  • no shit

  • WELL NO FUCKING SHIT! YOU FROZE THE WATER WITHIN THE PHONE! IT SAYS WATERPROOF, NOT FREEZE-PROOF. IGNORANT PEOPLE THESE DAYS. SWEAR.

  • "Hmmm, this phone says it's waterproof....I KNOW!!! I'LL DROP A GIANT BRICK ON IT TO TEST IT!!!!!!! Oh, it broke. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!" Where's the "what?" Jackie Chan face when you need it?......

  • The average person will drop their phone in water/accidentally drop it onto the floor. Not deep freeze it then drop a cinderblock on it.

People that stupid shouldn't have phones... so yeah... you guys better not buy any more phones to do pointless experiments on them!

  • Beyond stupid.

    Waterproof does not equal crushproof.

I guess that's why anyone with a brain stopped reading PC magazines about a decade ago.

    Asshats.

  • I have to give this video a "No Shit!" rating. Why not just take a sledge hammer to them? Stupid.

I don't think any of these phones, by any stretch of the imagination, were intended to be frozen in a solid block of ice and then broken open with a cinder block. Maybe try some real world tests. Like falling out of a car window doing 60mph, dropping off a 2nd or 3rd story balcony, dropped in a pot of boiling soup and immediately spooned out. Extreme but stuff people might actually do.

  • When is a phone ever gonna be going through the air at like 50 mph...never the people who tested this obviously are just trolls.

  • fuck of ,bitch

  • These phones are not "water proof" they are "moisture proof" dropping them in a tub of water and getting them out ASAP should be ok to some degree.

  • The older ones were better.

I had both the type s and the type v and they survived constant sumergings in the pool, in the ocean, in the shower and I threw them, ran one over and nothing happened to them. Not a broken screen, no water in it, nothing.

I got a brigade about a month ago, and put in a sink full of water, and the fucking screen got water in it.

Obviously, they don't want the phones to be that good anymore.

It's a shame, they were with out a doubt the coolest phones out there.

  • My mom's boyfriend and I both have/had the Rock and theyre GREAT just ran his over with his full sized pick truck (accident) and IT STILL WORKED the screen was cracked up sure but he could still use it, now he is using a cheap-o replacement but is looking for a new rock. And mine, Ive thrown it, submerged it, smacked it over and on concrete , it even fell three stories when it was bumped off my belt and yes it is fine! best rugged phone out there.

  • I just wish that y'all would stop abusing those G'z One phones and this is nothing to laugh about it. It's not worth keeping a phone you would suddenly destroying it and waste money to buy another one.

  • This phones are meant to be tough but not indestructible. They are phones after all.

  • "these phones are tough but their not indestructible" no shit

  • I think its awesome to have water on your phones screen!

  • A car ran over my Rock and it still works.

  • try a sonim.

  • barrage is awsome

  • polar bears are going to need better quality... shame on these companies

  • right because why wouldn't you donate phones to people in developing countries, when you can destroy them, USA! USA! USA!

  • DUMB TEST

  • try nokia classic 3720

  • Really?? This phone was built to handle extreme conditions, military conditions! I highly doubt a sniper is going to freeze his phone over night, or run out of bullets and throw the phone at the target. Do practical tests on the phone, not what Bam Bam from the Flinstones could do to it.

  • No phone is indestructible. your test was extreme. you should have simply thawed the ice and seen if the phones would work. anyone can shoot a glock at their phone and break it.

  • ive dunked the gzone in luquid nitrogen, and its fine

  • hmmm for one no phone is indeestrutabl and its designed to take every day accidents, like drop in a puddle, fall from your pocket, or land in dirt.

  • @DSMeclipsegst indestructable***

  • so it looks like you have 2 chances at releasing rage on the phone?....

  • You got paid for this. Cool, where do I get a app

  • no shit they didnt live thought it.

  • I think a more practical test would be to dunk the phone in water then freeze it then drop it from 4ft or just drop it on to the ground and run over it. Cause they are marketed towards the outdoors men and construction worker type people.

  • @sackcheck

who freezes their phones? if an outdoorsman's phone freezes, chances are he freezes too. dropping a phone from a tall place would be a good test or running it over(possible).

  • @guitarfreek1 I Froze my Nokia once on a fly fishing trip In Montana, You might wear clothes that keep you warm, but the items that you want easy access to you will prolly keep in an outside pocket that is not insulated.

You dont need a bowl of water to freeze a Phone.

  • My friend had a phone once that he would hurl against concrete like that. It would break apart and he would just snap the pieces back together and it would work fine. I forget what it was though.

  • A waste of phones, and a stupid test. A army tank can be destroyed too when hit with the proper force.

  • it aint a cinderblock its a retaing wall segment

  • Doesn't take a scientist to know why - when they forcibly opened the phone while the ice inside has yet to melt, there's a high chance the ribbon cable snapped at the same time.

  • yea thos were the dumbest test like wen you freeze somthing its going to buckle cuz it expands

  • good thing i will never freeze my phone in a block of ice and drop a cinder block on it.

  • well no shit it wont take a 18 pound cinder block bein dropped on it from 4 feet while frozen cold temp makes stuff britle and i mean its a cinder block common!!

