  • the reason i didnt get this bike was becuase the maintance on ducs is very pricey and i dont have a dealership to close bummer

  • 1098 sounds better

  • i love how the bike pops up when he shifts XD

  • Jap bikes...just like clits every cunt has got one.

  • L twin... V twin... my vrod & my buddies monster sound alike.

  • this guy has the better job in the world

  • Looks nice but Japanese bikes are better ;)

  • V-Twins, a sound like no other...

  • @Sideler74 L-twin buddy

  • Why he wear a earguard ??

  • @chiutsunhin because the sexy sound would destroy his ears lol you do realize how high he is in the rpm range right?

  • @theperfectlube 11,000 rpm??I think my ear will very delight to been destroyed

  • excuse my ignorance, but is he holding the brake while changing gears?

  • @Richardhuang70 Thats the clutch dude...

  • @djsfilms1 oh...are you serious? how do you brake then? i would've thought motobikes have the brake levers at least similar to where a bicycle has them.

  • @Richardhuang70 Left hand side (Hand lever and foot lever) is used for gears, Clutch is hand and Shifter is foot, Right hand side (Hand lever and foot lever) are used for brakes, Hand is front brake and foot is rear brake.

  • @djsfilms1 oh whoa, i didn't know that. thanks man. i did try riding a vespa a few weeks ago. and i think they still had breaks for both hand levers...but no need to change gears, so i guess it's a different layout.

  • my s4r testastretta (racing ) volano bielle corpi farfallati maggiorati pulegge 151,7hp :)

  • ohhhhmy god that sounds soooo fucking sexy

  • while it runs.

  • Lol, my monster s4r has also 121,2 hp's

  • Guys been running all sorts on the dyno for donkeys years, seen and heard it all and after running through the gears and hearing 'that' noise 00:34 to 00:37 tells us that this work of art is something very special.

    Thank you God and Ducati.

  • this guy has one of the best jobs in the world, and i think he wont use viagra in his life, just think about his day:)

  • Might need to get one of these as my next bike......I have a 09 ZX6R (black). A white 848 would make a lovely pair ! !

  • Im jizzed my pants!

  • Ducati is serious eargasm-material.

  • God I want a 848 so bad

  • Imagine if the back wheel gripped the floor.....

  • The Italians always win. Design, power, passion.

  • not bad for a ducatti...... me like:)

  • Jeez I wish people would stop comparing this engine to the 1198 or 1098...this is a lightweight (or middleweight) superbike and not meant to be the balls out monster that it's big brother is.

  • eh 848 looks cool and sounds cool but takes an hour to start and performance is lacking...triumph daytona 675 much better bike

  • fuck thats pro shifting :D

  • sexy

  • I test rode one of these, the only fault i'll give it is you need 7000 rpm before it starts to fly but haveing said that, thats only cause i've rode the 1098 and like the bottom end torque, if you red line it then it does move. Bottom end isn't that bad but its when you get up in the higher gears it suffers compaired with 1098. I found it comfortable and not as bad you one would think.

  • where did the rev limiter start?

  • 16k

  • I have a ZX6R its a great bike however the Duc weighs almost the exact same (dry) and has thirty more horse power and thirty more pounds of torque. Also I think this bike is the literally a piece of art especially compared to the whiny four cylinder bikes, the only thing I didn't like which I think would just take some getting used to was the posture you have on that bike it felt very narrow when I sat on one due to the two cylinder engine. Amazing machine though, ride safe guys.

  • definately, when i was on the 675 i felt weird enough, couldnt imagine a duc. but it was a nice change.

  • @ArborCoda and it cost as much as a litre bike..

  • @ArborCoda I have the opposite problem. I have an 09 848 and my friend has a 08(i think) zx6r and I had to get used to the different posture.lol The zx6r is a little bit more comfertable but it hurt my wrist

  • @ArborCoda wat year is ur zx6r?? my 09 gives me 120bhp ofcourse with mods like, full system blah blah blah, idk im not hating jus wondering..

