@davidgoodman85 Who says nanites have to use electronics? Current nanotechnology is focused on molecular shape and chemical interactions. Future nanotech could easily make use of spintronics or something even more advanced, and be completely immune to EMP.
@westofcolumbus I'm not sure where development in nano-technology was when this series was made, nor did i realise such things were possible. However, as much as i'd like to believe that this perfect excuse, where the writers are as versed as you, and equally believed the general public to be so versed in nanotechnology; not to even mention EMP as a possible solution because it's that obvious it cannot be electronic...i remain rather doubtful.
