I really wish people would stop comparing Jennifer and Beyonce. You guys are not really seeing what they put into the movie. Its not about comparing the two best people its about a life of four woman who made it in show biz. I really wish yaw would stop comparing those two because they are both absolutely amazing singers.

One of the greatest movies of all time with the ideal cast. I can honestly say that the entire cast was born to play these roles. An absolutely gorgous movie with amazing talent.

I think jennifer gave a better performance in this film, but her character was more dynamic than beyonces, she had more to play with. If you see beyonce in cadillac records, you can see she is an amazing actress and can deliver as much jennifer did in this movie. She still did great though as deena.

@babyboi1002 , finally, someone gets it!!!!!!!!! It wasn't Beyonce, it was the role. The strong thing she had to do was perform Listen. Deena has never been as boisterous a part as Effie but much more could've been done with her on the part of Mr. Condon.

@lf1234 Most of Deena's scenes that showcased ACTING were taking out of the film(IE:Opening of Act two,Dressing room scene,among others) or given to someone else(IE:Press Conf given to Curtis and the end where she leaves Curtis was pretty much given to Deena's mother.)

No way. Jennifer is way better than beyonce! Beyonce is still a very good singer and so is jennifer but they r both good in completely diff ways. Jennifer has a stronger voice yet soothing, and beyonce can put a beat under ur feet with her voice. But when it comes to acting, Jennifer beat beyonce by just a little.

as far as music goes beyonce is fine, but she cannot act.

she's never able to show the emotion necessary to make the role believeable, and when she does attempt to cry or whatever its stale looking. she's making the same bored face with the same bored voice in every single scene & sometimes somebody puts visine in her eyes so she can pretend to cry with the same bored voice and face. she's not convincing.

she should stick to what she knows or get a better acting coach

When shes doing that scene with j hudson, i see no emotion and i don't see a character...I SEE BEYONCE. The way she talks, her faces expressions don't seem like she has any emotion or soul. When i see her in a movie i should see the character shes portrays but instead i see HERSELF, i SEE BEYONCE. Now when j hudson acts, i see emotion and character, i dont see j huson.

Totally agree...not hating, but her acting is wooden to me. She either over or under acts, and she never gets it right.
