  • I'm super bummed because my hair is too thin to do this.

  • omg you look so gorgeous! this is perfect <3

  • Oh how beautiful! Thank you for this tutorial :)

  • very easy to do...thanks so much

  • great tutorial, absolutely loved it! and you're very beautiful too! xo

  • You struck fear into my heart even as you educated me... I-I don't know how I feel.

  • *gasp* You're a mom?? Yay for babies! =)

  • this is perfect!! u couldnt have explained it better. thankyou:)

  • Beautiful! Still, it makes me wonder how long it took women to get ready in the 50's. Makes me grateful to live in a decade where I can afford to leave the house looking like the "Sultan of Sweatpants" once in a while.

  • wat era was Pompadour used? (:

  • I found myself humming the background music after watching this! I like the look. :D

  • @theroxeedoodle Awe, thanks love!!!

  • love it!

  • I really enjoy your tutorials because they're easy to follow. I had been having trouble doing a beehive for ages until I saw your tutorial.

I was married the same age as you, and I was 22 when I had my first son. I apparently still look quite young even with full makeup on, and it's quite fun watching people's faces when I tell them I have a 6 year old and see their eyes bug out when they do the math.

  • i love you(:

  • why kill me?

  • youreeeee adorableeee

  • :D I just try to think positively, when I'm older I'll still be young enough to do things with my husband ^__^ Aw thank you, my daughter is my world! My friend is the exact same mix as you, her mother is Japanese and her father is German. I can't wait for your new tutorials I've saved almost every single one!

  • @Hellomiso Oh, that's wonderful! Thank you so much... yes definitely, I have some more videos coming up soon :))

  • awsome,I got my hair like that right after the first try!

  • so pretty

  • Well Done!

  • How many times does it usually take to get this right? :) I love your tutorials. They're really inspiring.

  • pachuca style,,, one of the sexiest styles on a gurl ;)

  • That's awesome!!! Love it!!! Thanks! I was about to just cut some bangs! lol Great Tutorial!

  • @dearestcaroline Ugh, then don't do it, and do what YOU want to do. Why be so rude when it's so simple just to do something else.

  • @dearestcaroline no its not its gorgeous! if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all

  • @dearestcaroline Why would you say something so MEAN?! She is trying to HELP people. anyway, great look but I don't know what i would wear it too :)

  • i love your hairstyles<3 id love to do this with my hair but i have bettie bangs so im not sure if it would work. i usually do my pompadour flipped back and pinned but the way you just did makes it look alot better. thanks for all your amazing videos :]]

  • Yay! Now I need to try it (and I'll most likely fail the first ten times. ;] )

Spank you for posting this!!! :D

  • I love your videos. I always check your page first for a specific style I'm looking for. You don't use crazy tools, you don't rush anyone, but you don't go super-slow and bore the heck out of everyone.

Maybe it's just the camera losing 10 years, but do you get dirty looks from people when you're pushing around the baby carriage? My sister is a young mom as well, and people automatically think she's a teenage mom (despite the rock on her finger).

  • Thank you :)

I don't receive dirty looks, but I do receive surprised reactions. The one that gets me, is when people are in-shock that I was married PRIOR to having a baby.

I am a young mother... and I look quite a bit younger than what I am, but I try to hold myself well and with esteem, that I think gains me respect and also gives me back a little age. Sometimes society is so wrapped up in appearances :) Thanks again, dear! And congrats to your sis!!

  • Absolutely. I'm glad you don't let anything bother you at all, whether it's your age or your heritage. You're a tough cookie.

You're very beautiful, and it was really neat to hear that you do the guitar on some of your videos! You're probably the most interesting person I've seen on YouTube in a long time.

  • @StrawberryKoiVintage I get the opposite. I got married when I was 19 (I'm 22 now) and people are shocked that I don't have a baby -- as if the only reason to marry young is because you're pregnant. Anyway, you seem to be doing well for yourself and I'm sure you're a great mother and wife so that's all that really matters, right? I love your videos. I watch them all the time. I really like you're "how to tell if it's vintage" video. Very informative!

  • @StrawberryKoiVintage I had my daughter at 19 and I don't think there is anything wrong with that, I even had my baby prior to getting married but that doesn't make me less of a mom I'm married to my daughter's father and was with him for years prior to having her :] I'm also half korean so I look really young a lot of people thought I was 16! I dress more of an indie style than a vintage but I'd love to get more vintage pieces into my wardrobe!

  • @Hellomiso Oh, so neat to hear from another Eurasian! I bet your daughter is beautiful! I know people think I had mine too young, but don't really care.. the timing was good for us :))

  • @radiobath I had my daughter at 19 and I don't think there is anything wrong with that, I even had my baby prior to getting married but that doesn't make me less of a mom I'm married to my daughter's father and was with him for years prior to having her :] I'm also half korean so I look really young a lot of people thought I was 16! I totally understand your sister's position.

