  • Can i buy one of those M3 LED and use the piece of the head in a old one? It was my father maglite and i'm kind of attach to it. The body is all scratched and bumped. Made in America... The best! Greetings from Belgium.

  • Excellent Review! Keep it up! :)

  • I have to agree with you have Have the 2 mag-lites one is a 4D cell and one is 6 D Cell. I work in Security and they are a life saver the light they provide is flawless and the protection they provide in self defence situations is second to none.

  • How does the LED compare to the regular version on the D cells? I'd like to get one to go with the incandescent's that I have.

  • @forrest225 The led Bulbs provide 50 percent more light and the battery's last twice as long

  • you sound like seth rogen

  • Some new ones I got recently have the run time listed. Run time on the LED 3 D cell at 72 hours. The 2 D cell states 9 hours. There is a brighter (little bit brighter) 2 D cell with a 8 hour runtime.

  • Really great review, enjoyed watching the video. I'm trying to get my hands on a 4 D cell Maglite soon. I want one for preparedness and also doubled as a self defense weapon for my car and home.

  • Seth Rogan?

  • why is seth rogen talking about flashlights?

  • What are u doing in the aviation ind?

If i have the right to ask.

  • @AlfonsFromAtech was an electrician

  • i have the silver one and thats very bright

  • Thats awesome, I'm an aircraft mechanic too working midnights. Gotts to have a good flashlight. Maglite is the best bang for the buck. I have a 3d led too and like it better than my $120 stinger!!! Both lights made in USA!!!

  • They cost lke 33 dollars at walmart or target. Thats just the maglite. go to Home Depot and you can get the 3 d cell maglite and mini mag LED for 33 including taxes.. or go to costco.

  • 14 Bucks Dam.

  • you sound like seth rogan

  • What battery type is needed for this flashlight? and how many batteries does the flashlight need?

  • @TheNewRiflemanBob three "d" cell batteries

  • @TheNewRiflemanBob at 0:11 you can see it

  • Hey I have one but its not like yours tho look at my video

  • Thanks Seth!

  • lol...everybody touches my flashlight

  • i bought this flashlight just alittle bit after it came out last summer sometime used it alot havent replaced the batteries once and ive probabaly got about two days runtime more or less the beem is so bright tht at this camp i went to i shined it all the way across the camp at the main hall at night and it was about 500 yards maybe 800 yards away and people all the way at the hall were screaming turn it offf !!!!

  • The wonderful thing about mag lite is 1. the white light lamp .. when you shine it at something its the natural color it doesnt look like a glowing blue alien LED garbage ... the adjustable cone helps alot for spot lighting and if you need an area light when walking .. its a wonderful torch .. mag lite is the best !!!!

  • Fuck led mag lite original lamp is the best .. a 2d maglite is all you need ..

  • nice, sombody who has an interest in maglites as much as i do.

so far i have the 2xAA LED (x2), the original 2xAA, and the 3xD original.

as well as a 3xAAAA Streamlight pen light and about 5 of those little cheap flashlights you had in your video.

my next flashlight will be either the 3xD LED MAGLITE or the 2xD LED MAGLITE but i just cant decide......

    anywho, good video.

  • @6Camel6Finger6 For me i like the 2D .. they do the same as a 3D and are much lighter and shorter!!! And cheaper !! I got my 2D at wal mart for 15 bucks

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa sounds good, i was doing some research and the 2D is actually brighter, the only advantage of the 3d is the battery life.

  • @6Camel6Finger6 Duh lol i never considered the battery life would be better lol slow on my part .. but yeah overall i will always choose my lil 2 D i just like its size and weight

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa i was saying the ONLY advantage is the extended battery life, like most would think its brighter, but its not. its actually less bright opposed to the 2d. thats the point i was trying to make.

you didnt have to be a smartass about it.

  • @6Camel6Finger6 Yeah i figured you would take that as hostile against you .. but i was actually saying duh to myself .. i was trying to think why a 3d light would be any better and was pointing out that I never thought of the extended battery life ... wasnt pointed towards you it was towards me .. nostalgic moment on my part

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa ahhhh, okay now i get it.

    lol

  • I have a 3 D-cell 'Vari-Beam' flashlight from 1982 (before they were branded 'Maglite) and it is still going strong! Used by my uncle who worked offshore in the oil industry, it was passed to my grandad who used it daily as a driver for nearly 20 years. Passed onto me in 2004 when my grandad passed away, it kicked about in my kit-bag, got used a lot from Iraq to Iceland, and I now use it daily in the police. Fitted a LED conversion and new lens, it carries it's scars with pride! GREAT PRODUCT!!

  • these r very good flash lights because they are reliable and are tough. I have 2 mag lites a 3 D cell and a 2 D cell and my 2 Dcell got corroted and will not work for anything so that's the only problems I ever had with these lights. Also DONT drop one on ur foot because I did that and broke or fractured my foot.

  • I've seen one get run over by a cargoplane and still work !

  • A thumbs up for sounding like Seth Rogen. I wonder where you're from.

  • Hurry up and open the fucking thing...

  • 3d maglite may not be the brightest, but has a decent price and doubles nicely as a metal club that isnt considered a weapon.... : P

  • SETH ROGEN!!!!

  • dude u sound just like seth rogan lol

  • I have the 2006 LED version, I have the same batteries in it, from last summer(!). I´ve installed the kryptonbulb to drain them out, I want to change the batteries, but I can´t just change them, when they´re 3/4 full...

  • How durable is the LED module compared to the original configuration? Also, are the LED modules sold separately?

  • @bluecollarcanuck there are upgrade kits so to speek avail for the larger maglights

they are just bulb swaps and the shock resistance is supposed to be good i have never had a failure so i guess i give them a thumbs up

  • I bought 1 of these a few months ago because someone gave me a gift certificate for Canadian Tire and I didnt really need anything from Canadian Tire.

So I figured it would be cool to have the exact same flashlight that cops have.

i havnt used it much. just sits in the closet waiting for a power outage or something. but very bright and very tough

  • Oh btw, check out bust a cap. It's a pointed tip for the maglites end cap and can break glass in case you are trapped in your car. Also can be used to knock an attacker out.

  • Pretty dam bright flashlight. I love this one.

  • I just bought one a couple of hours ago. Its awesome!

  • Haha! I dropped my 3D with the LED upgrade. It was not turned on at the time. It landed directly on the tail-cap. Picked it up, press the button, IT DOESN'T WORK!!! I put the bulb back in and the flashlight works fine.

I pait $20 for the upgrade LED. I could have and should have just spen $30 for a new 3D LED.

  • From everything I've read the D cell maglites have horrible heat dispersion so the led brightness goes down significantly after a few minutes. The only thing I really like about maglites at this size is that they can be used as weapons if necessary. I wish maglites really would get serious about actual led technology. Companies like Fenix and 4Sevens blow them away in terms of actual output.

  • @martinaee

for weapon you better use glock entreching tool.

  • do you get a doughnut when you focus your beam for far throw?

  • @samstterhamstteer No, when I focus for a further distance I do not.

  • How did you get such a good deal!!?

  • im thinking about buying this same flashflight

  • It's a nice one for money for sure.

  • @quest8899 i got it (with LED upgrade) and it really is a very nice flashlight.

It doesn't matter if you drop it, you could even throw with it but i didn't try that :P

I dropped it once and now i have got some damage to my wooden floor, you can't see even a scratch on the maglite.

With the LED upgrade you have more light and you battery holds on a lot longer.
