Sage Francis, Eyedea, Slug, Apathy, unknown prophets, five quick hip hop artists that are better then Em, EM is wack with his new shit, like dude said, when he was underground he was sick.
@pRiMeAndRhyme Your a fucking retard, dummies that have no clue about Hip Hop music always compare white rappers to Eminem. Mothafuckah I could name at least 5 white lyricists that are better than him. But at the end of the day, its not about fucking color which is another thing you idiots don't understand. It's about the culture and art of rhyming. If you knew anything about Hip Hop you'd get that Em in his current state would get demolished by Apathy. Em sounds like whiney bitch now.
@pRiMeAndRhyme ahahaha. Em ain't shit compared to this. Just the beats blow Em away. He was good when he was still underground, all his new shit. nope. not happening.
depeche mode is under rated by far. i got their old shit my father used to listen to. stop hating on older music uve never learned about if u dont know what theyre aBOUT. ez
@themanhatedbyall what the fuck are you talking about, its simply the same sample. Manson stole that sample from Depeche Mode. Not to mention that instrument wise it's very different. Do your research dummie.

@TristanMODZ Nah it sounds very commercial to me, like he is trying to get this song onto MTV or something. Ive noticed that about apathy i think he is trying to break away into the mainstream.
This was inspired by Priscilla Presley's book Elvis And Me, where she described their relationship. Martin Gore of Depeche Mode said: "It's a song about being a Jesus for somebody else, someone to give you hope and care. It's about how Elvis was her man and her mentor and how often that happens in love relationships - how everybody's heart is like a god in some way, and that's not a very balanced view of someone, is it?"
For the love of christ....Johnny Cash is not the original artist.
Martin Gore wrote the song for their 1989 album Violator. Cash covered it for his album in 2002 that was a majority of covers...including his cover of NIN's Hurt.
It's 2009...can't you kids learn how to use google or wikipedia before spouting shit out.
why the fuck is it every time i come to check out some AP, someone has to compare him to Lil Wayne....i mean, come on. Wayne reminds me of diarrhea, it flows but its all shit!

