I love how "American" Michael Bay makes his films. The colors, the sunsets, and how in movies such as Armageddon and here in the rock he chooses little towns in the middle of the country and the environment is old and rugged. Love it.

Technically he should be giving himself 2 shots for nerve gas exposure. The gas scene in "Three Kings" is dead-on. First shot stops the gas from shutting your nerves down. The second shot stops the first shot from killing you.

I loved how upbeat and happy the ending was (thanks to the score by Hans Zimmer) compared to the dark tone of the movie, and in retrospect, the setting of the movie, on a former prison island that was the site of many bloody escape attempts.