  • It takes like 10 times, my bangs usually go up to the bottom of my nose...thanks so much anyways, when you take it out, your bangs look really pretty... i love it:) this is the best video out there!

  • amm ,, i make it but its looks good

and my hair front its short ,

  • yes yes , thats what iam talking about

i love this style but i make it fast just with

Maske hair and some time going right or left of became big but this style you do it its make tha hair sticky , Thank you very mach i will do it after finish my homeworks

  • oh my gosh, thanks so much, you helped a lot... haaha, any way to do it with shorter bangs?

  • I think it really depends on how long your bangs are... or short as the case may be. If they are above your brow, your best bet is to just curl your bangs under, in a sort of Betty Page style... it wont look perfectly the same, but it will still have that perfectly vintage vibe :) If they are to your cheek or longer, I think with a little determination and practice you could make it work... just do less "rolling" :)

  • @NmaListiK ....ok? lol ^.^;;

  • HA HA i like that joke she did i'll kill u HA

  • my hair is too long and thick to do this :(

  • Honey are you also the one singing in the background? It's beautiful! And again, this is one of the clearest hair tutorials I've watched. Thank you so much for the great instructions!

  • I really like your style!

  • This is so cute! You have such a vintage feel to you, by the way. You're lovely!

  • I can't believe I've never heard of you before! You are one of my favorites already :D

  • Thank you for making this so straightforward and easy to follow... now getting it looking as nice as yours is another matter altogether lol but can't wait to try it all the same!

  • excellent if you dont want to cut hair in front for "betty bangs"

  • youre very atractive ..=) keep up the nice looks..

  • xP I did try to do this, and sadly my hair is too short. Something I'd suspected, but hoped would not have happened. xP

  • very excellent video :D

ur pomp looks siiick (in a good way) :)

  • Awe, thank you! :D

  • "i don't think my husband would like that...." lol :]

  • haha :3

  • Wow thank you so much!!!! I've been trying to learn how to do that properly for like a year!!!

  • awe, you're welcome :)

  • thak you!!! ive tried it and it works great because i only mostly use my shortest layer for my pompadour. thank you very much for posting this video because i dont have bangs and with this it'll look like i do and also im going rockabilly so it helps me out alot!!!! thanx again!!:):) p.s. i love the part when you say "ill have to track you down and kill you" lol i LOVE it!! :)

  • Comment removed

  • i love your video and it makes alot of sense but i have layers and my shortest 1 is 2 the bottom of my chin and the 2nd 1 is 2 the bottom of my neck and the 3rd 1 is 2 the middle of my back but idk if its possible 2 still do the pompadour?? do you think you could help me?(:

  • Thank you so much! :)

Well, layers can indeed make it more difficult, but not as difficult as a flat cut bang across the forehead. I definitely recommend doing a good amount of teasing to build the thickness to counteract the layers, and I also recommend pre-curling the hair so it wants to roll up naturally. With determination, I think it'll work :)

  • u need a bf

  • I don't think my husband would like that....

  • your videos are great. ive never done my pompadour that way im gonna try it lol btw love the pin curls awesome!

  • wow this makes the most common sense it is the easiest way i've ever seen to do this most people just say do a big pin curl in the middle of you forehead .... i've never seen the ponytail or first bobby pin part ... ingenious! btw i love your styles i am a classics fan too :)

  • Aww, thank you so so much! :D

  • i really like your videos :] its so good to see how to do all this i've been trying

  • cool girls like this one start off very good looking like this one...holy crap and then on top of that she's in tune with other things than just her current looks.. ahhhhh for the love of .......I want one of these throw back chic's...

  • ur hot .... and yeaa theres many ways u can do this .. but yeaaa thanks for the video

  • this is a great tutorial but i have a fringe already which makes it tricky. Is there a tutorial for people who already have bangs? or should i just use a big roller and hope for the best? :)

  • I think creating a pompadour with bangs would be very difficult, mostly depending on the bang type itself.

If your bangs are not especially short, you might try giving them a slight curl, tease them to hide flaws, and just pin at the roots (sort of like skipping the whole "roll up" procedure") I've heard it being done, so I would definitely experiment to see what you could get :)

Thank you so much, if I ever run into a tutorial, I will track you down and give you the link ;)

  • thanks for the advice. i have decided to grow my bangs a little bit longer than normal and use a roller on them to give them more bounce which i think should work

  • should i get my hair in layers or no layers

which one will help to get that style

  • No layers would help a little bit more, but my hair is rather layered and it is still possible, with extra determination :)

  • probably the less layers you have at least for that because you want it all the same length to be smooth and even

like i have mod bangs so this style pointless for me lol

  • ive never seen this techinique.

    wow.

    awesome.

