no, jack is really a futuristic time agent who went rouge when the time agency stole 2 yrs of his memory and then he took the name capt. john h from a regular captain of ww2 when he went to that time period to trick rose and the doctor....then they saved him from a bomb that he took to try to save them(the empty child/the doctor dances)
