  • After many calibrations, I get 4 as the frame that I should aim to hit. I punch that in, find the spread I'd like, etc.. However, after repeating the process, and checking if I did what I should have done correctly with the coin flip trick, I almost always get back a nearby delay/the delay I need, BUT with a single frame too soon. I tried a spread with an earlier frame to see if that would help, but the frame I hit is one too early again. Would you have ay clue why? Help appreciated, thank you.

  • @Oikakeru I've had random frame problems before. Just adjust your approach so you aim a frame later/earlier.

  • Can I use the Check Seeds by Stats rather than IVs one? Since I don't have AR

  • @RazorXXTreme Of course. As long as you get your seed, you'll be fine.

  • @bearsfan092drums Alright thanks. I got 14 seconds every time, so that worked out, but out of the thirty times I tried it, I only got two delays that were consistent 596 and 592, they both came out twice :(

  • @bearsfan092drums does this method still work for 5 gen?

  • @noclu4 For C Gear sort of, but you don't really need to do it. For Standard, not at all.

  • What a fucking faggot why do you have an AR and are trying to rng...Fucking, what about the people without AR's...Thats why im trying to rng in the first place.

  • @GavinGlycerine Excuse me sir, but what if I happen to be gay? Besides, the AR makes it easy for me to check IV's. If you can't figure out how to adapt it to your situation, perhaps you shouldn't be trying RNG abuse.

  • @bearsfan092drums Sorry bearsfan I was raging like a noob >_> Lmfao.

  • How did you come up with 22 seconds from the 35'S mark? Also everytime we try to do the calibration phase we need to change the date before we do it?

  • This isn't working for me at all. :(

  • What if my DS is damaged and can't reset? can i go to the load up screen and press "Pokemon Pearl" at :00?

  • @k3v1nh Yep. Calibration is very flexible, which allows you to work with AR's, flashcarts, emulators, soft resets, hard resets, and about everything else too.

  • Every time I put IVs into RNG reporter it says Invalid, please check Date/Time or it says invalid IVs for this time. I'm using an AR for IVs, and I'm synched perfectly to another clock, hit the red button on the AR at 0 seconds, go ingame, but no matter what I do, I still get invalid IVs. What am I doing wrong?

  • @SoulZDepression You respect the fact that the DS works by military time?

  • my L button is broken so i cannot soft reset. Would starting the game from the home screen at 0 seconds work as well?

  • @maradoification Yeah it works the sam, soft reset=pressing the game on the title screen, don't worry we are on the same damn boat. But, quick question @bearsfan- Is there an easier way to rng for shinies, or is it only the fml way of like 568 taps?

  • @IzzyRamirez7 You'd use the Time Finder to find a low frame shiny egg.

  • Do I have to use the IV's to find my seconds and delay? Can I find them using a pokemon's EV's?

  • Yeah I think I'm doing it wrong too, my delay value was actually 0 so that kinda weirded everything, but I found its 14, I really dont know how, but thaats what I got, I even checked it over and over, funny thing is it might not have been the ar, but when i did take it off it was fine

  • Can a AR screw up your time? Because when i look up my seed I get 0 seconds.

  • @IzzyRamirez7 0 seconds is a legitimate time. If you're loading at :44 of a minute or something like that, it's quite conceivable. The seconds value is based on the actual time you loaded (ie 2:33:32 would give you a seconds value of 32). I have never seen the Action Replay ever effect an RNG value.

  • @bearsfan092drums So, my time is 4:45:00 and i have zero seconds so i put "continue" on the main screen at this time, or is it when i hard reset, also do i just keep trying to get my delay time perfect, its 639, but there is a bunch of really close ones that have crappy stats, is that luck or I have to be really good at this?

  • @IzzyRamirez7 You have to hit continue at your time. You have to get your delay perfect. Since this video was made (it's almost two years old), we use timers more than the "mash button" method, but if you do this method, it's kinda luck based, but you do get better at controlling it and being more consistent. To this day, I can hit 621 delay on my diamond within three tries.