  • The 848 has a "wet" clutch as have several other Ducatis. Not all have dry clutches. Oh and you can change gears without the clutch on dry clutch bikes. It's not the clutch that makes the difference.

  • 121 bhp approx. without ram air assistance, stock exhaust and ecu...!!!!!!!!! bravo

  • Awesome but why would someone buy one of these instead of a 1098? money?

  • It has to do with racing classes; there's a class where 750 fours will race 850/900 twins, another where 500 fours will race 600/650 twins, another where 900/1000 fours will race 1200 twins...

So the Japs will produce essentially high-revving fours, the Europeans (Ducati, Apriliam, BMW, Triumph) will produce twins and triples.

Morini and Benelli are back in the game.

The only club racing European Fours are the Triumh Daytonas and the MVAgustas

  • Mv Agusta is Italian and it has the greatest 4 Cylinder motorcycle engine ever created LoL

  • MY DAD IS (maybe -.-) GONNA BUY ME A DUCATI 750 SPORT CARENATA !! =D i`m soooooo happy ! than i`ll have my Ducati, my dream bike =D

  • nice bike! love the Termis good numbers too! my 636 Kawi only made 43 ft-lbs and 118 hp gotta love the twin!

  • Cant we all just get along?

  • i have no knowledge of dynos for bikes...but they pull on 6th gear? thats pretty weird

  • I've wanted to dyno my R6, too bad i just totaled it. This 848 is what im looking to get next. I've never seen them pull it on 6th gear either

  • On the dyno you pull with the gear which is closest to 1:1 (whatever the vehicle is).

  • i think its 5th on a 6 gear bike, with 5 being the 1:1 and 6 being an overdrive

  • It all depends on the gearing of the bike. On the 848, 5th and 6th are both acceptable, although I'd use 5th if I were operating the dyno. The ratios for 5th and 6th are 1.043 and 0.958 respectively.

  • cosign^^^ them numbers are correct

  • Sick bike, nice cans, good numbers!

I hate the fools who post dynos with no numbers...

  • lol he said that there were numbers he was just saying that he hates when they DON't have them at the end. stupid ass your the retard

  • isnt it clutch first then gears? this guy looks like he is gearing first then clutching

  • Proper form on the track is no clutch. :)

  • u may be smart but ur a total utter no it all fuck head

  • ur an idiot. re-read comments - no shit the bike has a clutch

  • haha yeah theres a clutch but they dont use it...ur 14 and wish you had a bike arent you. cuz thats the only reason ill kind of accept this response as non idiotic

  • your a dick. do you even have a bike?

  • exactly so many people here on youtube talk without possesion of anything, just from what they hear from other friends

  • i cant rememver what i was replying to, but now that ive read the comments i think what i said was to buttnut1080 and his shit know it all attitude, the original guy ggnnoohhtt was only asking a question, but it looks like im calling him a dick, but i meant the other guy is a dick. and ive been accordingly thumbs downed =)

  • you know this how? oh yeah, because you do it al the time!

  • You can change up with out the clutch, its also faster, and smoother once mastered.

  • i dont know much about bikes.. but i hear that all the time..shifting like that doesnt mess with the engine?

  • you can shift up without using clutch, when you shift down its highly recomended that you use it.

  • I may be wrong, but last time I looked the ducati had a dry clutch, you CANNOT change gears on a dry clutch, you'll crash the gears.

Ducatis are not Japs, they're Italian.

  • if you look there is a video of someone dynoing an 848 with a quick shifter running through the gears (2nd-6th if im not mistaking)

    and it's a beast

  • 848 has a wet clutch. i always change gears on my 748 (dry clutch) with out the clutch being engaged except for taking off in first of course. up or down-shift, doesn't matter.

  • @nuespeedgti

in up shift is pretty ok, but in down shift now you're lucky becouse the clutch are made with anti slip, so if you down shift too much nothing appens, but if you down shift too much in a older bike the rear tyre block.

You can see also in moto gp when they down shift they use the clutch, when they up shift there is a sensor on the lever of the gear that cut the ignition for a fraction of second.