Don't listen to Lil Wayne a lot now, but I liked his older shit.
It's sad tho that you think just because you listen to "real hip hop" (supposedly) you think you're better than them or that it means your opinion is worth more.
If I listen to real hip-hop, my opinion is obviously worth more than people who listen to "rappers" like Soulja Boy and think they know hip-hop.
I guess it's hard to blame kids today though. They don't really know any better. They just listen to what ever the radio plays for them, and what ever they see on TV. They get taken advantage of by record labels looking to make a quick buck.
All I have to say is 2Pac, Biggie, Big Pun, and Big L must be rolling in their graves w/ rap today. Its sad.
You can't really put Soulja Boy and Kanye & Wayne in the same category.
And, kids are going to listen to stupid shit, what can you do. You really think kids want to listen to intellectual shit like Ap, Immortal Technique, and Canibus? Nah, they won't something to dance to. But those kids got the right to listen to whatever they want without people tellin them to listen to "real hip hop".
Growing up in the 90's, all we listened to was that kind of rap music. Canibus was/is the shit! We didn't really have "dance rap". We didn't have "something to dance to" as you put it. It was all head-nod shit and stuff to just bounce to, so I think that's a lame excuse.
Yeah, they have the right to listen to whatever they want but they better not be calling themselves "hip-hop fans" when they know nothing about hip-hop culture or the history. They're just pop culture conformists.
let me start off by sayin FUCK the mainstream aight...shit is faker than pam andersons titties man...dont even open ur mouth about hip hop if you listen to lil wayne
Totally, the mainstream wasn't so bad before, but you know what ruined it? This r&b bullshit. I mean, i can stand disco, or that anarchist 90's rock, and alot of other trends but this shitty rap period has to go!
please listen to fundamental for christ sakes, I'm tired of hearing bout lil wayne, flo rida and fuckin soulja boy they're a disgrace to fuckin rap all they do is make shit songs for 12 yr old girls. fuckin horrible examples for future artists in rap.
dude listening to good music doesn't make you smarter. i mean most lil wayne fans are dumb but sometimes intelligent people just have bad taste. dont hate on the fans hate on the labels and artists who sold out.
i think you can hate on the fans more so than the labels depending on the age of the fan. granted, kids don't know any better so they just listen to whatever is on the radio...it's not really their fault.
i was born in '83, pretty much raised on the rap of the '90's when rap was in it's prime. anybody in the same boat as me listening to bullshit like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, Kanye's crybaby shit, Asher Roth, that southern finger-snapping rap, etc should be able to know it's BULLSHIT.
i guess it doesnt matter who's to blame. i feel your pain man. but really all u can do as a true fan is just stick to underground rap until it resurfaces. because it will.
I think it's going to have to resurface, so I hope you're right. I think a lot of people are getting tired of the bubble gum rap in the mainstream right now. And that has to include the record labels b/c record sales are down...and I don't think it has all that much to do with downloading. If the radio is only going to play one-hit wonders, obviously people arent going to buy the album.
Check out Slaughterhouse: its Royce Da 5'9, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, and Crooked I. Listen to "Woodstock".
As an emcee myself, I would never sign to a major label but I hope to reach mainstream fans. Because a lot of indie rappers are content being in the underground community. But I think that lil wayne has so many fans because ppl think its the best stuff out there. They simply dont know that underground rap exists.
I got your reply on that Slaughterhouse video. How hot is that shit? After hearing what some people refer to as "fire", Slaughterhouse must be lava! 4 fucking BEASTS on the microphone! They have like four songs on YouTube that leaked already. "Woodstock", "Move On", "Onslaught", and "Fight Club". All quality tracks. They're one of the few groups that actually have the ability to bring hip-hop back. Keep your fingers crossed, bro!
It shouldn't be solely up to the artist to bring hip-hop back. Underground music can become mainstream without them signing to record labels simply through word of mouth. It just takes work.
i agree but the problem here is main stream music is not rap/hip hop any more...well to me at least its gonna take a very long time for real hip-hop to come back these kids dont know what they are talking about when they sing ....they lost there roots
Naw thats not it. Its not about that. Its about the media. People are basically just sheep. And if mtv or bet says wayne is the best then people just baa in succession. Rap does live. Its just underground. This dude said that to me a while back on here and now I know its true. There is some AMAZING shit out today. But unless you know how to dig, you wont find it. Rap is better now than ten or fifteen years ago in its golden era. Its just underground. You gotta ask somebody whats up and whos real
It doesn't matter how you look at it, the industry is all bullshit. And beleive me I now there's plenty of good shit out there. But if good shit went mainstream, it would be easier to get and maybe people wouldn't be such damn sheep.
Well in a way it is mainstream. I mean its no tlike you cant get it. What would be the point if you couldnt get it? Ya know. Anyway I think people jsut ride jocks because its the popular thing to do. Its rare if someone can think for themselves now days. Everyone wants to do what everyone else is doing. And in that situation its easy for the carrismatic and the forceful to come in and rule. But I judge things on pure talent. Idk. Its actually a scientific fact that when people get into groups...
apathy is one of the greatest... ive tried to have a few of my friends start to listen to him and the underground scene but they just dont get it... actually once i said put on some apathy and one of them said no put on some real shit like lil wayne... i just started laughing
do it like i do ... first of all .. let them hear some jedi mind tricks ..AFTER THAT .. lead them to AOTP ..after AOTP.... they ar OPEN MINDET !!! (it worked)
Talking about Lloyd banks and G-Unit fucking suck...Deep or Just plain good rap/hip-hop is Eminem,Apathy, Vinnie Paz, AOTP Immortal Technique and all them
Ap's a shark in a sea of fish. So many rappers to kill, such little time.

They're just pop culture conformists.

let me start off by sayin FUCK the mainstream aight...shit is faker than pam andersons titties man...dont even open ur mouth about hip hop if you listen to lil wayne
itzFundamental 2 years ago 6
Haha, awesome reply! I totally agree.
Kras3169 2 years ago
Totally, the mainstream wasn't so bad before, but you know what ruined it? This r&b bullshit. I mean, i can stand disco, or that anarchist 90's rock, and alot of other trends but this shitty rap period has to go!
CursedLink666 2 years ago
please listen to fundamental for christ sakes, I'm tired of hearing bout lil wayne, flo rida and fuckin soulja boy they're a disgrace to fuckin rap all they do is make shit songs for 12 yr old girls. fuckin horrible examples for future artists in rap.

