I'll give credit to the one caller who openly admitted to voting in favor of keeping his money over gaining his civil rights. That's pretty much the reason why the other callers voted a straight Repub ticket as well, they just didn't have the courage to say so.

I believe a good part of the reason we did not see ENDA get brought to the floor for a vote, or repeal of DADT or repeal of DOMA all are because the Republican Party all vote as a block against what the leadership of that party says they need to. While the Democrats did a poor job of marshaling their troops unlike the Republicans, I see little good to come in the struggle for Civil Rights of all LGBTQ Americans by voting for the party of NO. Fiscal generally means Social Conservative also.