  • jeezus.. that's over 90kW at the wheels!! and at a very usable 9600RPM! sounds great too! n-i-c-e!!

  • damn... thats an awesome sound^^

  • Hey TimoTeii666 the exhaust's are not akrapovic they are TERMIGNONI'S get your facts right, TERMIGNONIS MADE IN ITALY

    FORZA ITALIA

  • OMG. I think I just wet myself.

  • not a bad result :)

  • cool cool. you can tuck your boner away now...

  • u got him there m8 HAHAHA owned :D

  • where'd you learn to read? "Our Ducati 848 on the dyno with Termignoni race carbon cans."

    good job you FAIL!!

  • Very nice purr.

  • just listening to ducatis makes them intimidating.

  • Comment removed

  • Smoke another one! Chassis

Trellis frame: Developed in cooperation with Ducati Corse, the 848 Trellis frame has a simplified tube layout featuring main section tubes increased in diameter from 28 mm to 34 mm, while being reduced in thickness from 2 mm to 1.5 mm. The result is a 14% increase in rigidity and a weight saving of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs).

  • what is superior technology man in line 4?

    ha ha no way

and ducati switced in gp 9 trellis frame for a carbon frame not aluminum just like all the others

now tell me isnt that technology?

for one more time a small company shows the way to go and all the others 10 times more budget follow

  • What does an inline 4 have to do with the frame material??

  • Do you post this same quote on every ducati vid on youtube?????

  • tsi fool posted the same coment on other 848 vids. what a hater

  • jizzz

  • Last statement: Respect to the 121 rwhp of this bike!

  • But owners have bikes with varation of the offered HP. Some bikes even gain the offered power of 134 HP or sometimes more than that - but mostly just after changing the exhaust (termingnoni) and the ecu.

But it's normal that engine rating and reality may vary. This happens to drivers of all bikes - Ducati, Aprilia, Suzuki etc. ...

But who cares? Seriously normal drivers won't notice that using the bike everday day.

  • notice that these 120hp was without ram air support - there differences are the same like the measurement from other bike factories like kawa or suzuki

  • Keep in mind -> "The power of an engine may be measured or estimated at several points in the transmission of the power from its generation to its application." There's a difference between nominal HP (crankshaft output)and effective wheel power.

Ducati offers the 848 with 134 HP. The company promises they would measure the power of its bikes at the wheel since 2005.

  • Why at the end is he also moving the left handle bar if only the right one moves?

  • Clutch? lol

  • But he you don't turn the handle bar when clutching.. look at 0:31.

  • Clutch left hand. Throttle right hand. Handlebars never moved...look at the front wheel.

  • the 848 is rated at something like 135BHP isnt it?

is so, very impressive loss of less than 15 HP!!!

how much HP would the terminology cans add?

  • are these numbers with the ECU or without?

  • damn can't wait till I get mine, gonna get the naked beast!!!!

  • by naked u mean as a naked bike?? its a fully coverd bike

  • are you serious???

  • are you serious?

  • yea im serious

  • Quit comparing twins to four cylinders. let me make a better comparison to show you that ducatis are NOT underpowered as a matter of fact. Take any of the jap 1000s (all four cylinders) and compare with ducati's four cylinder, the Desmocedici rr. 989cc, 187hp at the wheel. Underpowered? I think not.

  • Good point! but that's a Moto GP bike with lights detuned for reliability.

I think all the manufacturer's could do that if they really wanted too, an RGV an RSV or an M1 with lights oou ya baby!!!! bring it on.

  • And Ducati would just spank them ALL as it does on the straights in MotoGP. Are you aware that Ducati is decidely faster on straights? I guess the Japs just don't feel like making their bike faster in MotoGP for some reason....

Check out Nicky Hayden's comments riding the Ducati MotoGP bike--coming off Honda: "I don't know how much they pay Casey Stoner, but it isn't enough. The bike is a beast!" He'd know.

  • And as you know faster down the straight dosent win races. Seen Haydens comments and thats all they are, comments, Hes just licking ass at the moment! Like he was when he went to Honda first.

  • Consider the fact that Hayden is stoners partner nexy year ;)!!