  • haha, thank you much! :)

  • I did it in one try!! Guess you are gunna have to come kill me!! XD Thanks so much for making this video and all your others, I always go on youtube and rewatch your videos when i'm trying to decide how to do my hair when I'm going out! I wore this last night to a a BBQ at my hubby's friends place, and I dare say I looked real cute :D I did the pomp and a bit of curling around the ends of my hair for volume, pulled the rest of the front and top layer of the sides back and pinned with a big daisy

  • haha, yep, I'm going to have to kill ya! XD heehee, not really, I'm so glad it worked out for you :)

  • i dont really know how it is supposed to look actually x) id like to try a hippie look as well but really can't figure it out !

  • It's nice and looks authentic ! Would you by chance know how to achieve a kind of bohemian hippie look as well ? And if so could you please do a tutorial video for that ! Thanks for all the videos anyway <3 !

  • Thank you! Hmm... a bohemian hippie look... like tussled waves or something like that?

  • good job i will do this!

  • you are so pretty and talented... im jealous

  • Does It Make A Difference If you have Bangs?

  • It really depends on what your bangs are like... but most likely it will give you a lot of difficulty in making the pomp. Try experimenting with hairspray and teasing, and you might be able to blend the bang section with the section of hair just behind it :)

  • Thank you so much Ill try That Sometime =)

  • Kill me!??

  • haha, I was just playing :3

  • love your vids.

hate this depressing music you play during them tho

  • Don't make me cry! :'(

Now my music will be even sadder.

  • I did it in one try :)

  • Oh, it's on girl!!!

    ;)

  • haha bring it ^_^ j/k really great video though I love it!

  • LOL "I'll have to track you down and kill you" in your cute innocent voice. I love it.

    Thx for the tut.

  • Thank you! :D

  • I really love all of your videos. Great job as usual. Looking forward to the next one!

  • Oh thank you!!!

  • Beautifully done as usual. Your videos are always amazing, and really relaxing to watch too... you have a very soothing voice :)

  • Thank you so much!! That melts me, I have to say! =^_^=

  • This is AMAZING! Thanks for making another video! I was starting to really miss you haha. :3

  • Awe, you know ladies... any one of you are more than welcome to email me, if you miss me! :)

  • You are adorable! And the "I'll have to track you down and kill you" bit made me giggle. Anyway, this is a great tutorial, I'll have to give it a try. Does it only work if you don't have bangs? Or is there a way to pull it off when you do have bangs?

  • Thanks! heehee ^_^

Well... it depends on how thick your bangs are... if they are thin, I think you can hairspray them and blend them with a thick layer of hair around the area, and use it together to make the pompadour. It would be a tad difficult, but not impossible!

I have been wanting to cut my bangs for a while... and it's hairstyles like this, that have kept me from doing so :'(

  • Hehe I can totally see why!

Yeah my bangs are pretty thick, so I'll probably have to wait till they're longer, or grown out. [Tried to do it earlier, very sproingy haha] But I do get the idea of the hairstyle at least, so I'll be able to try again later. :-)

  • I love the fact that you said "If you get it right, I'll have to track you done and kill you" in such a nice, sweet tone.

  • HAHA, I guess I couldn't take myself seriously :)

  • Wow, I am SO glad I found your videos! I love these hairstyles but I have no idea how to do them (I'm a total klutz with my hair, lol), but you make it seem so easy. I can't wait to watch more! =)

  • Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed them! ^-^

  • I am SO GLAD I found you!

I've always wanted to have bangs! I was scared that it would be too high maintenance since my hair is naturally really curly and I'm naturally really lazy-haha.

    Thank you thank you thankyou!!!

  • lol, I try doing this for school everyday and it takes me like a dozen tries to get it perfect

"if you get it right the first try i might have to track you down and kill you" XDDDDD

  • heehee :)

  • wow, i don't think i can do that with my hair. the way you did was looked too cool for me. ^_^ if that mad sense.

  • haha, well... even I have to admit, I had to round up some courage to wear it out of the house :) But it was fine ;)

  • What should I do if my hair is naturally curly?

  • If your curls cooperate, you can skip the curling process, and go ahead to the Pompadour. You will probably have to try different techniques, to see what works best for you :)

  • Okay I'm Going to try it out.

And By the way, I love your videos, blog, and style you inspire me and I love trying all these styles for school.

    Thanks. :)

  • Thank you! That means so much, really :)
