It wasn't just an act of kinds, and I would be the first to say that in a lot of way he was an example of chivalry. In many cases he was better then the christian knights who were nobles and had an "exclusive right" to chivalry in the middle ages. And I am fine discussing history, politics, geo-political economy, economics (both micro and macro) and even geo-political history.

As far as chopping fingers off, you quoted GOD, stating that HE was going to smite non-believers. Nowhere did you quote god commanding muslims to smite non-believers. The fact is that the quran commands muslims to defend themselves when attacked, no more. For, it says "do not be aggressive, god does not love the aggressor".

Furthermore, this is not an admonition for muslims always to be violent, it is with regard to a particular circumstance. Ok, I misunderstood your verse, I admit it, but you misunderstand it as well, because you think it is a commandment to kill all non-believers, which it isn't. it is a command to kill certain people because they sinned. As far as ordering the death of all non-believers, isn't that what christianity does? It commands christians to kill witches, and witches are simply people who worship other gods! Anyway, the idea of "reforming a religion" is absurd. Religion is different for each believer.

Yes, and they are all in the context of self defense when muslims are under attack. This is not a new concept with abrahamic religions, they all hold that those outside the faith are sinners, that they will attack the believers, and when they do, the believers must defend themselves.

Iraq and afghanistan were in bad shape before, (mostly because of us) but now they are FAR worse than they were before we invaded! I'm surprised you didn't know that. They are not paid the market price, why would we do that? If we paid them billions of dollars a year, and then paid the market price for the oil, then how foolish would we be? And please, don't put forward the theory that muslims are incapable of drilling wells! That would be incredibly bigoted and racist. The fact is that drilling wells is not that difficult, if muslims can build huge mosques and other structures, I think they can handle punching a hole in the ground.

Of course they don't drill for themselves! Because we control their countries and make sure that american companies do all the drilling. It works out better for the dictators too, because they can spend all their time in the brothels of europe instead of building up their own industry.