  • @bearsfan092drums So regardless, it takes about 14 seconds to get to continue screen, so at 4:45:00 is when I hit continue, regardless of the 0 i got from calibration, and by timers you mean like a stopwatch? Sorry, if im being buggy, I'm just been trying for a while and I'm new at this

  • @IzzyRamirez7 Listen, I think you're doing this wrong. Load the game when your DS displays :00 for the seconds value. Check your seed ingame after loading ASAP. That seconds value is how long it takes for you to load your game. By timers, I mean use PikaTimer (actually not recommended due to inaccuracy on some computers) or EonTimer/ZomgTimer (high quality program)

  • Can you do all this without action replay?

  • @TruMasterLive Yeah, I just do it mainly for IV checking purposes.

  • From 5:35 What do you mean? I understand you read it, but do you know what your reading? Would you be able to use another explanation so i can confirm.

  • @disembark It basically means subtract your calibrated seconds value from the target time of your seed.

  • Also for the Calibration, Smogon says you don't need to know the IVs and you can just put the pokemon stats in. Why would you mention IVs and have people go through the trouble of getting them when they dont have to?

  • Do i need my SID for this?

  • i still dont understand, lol. Could you re-do this part and try to make it clearer (without any AR explanation).

Try to make the process look smooth and it'de be nice to see a step by step intruction in the description.

  • does hard resetting mess up the calibration at all?

  • @Trriiggaa Nope. I've done it to calibrate with an Action Replay. Calibration is super flexible as long as you do the same procedure.

  • can i find the seed by stats?

  • I´m just new to this, so far I´ve get just the basics... but I know I will eventually make it!

Just one question? Why you have to go as far as possible to the game? I´ve seen and read that everywhere to do this... but why? What happens if you do not go that fast, for example... what if I see the game´s intro?

  • When I RNG abuse for eggs or wild/legends, do I have to recalibrate every time? This seems like a very tedious activity.

  • i would like to know why u wrote 37 since u reset it at 9:38:00???

  • how did you get so many master balls?

  • @JimmyTheSaint12st he used action replay

  • Umm whenever I do this the rng reporter says it cant match the ivs to a delay or something like that but when I try putting in the stats it works fine.

P.S. I'm catching magikarp lvl 54+ in the resort area , and doing everything it says in the vid.

  • please, send the download link for the RNG programm that you use

  • I'm also playing HG...Do you HAVE TO catch a Pokemon and enter its IVs for RNG to work?

  • @spectre218 Well, how else are you going to know what seed you're on?

  • I love how you have the script to the side of your screen on the notepad doc xD, out of curiosity why don't you use hypercam to record your stuff, you know higher quality and all. Still very useful tutorial thanks.

  • @PokemonTrainerAndrew I use a physical camera so people can see the physical actions I'm taking.

  • @ReDeiBoO Took me probably about 6 hours the first time, but when I did it, the information was a bit more sparse. We didn't even think of using the journal for frame advancement when we first started working with eggs.

  • @ReDeiBoO It's Year/Month/Date. This isn't always the customary way we do it in America, but RNGreporter displays it this way. It's easy enough to figure out though, as you already did.

  • @ReDeiBoO Same way as you calibrate in DPPt: Catch pokemon, check IV's, win.

  • @ReDeiBoO I think that will work. I haven't looked into the stats to seed details on HGSS, sorry.

  • do i have to hit the right delay on the mark?

  • @shadowX777z If you didn't have to, it would be too easy. You must hit it exactly.

  • the calibration has me to the poin of giving up.. its brutal lol

  • Since you soft resetted, how come you still had your codes on? I have to re-enter them D:

  • @drygdtg I used a flashcart with AR support in order to simulate the circumstances of SRing that a regular retail cart user would face, but to still have the convenience and speed of AR codes.

