Me gusta la satira que hace el que quiere la corbata que dice "Iglesia" para mi es una falta de respeto, que "lideres" religiosos quieran interponerse en la vida de la comunidad gay cuando una de las cosas que se supone que ensene la iglesia sea amor al projimo. La comunidad Gay son seres humanos y entiendo yo que el projimo es todo ser humano, no? Entonces, porque no respetar la forma de pensar de cada quien y vivir todos en paz? Soy straight, pero respeto a mi projimo como cristiana que soy.

Ya es hora de que en Puerto Rico se legalice el matrimonio entre parejas del mismo sexo y la adopción homoparental. Ya es así en España (país de sobre 40 millones de habitantes), Argentina (otro con casi 50 millones de habitantes) y en la Ciudad de México (con más de 10 millones de habitantes). También es legal en los estados de Estados Unidos donde más puertorriqueños hay como Connecticut y Massachusetts. Y la celebridad gay más conocida es de PR. Obviamente deberíamos ser los próximos.

No. This is necessarily how gays LOOK LIKE. It's just a party in the streets. Like a Brazilian Carnival. Luckily Puerto Rico is the most gay-friendly place in the Caribbean. Puerto Ricans have a deep appreciation for privacy, individual liberty and the ability to think for yourself, and education is at the highest in the region. There are many Puerto Ricans living in Massachusetts and Connecticut, both states with equal marriage. Many are of Spanish origin, and see what goes on there.

@muellerican have u even been to puerto rico?? they've even tried to pass laws so that gays cant marry/adopt/have rights!! and puerto rican culture is incredibly homophobic (mostly because of the church)... these people get mocked by onlookers and they are incorrectly marginalized by an ignorant society...

@waverunner6 Um...I live in Puerto Rico. And take a look back at what I wrote since I meant it to be placed within the context of the Caribbean. LGBT people are way worse off in Jamaica, Trinidad, the Dominican Republic and even Cuba. I say even since Vilma Espín, of the Castro family has been quite vocal about equal rights but other than that with all the bureaucracy that goes on in Cuba....PR is way ahead. Now let's compare PR to Canada, Amsterdam and well there you "ate my candies". :o)

@waverunner6 Who cares about "the Church". PR is not a theocracy. Puerto Rico is not a Christian country. Ask any rabbi. There are thousands of Puerto Rican Jews, Muslims, Agnostics and Atheists. There is not ONE Puerto Rican culture and that's part of the beauty. Otherwise the only option is to conform to the uneducated majority.