  • makes those inline fours sound homosexual

  • My inline 4 makes more than that with 100 less cc standard!

  • yes but only in the final 100 rpm of the powerband no doubt. Low down even my triumph bonneville has more poke.

  • Naw! your wrong.

  • I am correct. inline four screams like a little girl, V twin sounds like a war cry.

  • Naw! I said your wrong, why do you think the bike in the video is after getting new pipes,Yes to make more power. I was reading an road test this week in Performance Bike magazine and it ran the 848 up against the 4 popular jap bikes and guess which one of the 5 came last, yes you guessed it! it was the 848. That was conducted by guys that know what there talking about so like I said Naw! your wrong.

  • sounding homosexual as in screaming like a little girl as opposing to growling like a battle hardened solider. dont care about the fucking bike tests or petty stats. the guys who tested are just a bunch of gloryfied power rangers who only care which one is fastest in a straight line. NEWSFLASH anyone can go in a straight line. useable power wins races. WSB, troy bayliss? enough said.

  • Bayless won on a bike that had 200cc more than all the rest! Why! cause Ducati's are under powered. Now go away from me and annoy someone else.

  • WOW--You--being so smart better let the rulemakers know this. It's like this: V-twins have ONLY two cylinders and HP comes from moving air/fuel. You CANNOT spin a V-twin as fast as four relatively tiny cylinders--hence superior low-end torque--but at high HP cost. Ducati has traditionally been a V-twin--kinda like Porsche is a boxter engine. Tradition. That-and many people prefer the power delivery of the V-twin.

  • Well mister genius, if Ducati are traditionally twins why don't they run them in Moto gp? also Ducati were not the fastest DOWN THE STRAIGHT? at every meeting last year!

  • um.... they do use V twins in motoGP, do you even watch the races and listen to the comentary. but they are mostly L-twins now because it pays to have it at 90 degrees like in a boxer engine. ence the fact that they take there track technology and but it into there road bikes

  • The School that I went to taught us that twin means(2) Even the dogs on the street know they use a V configuration, But they all are 4 cylinder motors also I don't just watch them I was at most of the races last year.I Don't know what you mean about the boxer engine? A boxer engine has a horizontal layout like what BMW and Porsche use.

  • yes i stand corrected theyre all 4 cylinder in the races, but why bother gettin the inline 4 when honda and suzuki dont use inlines in there motogp bikes either

  • I don't know kid! but it doesn't bother them been the odd one out in every other race series their involved in.

  • Nooo, motoGP engines are all 800cc with 4 cylinders, either inline or V. Boxer engines are not nor ever were 90 degree engines. They are 180 degree engines.

  • the gb desmo is a 4 cylinder in L - form!

    about 260 hp....so

  • the L is just a 90 degree V

  • ye i know, but ducati always consists on the "L"

but for me its even a V ;)

  • Not quite, normally a 90 degree V will have the cylinders pointing up at 45 degrees or so, this is an L, there fore it has one horizontal and one vertical cylinder....that is why Ducati call it an L twin, it ressembles an L not a V........would you call the BMW twins a V only flat?

  • noooooooooooo like 200hp

  • is that why my 1998 ford ranger XLT 2.3l 4cyl is so fucking slow? because it has 4cyl and is built for towing? i can burn rubber easily (probably cuz its a pickup no weight in the boot) and right when i shift or pull off it jerks a lot but quickly power is lost. and the pull is very weak almost IMMEDIATELY after i go. 1st and 2nd are strongest 3rd is ok for medium street speeds but its so fucking slow, it drives me insane

  • "growling like a battle hardened solider" - hahahaha you idiot!

    :)

  • YEAH! HELL YEAH!!! nothing compares to a duc when it comes to sound. thats one of the best things about them. Their beautiful sound.

  • White and Red only.

  • I take this bike over any supersport bike. I currently have the 650r ninja..

  • whats the 0-60 mph for this bike and 1/4 times?

