Great tutorials. When you changed the tempo back to 136, you described the process as If you were leaving Enya at 120. How did you do that? Or did you run both tracks at 136 even though you stated you didnt want to decrease enya anymore.

it's nice that you've spent your time to create a tutorial to help other people, but I've watched the whole 10 minutes and you've not actually explained anything apart from how to drag and drop an audio file and then move it around in the sequencer?!

Also the poor audio quality means I couldn't actually hear Enya coming in at all over SMBU on the numerous times that you said "no that doesnt right" etc, so really couldn't learn much from it I'm afraid.

I didn't realise Abelton had a GUI like Cubase, Pro Tools or Audition. i.e. a stacked horizontal audio timeline. As a DJ, i need to be able to simultaneously see as MANY tracks from my list as possible, in order. Drag & drop them where you like. Set gradual BPM & EQ changes, at any point. Layer multiple tracks over the other, if i wish. Is this easy to do, or fiddly and complicated? Is there a better, clearer youtube demo vid out there? Thanks in advance :)

I want the whole mix to sound level from start to finish.

Great stuff man. Listen, since you and a lot of people here know a lot about Ableton, how can i edit songs so i can take out the curse words? I know how to cut bad words, but it doesn't always sound smooth. I really would like mash-up attempt, but i need all curse words out. For example, how can i edit, "smack my BITCH," where i can take the word "Bitch" out and replace it with another word, or some cool effect that doesn't take away from the song.  Anything will help and t/y so much man.

I was actually having a laugh, but it is possible. I don't know if your voice sounds similar to the one in the song, if so, record the word in the same intention as the original word, and just copy paste. probably easiest to use a wave editor for this e.g. Acid pro. thats how i would do it. but thats just me. are u using an acapella of the song? even easier.

Hey great job man! Listen, I just bought this thing, is there any way to extract vocals(acapellas) from a song on Ableton? I have some acapellas that I want to use, but many of my favorites, I simply cannot find?  I was wondering if Ableton had the capability to take out the background instrumentals and just keep the vocals?

I don't know about ableton, but in protools and adobe audition, if you can find the instrumental version, just reverse the phase of the instrumental and have two tracks - the original and the inverted instrumental (don't reverse the track, just the phase!). The inverted phase will do a better job of canceling out the audio than messing with the eq. after that, eq and mix it a little, should sound good enough with a different backing track under it.

I also want to show that Ableton Live 5 was used to create mashups, which has been used to create mashups for sometime. Do you need the expensive 6 or 7 Lives?

Oh, the water noise is the camera's mic. I am going to re-edit without vocals...seems simpler.

A free version is Sonys AcidExpress. Acid will only allow you to save off in WMA format at a reduced rate. That is ok as there are many converters out there that will convert WMA to WAV.