Amen man Amen..
Dexray0 2 years ago
dude listening to good music doesn't make you smarter. i mean most lil wayne fans are dumb but sometimes intelligent people just have bad taste. dont hate on the fans hate on the labels and artists who sold out.
piranha55x 2 years ago
i think you can hate on the fans more so than the labels depending on the age of the fan. granted, kids don't know any better so they just listen to whatever is on the radio...it's not really their fault.
i was born in '83, pretty much raised on the rap of the '90's when rap was in it's prime. anybody in the same boat as me listening to bullshit like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, Kanye's crybaby shit, Asher Roth, that southern finger-snapping rap, etc should be able to know it's BULLSHIT.
Kras3169 2 years ago
i guess it doesnt matter who's to blame. i feel your pain man. but really all u can do as a true fan is just stick to underground rap until it resurfaces. because it will.
piranha55x 2 years ago 2
I think it's going to have to resurface, so I hope you're right. I think a lot of people are getting tired of the bubble gum rap in the mainstream right now. And that has to include the record labels b/c record sales are down...and I don't think it has all that much to do with downloading. If the radio is only going to play one-hit wonders, obviously people arent going to buy the album.
Check out Slaughterhouse: its Royce Da 5'9, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, and Crooked I. Listen to "Woodstock".
Kras3169 2 years ago
As an emcee myself, I would never sign to a major label but I hope to reach mainstream fans. Because a lot of indie rappers are content being in the underground community. But I think that lil wayne has so many fans because ppl think its the best stuff out there. They simply dont know that underground rap exists.
piranha55x 2 years ago 3
I got your reply on that Slaughterhouse video. How hot is that shit? After hearing what some people refer to as "fire", Slaughterhouse must be lava! 4 fucking BEASTS on the microphone! They have like four songs on YouTube that leaked already. "Woodstock", "Move On", "Onslaught", and "Fight Club". All quality tracks. They're one of the few groups that actually have the ability to bring hip-hop back. Keep your fingers crossed, bro!
Kras3169 2 years ago
hells yeah
piranha55x 2 years ago
It shouldn't be solely up to the artist to bring hip-hop back. Underground music can become mainstream without them signing to record labels simply through word of mouth. It just takes work.
RedCommenter 2 years ago 2
i agree but the problem here is main stream music is not rap/hip hop any more...well to me at least its gonna take a very long time for real hip-hop to come back these kids dont know what they are talking about when they sing ....they lost there roots
rg3519 2 years ago 2
Naw thats not it. Its not about that. Its about the media. People are basically just sheep. And if mtv or bet says wayne is the best then people just baa in succession. Rap does live. Its just underground. This dude said that to me a while back on here and now I know its true. There is some AMAZING shit out today. But unless you know how to dig, you wont find it. Rap is better now than ten or fifteen years ago in its golden era. Its just underground. You gotta ask somebody whats up and whos real
BigBearfromthe206 2 years ago
It doesn't matter how you look at it, the industry is all bullshit. And beleive me I now there's plenty of good shit out there. But if good shit went mainstream, it would be easier to get and maybe people wouldn't be such damn sheep.
piranha55x 2 years ago 2
Well in a way it is mainstream. I mean its no tlike you cant get it. What would be the point if you couldnt get it? Ya know. Anyway I think people jsut ride jocks because its the popular thing to do. Its rare if someone can think for themselves now days. Everyone wants to do what everyone else is doing. And in that situation its easy for the carrismatic and the forceful to come in and rule. But I judge things on pure talent. Idk. Its actually a scientific fact that when people get into groups...

For minimum wage, your miniscule brain
Is tryin' so hard to configure this rigorous trainin'
I'm sprainin' ya ligaments, aimin' to cripple kids, aimin'
The barrel, I'll bury you, effortlessly faggots effin' with me
Will get blown into fragments and left in debris, did he mention I'm deadly?
Leave three bitches widows
I'm back from the dead without Beatrix Kiddo
joeyjp94 2 years ago 2
Listen up closely, focus your brain
Rappers approach me, foes'll get slain
Slash and slowly open your veins
Over and over and over again
Verses are perfect, a virtual genius
A person could say I'm their personal Jesus
Rise in a battle of fire like phoenixes
Crazy, I'll even rock '80's rock remixes
So pray to me, every day faithfully
Facin' me's basically leavin' you fatally wounded and wasted
