Jason simply sang this song because he loved Marley's song so much...aka his favorite song. Jason wasnt trying to sing better then Bob just simply singing his favorite song. :)

The reason Jason sang this song, was because Bob Marley was his inspiration, and he was asked to sing his favorite song for a Gap commercial so he sang his favorite song, "One Love". I personally love mraz and this cover. But i never think a singer can sing a song better then the original artist, and i love Marley.
