'll Be Mine are great songs and totally worthwhile. I'm not saying the Free as a Bird treatment would be easy or even feasible with these, but hey, give 'em a shot.
  • I always thought it was such an obvious missed oprotunity for the surviving beatles to layer some new instruments onto this track and make it nice and complete. Thanks for fleshing it out guys. More power to ya--this whole project is like a fan's dream come true. It shows us what all these other lost songs could have become as beatle songs, when given the "free as a bird" treatment.

  • Sounds Good!

  • I hate to say this! But this one of the best ones! The ending is a little abrupt! But it really sounds like a lost Beatle song from 64! The drums really sound ringo! I wish it was twenty seconds longer with a little Harrison solo and a longer fade-the fade is really quick! But wow its good ! It really sounds real! I could loan you a rickenbacher if you wanna play a little turnaround solo--but got that gretsch sound really sounds real and the little vocal harmonies! I like it! I must download !