  • Its the only bike I think of getting Its a very beautiful design I love the pearl white I was checking out the 1098 in yellow but the price is a killer :( so I gonna go with the 848 White pearl my favorite color, Ducati is outstanding in designing super bikes. I dont want gsxr or a cbr or r6, ofcourse they are very great bikes but there is too many of em. That bike came out in 07 so far I never seen one during the season here in chicago 1098 or 848m so there you go :) DUCATI ALL THE WAY !!!!!!!!

  • 6 more months and it will be mine.

  • lucky you :)

    =================

    DUCATI RULES!!!

  • hey steve!!!!! :P lol sweet bike :D can i have 1 when im 21?? :P LOL

  • porno bike.. too bad wankers with big wallets and no balls mostly own these.

  • LOL such a GSXR owner comment! lets hope you win the bingo then you can have one too!

  • hey man. like i said nice bike! i have no prob with how good these bikes are! but you have 2 agree alot of people that own these have their hand firmly on their cocks and will never ride these bikes to full potential.

  • **ashGSXR** No probly not. But better looking then any other bike out there!! you gotta give it props for the looks man! i mean, c'mon.

  • my first comment said it all. "porno bike". I think they are like the ferrari of bikes. Look awesome! sounds awesome! expensive! and always garaged!

  • I hate red!!! I wish the 848 came in yellow! Kill Bill style lol ANyway this is the best stock sport bike out there... If your just riding and showing off a little bit. ITs face enough to race but where im at stunt bikes are really popular... Anyone ever hear of the Starboyz lol

  • uhh... Pretty sure they do come in yellow dude, and i'm pretty sure i've sat on one... yes i'm talking about the 848

  • its comes in yellow, red and white. i'm getting 1 in like 3 months ( the white 1 )

  • 848 only has Pearl White and Red...the Yellow you sat on is someone bought the yellow fairing from a 1098, because both bikes are same dimensions, different engine.

Reason why I know? because if there is a yellow one, i would have got it instead of the Pearl White...

Possible there will be a 848S in yellow or what not...don't know yet from Ducati

  • If only Aprilias looked like Ducatis, and Ducatis sounded like Aprilias.

  • does anyone know how much it cost to get your bike tested on a dynorun?

  • Awesome sound

  • this clip should have a copy under the Music category. it rocks.

  • Fantastic Motorbike! Great Handling, easy to drive, a lot of Power. And last but not least, very good looking. I was testdriving it today for 45 min.! Even with the original Sound a stunning experience!!! Some about the Color! White is nice but a Ducati must be RED!!! :-) Guess I will have soon a red 848 in my garage! :-)

  • It comes down to toque vs top end. Love GsxR's but every one and there moma has one.Stuniting is ok but i rather fuck shit up on corners. + originality matters.

  • I was wondering if this exhaust system was street legal? I saw it on the site as racing only but I still need to be sure. Hope to find out =).

  • dude no aftermarket pipes are legal. you should be okay, just dont pull up beside a cop and redline it:0 haha

  • lol that would suck, why should it matter if its louder, nothing happens with the emissions, DOT should revise the noise ordinance.

  • Todays sportbikes have no problem with slipping through gears without using the clutch if you know how to run your rpm's and throttle control. They are made to be ran hard and no, it doesnt hurt anything. I like my 600rr, but I run the dog sh*t out of it.

  • love the ducati's but i hate the metalic grinding sound of the clutch when stopped/low speed

but i do love the raw growl of a v-twin, i'd take that over an inline 4 any day!

  • New wet clutch system has solved that... It sounds a dream!

  • 'solved' !

plenty of ducati lovers can't get enough of the dry clutch jingle-jangle. it's a shame the 848 has a wet one, but it's done for weight issues i think i read, they have a low target to hit both on price and weight.

  • that and it's just a way better clutch in real life. takes up easier, lasts longer, modulates better, and doesn't fade. dry clutches are way cooler though.

  • NOT using the clutch is a good way of beating your mate by a slipt second in a straightline etc... but I think as a rule... It should be used, if you like your bike ;o)

  • super nice bike...WTF is he using the clutch???

  • They put clutches on them for a reason, dude. Remind me not to buy a bike from you...