  • what do you mean from 5:36-5:54?

  • @PinoyJbwkzFan It means that once you find a spread that has your delay on it, subtract your calibrated seconds from the target seconds.

  • Is it okay if right after I caught my pokemon, saved then had to shut off my game to put in my ar ?

And is it good or bad to get a total of 22 seconds?

  • @ColoradoAvalanche60

Not okay. The game reseeds when you reload.

  • Im just curious, every time I SR my AR codes stop working so I can't seem to do this fast enough and I end up having 1000+delay at 20-30 seconds..how does your AR continue to work?

  • @snow0leopard Well, for this video, I actually used a flashcart with AR support that way it would be similar to the process non-AR'er. This meant I could keep my AR working through a soft reset. With an AR, you'll have to hard reset (ie use the power button). Synch your ds clock to an external clock and hit the red start button with codes already loaded (so it doesn't save when you hit start) at :00 of the next minute.

  • Can you use fly to get to an area with level 50+ Pokemon without messing up the frame?

  • @baboon1010101 According to the original thread on smogon, just so long as you save where you can catch a wild Pokemon lv. 50+ and you then fly directly to Solaceon to put your parents in a daycare, it will not mess up the frame.

  • my delays seem to be either odd or even and not only odd or only even.(all the times i did the calibrationsteps there wasn't a 3rd gen pokemon game in the GBA-slot)

is this a problem for future RNG abuse?

  • @keesbeest Well, you'll just have to make sure your calibrated information is good as you feel it needs to be considering that you'll have more possible delays in a smaller time duration. It's needs to be as accurate as you feel comfortable with. It's not a real problem, but it makes it slightly more tedious.

  • Comment removed

  • when you calibrate your RNG info do you only have to find the value once or each time that you want to IV/egg abuse?

  • @drummerholt1234 Once per game/setup. If I already calibrated with Diamond and an AR, I'll need to calibrate again if I do Diamond only. If I do HG without an AR, again I'll need to calibrate, and again if I do that with an AR. If I do Diamond on a flashcart or an emulator, I'd have to calibrate again, so on so forth.

  • what is RNG and how do u RNG?

  • Is this good?

590-604 Delays? All are 14 seconds, though I only hit 602 twice.

Lol while doing this, a shiny appears. Epic phailz...

  • @OmegaForteX9 Whatever data you feel is comfortable. I'd certainly say that seems useable.

  • how do you check iv's with the tm's

  • @MrPeoplesChamp112

Action Replay. If you can't do that, find another way to check your seed.

  • Sup bears, what's the regular calibrated delay for Pokémon Diamond? I want to RNG my ID and SID. Thanks in advice.

  • @digitaljok3r Typically it's in the 615-629 range, with 619-623 being the most common. However, I can't guarantee you'll get these results, which is the point of calibration, no?

  • How do you get your callibrated delay

  • somehow the IV checker isnt working, can you give me the exact steps to get the first 6 TMS to show IVs?

  • @marikishtar9000 Sorry, this is a RNG abuse video. I don't really deal with people's Action Replays

  • Lul, I see your script, xD

  • Im calibrating with the RNG, and bearsfan092 sais I have to change the date. I used the current date for round 1 (18-3-2010), but what dates should round 2-10 be?

  • Do you have to soft reset? Because for some reason my DS won't let me.

  • @Talemwah No, just make sure to calibrate by loading the game at :00. Your seconds value should reflect the change and give you an idea how long it takes to load your game from a hard reset. That's the point of calibration: to find your data regardless of your set up.

  • I dont know what I could be doing wrong... I hard reset exactly on the minute and using Sweet Scent, catch a pokemon. I have the Date and Time correct but when I enter the IV values, it gives me a time of 5-7...

  • Is it normal that I'm getting 6 seconds instead of 14-15 now?

  • @ArSYniiC No. The 14-15 seconds value sounds about right. 6 seconds is much too short and I can almost guarantee you're doing something wrong you weren't doing before.