  • aww, next time you guys do a test, maybe keep all phones in your bathing suite and see if they can survive a day at the beach or pool and maybe a 1 story drop onto concrete.

  • it doesnt matter because i dont know anyone that rough on phones so its all good

  • Seriously? I get they were testing there "indestructableness" But whos going to ever freeze there phone, and throw it against the wall three times. You have to do more reasonable test. and ones that make more sense. But dont base your decision of buying these phones based on this video.

  • soldiers, construction workers, etc

  • @melonfeeler

Ya? But whos going to actually FREEZE IT?! C'mon!

  • @imPricless3 a jewish noob thats hiking in the snowy mountains with nazis

  • @imPricless3 yah we need reasonable helpful tests like Will it Blend?

  • Why would you throw a phone so hard at a wall so many times, Also freezing a phone in ice and dropping a block on it?. The test was asking too much of these phones. PC Mag you should of given the phones to me instead of destroying them.

  • these people are dick heads

  • This is the most freaking pointless video ever. nobody in their right mind needs a cell phone that can be submerged in water then frozen. idiots.

  • why dont you stick them up your butts and see if they can survive a few days

  • I'm a contractor and I've had a boulder for awhile. I've dropped it from ladders, left it out in the rain, left it on the rear bumper and went looking for it on the highway (found it)... I've beat the hell out of this thing. That's real world testing, and it passes with flying colors. Hell, the military approved it! And as said before, if your phone is frozen solid and there are cinder blocks falling from the sky... RUN!

BTW, I'm upgrading to the rock next month. I love these things!

  • they arent 100% waterproof. they supposedly can allow 30 seconds

  • its 30 minutes

  • G'zOne Boulder is 100% waterproof

  • im a construction worker and ive had almost all the water proof and shock resistant phones and i thank its a dead tie between the gzone boulder and the rock there the toughest of all this video aint testing its just dumb

  • @dgkbkr isnt the rock the newer boulder though?

  • yea but the rock is supposed to be a better version because they said the took the old boulder and made it tougher

  • wow seriusly i think they mean its industructable to what you can do with a phone not freeze it and drop a god damn block on it

  • WHo the fuck freezes their godamn phone, if your in a situation where you phone freezes solid like that you got bigger fuckin problems than your phone not working...it probably got water in it when you jackasses dropped a 30 pound cynder block on it and then thawed it out.

  • Hmm, that Casio rock must have been faulty or the rock just sucks. There are tons on videos of the boulder being frozen in ice and water never gets into it's screen,

  • @fascinating2112 they arn't videos of them dropping cinder blocks onto them while there frozen tho

  • Tests were just slightly extreme...?

  • I have the Samsung Convoy for awhile now and it does measure up to the beating...not to the extreme like in the video but from constantly (butterfinger) dropping on concrete and blacktops. I've even stepped on it by accident several times with the tip of my heels. Although there are a lot of scratches and scuff marks, performance was still 100%. Solid phone, solid feel. I'm happy with it.

  • I have the the gzone boulder and my 100 pound pitbull chewed on it when i went outside for about 15 min. If anyone knows anything about pitbulls you should know they have silly bite force. the phone still works fine, two buttons are mashed in and dont work the outer hinge is cracked in half and thats all. I have also launched this phone several times against different surfaces in a rage. Whatever these idiots have done to these phones is untrue. my boulder still works 100% fine after all i did.

  • MAN! You guys get PAID to knowingly destroy new technology? I want THAT gig!

  • What the heck you think gonna happen when you drop a cinder block on a cell phone. Duh?? you guys are sooooo stupid.

  • i bought the birage, the outside scrren cracked when i had it in my pocket with keys and sat down, its no longer waterproof, the phones all suck, the boulder was way better

  • sweetheat you "seem" to break a lot of your phones-ever think about two tin cans and some "yarn"

    no pun intended.

  • nice tupperwear girls-ruining a perfectly good phone when theres people out there with no cell phones def not going green are we girls-and yes dropping a cinder block will destroy any phone you drama queens- leave test results to professionals-

  • @WINDHAMMAN the phones clain to be military spec. not house wife accessories you retard.

  • @ramboruckus yeah that doesnt mean to freeze it and fricken drop a block on it

  • Job title: Smashing Phones. LOL!

  • Common sense tells me the regular person wouldn't freeze their phone in a block of ice, or intentionally throw it against a wall. Maybe drop a cinder block on it by accident...but seriously. overkill.

  • G'zOne Boulder can survived all these tests!!

  • Haha 1:35 fail. The phone came back and hit him.

  • In MythBusters they would have blown up the phone...

  • Wow. So it isn't a good idea to freeze a phone?!? (or throw it at the side of a building

    XD)

  • No phone would have survived these tests.

  • The Sonim XP3 probably would've..

  • nice way to waste a few phones

  • how do i get a job like this?

  • @pincheneo join the army

  • @pincheneo you have to be retarded and own a camera

  • My lg vx9800 was not waterproof, but boy it could take a beating. My friends and I used to throw it as hard as we could at the ground, or throw it as far as we could in the parking lot. Never broke, until i dropped it into a puddle of icy water, then the battery shorted out the phone. great phone though....

  • cool :)