  • Can I hard reset? Whenever I SR, my AR IV check code doesn't work.

  • @ArSYniiC Yep, just make sure you did hard resets during calibration or the entire thing is impossible.

  • Changing your date???? So every time you are narrowing down your Calibration Phase to the one that comes out the most. That is your calibration phase? But you said change your date. What do you mean by this?

  • You said repeat this step. So does that mean I exit my RNG reporter and reclick it again Or do I just click DDPPT seed finder again and keep writing down my initial second and delay until the one that pops up the most would be my real initial seed.?

  • Hi, i would like to ask. Before you start the calibration phase, do you need to input ID and SID immediately? and how do you find out the target time? sorry for asking so many questions.

  • The ID and SID are only to get shiny Pokémon; whether you input them or not won't make a difference to this. You "target time" will depend on what seed your using, and you can use RNG Reporter's Seed to Time function to find a good one.

  • yea for some reason im getting even and ood frames on my pearl ive gotten really good on my platinum at rng abusing but my pearl is giving me a hard time it keeps giving me delays that seem random....

  • When i put the IV's in the seed finder it says no results found. Am i doing smoething wrong?

  • Yeah, check to make sure the date/time/etc is correct, as well as the IV's you are inputting.

  • lol, I can see your speech on the screen ^_^;

  • Is there any way to get your delay lower? For some reason my delay range was 594 - 604, now I'm only hitting 604. Any tips or advice to get down to 594 it seems my best match is at that delay.

  • @DTruth27

Try to hit the button consistently with no gaps. Any pauses add some serious delay.

  • All the examples I see about how to RNG abuse for anything (legends, eggs, etc.) all involve using a PC computer.

I use a MAC so how can you calculate the delay and other data you need in order pull off a successful SR on say..a Giratina-Origin from Platinum.

  • Well, this is going to be a smartass answer, so... buy a PC. Mingot is the guy who developed it and he's a PC guy, so you're kind of out of luck. He always said he'll make one for Mac just as soon as someone buys him one. :P

  • If you are using Leopard or later, install bootcamp or parallels and windows xp/vista. If not, maybe virtual pc? don't know how reliable that is though. Emerald RNG abuse is perfectly viable on a mac since emloop is a flash file.

  • Hi I'm trying to recalibrate now that I'm using my AR. I used to hit a consistent 14 but now I'm hitting 3 seconds. That seems terribly wrong to me. :/ What could be the issue?

  • I have a feeling I've responded to this question over at Smogon, but whatever.

    1. Get your DS clock synched to another clock down to the second.

    2. Hit the red start button on the AR screen at :00 and recalibrate for a new seconds value.

  • Yes you did and thanks very much for your response btw. Your simple suggestion of course solved the problem. :) I was lagging 10+ seconds behind my Vista clock. I certainly feel dumb. :O

  • well i was going to try RNG... lol not going to now its complicated and confuse the hell out of me

  • I'm about to buy an AR for my dsi,

But it's the type where you take it out and put the game in once it's loaded. I want to use the IV check code but will I be able to?

    (for getting frame data.)

  • Yes, but when you calibrate, instead of SR-ing at :00, hit the red start button at :00 and use the data you get from there.

  • couldnt we use the "find the intial seed by stat" feature instead of the IV one

  • Yes, so long as you find your seed, you're fine

  • @gggaaaaaarrraaa that's "Find Initial Seed by Stats" not "find the initial seed by stat"Just in case people were using the Find engine.

  • what iv check code do you use becasue the one i use doesnt work when i soft reset my game

  • No codes work with SRing. You need to use hard resetting (manually cycle the power).

  • But how did yours work?

  • Because I powered down the DS...

  • I'm trying to calibrate by hard resetting (I'm using an AR) and I noticed that the AR takes a little bit to go into game (a few seconds). My question is, does this matter? I wonder because I've been pressing 'Start' on the AR at around 58 seconds so that the game loads around :00. Should I be doing this or should I just click the 'start' at :00?

At 58 seconds, I hit between 18-19 seconds and 592-610 delay. If that helps with your answer.

  • The idea behind calibration is to find how many seconds it takes to reset, even when using Flashcarts or Action Replay. Just hit start at :00 and collect data from that.

  • why can you just soft reset earlier and sit at the date time badges ect?

  • Because then the delay counter is rising and you couldn't hit your seed.

  • Can you help me? I'm trying to find a shiny Regice I saved next to on my Platinum. I want to find a shiny one, but I'm proper newb to this and have no idea where the heck to start.

  • I refuse to answer questions like this.

  • xD Ok, I will stfu xD I did manage to find my thingy... my delay, but I have no idea how to use it. Apparently Smogon helps but I can't find anyhting. Maybe I must look closer =D

  • Sorry again, whats the most efficient way to add caught/defeated pokemon to your journal pages?

  • 1. Catch a pokemon on a date.

    2. Change date.

    3. Repeat Step 1.

  • Thanks again! If u care, i'll let u know how I go. I need to get my SID first but luckily I ran into a shiny roselia early in the game.

  • Great vid =) I'm getting into this stuff now. Sorry for generic question # 24 but when calibrating, for the pokemon I catch after I enter the game world, could it be Giratina in the torn world? I want to catch it shiny by abusing the RNG but it's the only high level pokemon I have access to. Thanks very much.

  • Yes, most legends (non roamers) and wild pokemon work by the same mechanics, so you could do this.

  • so how do you use your ar to check IVs when you do the soft reset? Dont you have to turn off the game to to get to the ar screen to pick the code you wanna use? When i soft reset my codes arent activated anymore, i have to do a hard reset to activate them again.

i hope this question makes sense

  • Okay, I have a quick question.

If you narrow the seconds and delay the way you explained, will the initial seed always be the same?(This method is ever-so-slightly confusing to me, and I'm planning on recording a tutorial on this)

  • The only way you can always get the seed you want is if you hit the exact second and delay. There is no other way.

  • Okay, thanks! This will make it alot easier to get a shiny Darkrai fromthe upcoming event.

  • That's it? Its almost the same as when you are looking for a good shiny natured egg. I did notice the seconds were almost always the same.

  • Kinda why I feel I didn't have to make a calibration video...

  • say if you didnt have an AR could go to an area that lvl 50+ pokemon appear and rare candy it to view the IV'S and not save so you can save your rare candy's ?

  • Oh yeah, for calibration for seconds and delay, that's perfectly fine.

  • Is there a way to get your AR codes to stay on after you soft reset? Same loedoc from smogon btw.

  • No, there isn't unfortunately. You have to power off your DS and power it back on. Flashcarts can soft reset can keep codes active though.

  • Does the program give you a time, in seconds of when to SR under the list of possible spreads? As in, when you plug in your delay information, and it comes up with a list of possible spreads, is there a time listed there that you would need to subtract your ~14 seconds from?

  • If you seriously can't subtract 14 seconds, then RNG abuse may not be for you. The program is a tool. It's not designed to think for you.

  • I think you misunderstood what I was asking, and I didn't really phrase it well. I was asking which number to subtract 14 seconds from, but I've figured it out. You also shouldn't be so rude and confronting to people.

Flurries from Smogon if we ever run into each other.

  • Well, I apologize then. You do have to realize how many retarded questions I (and many others) get about RNG abuse. My patience sometimes wears thin.

  • Thanks, haha I can see your "script" on screen.

  • Might be way off topic. But could you post your AR IV check code? Mine screws up pokémon's stats. Thanks in advance, and a useful video

  • Google Pojo AR Codelist. That site has a very good list of the essential codes, plus some ones I would advise against.

  • Dude thanks a ton helped out a lot

  • ooo emmm gee ou to eye doo et
