  • Nice chopsticks! Where can I get them?

  • Wow. Nice work. I am impressed...

  • THanks

  • Best video yet!

This is such an important issue and one that Japan needs to seriously consider. I will take note of restaurants that don't value our earth and I'll do better on bringing my disposables!

    Otsukare Mies!!

  • Thanks Andrea! We came up with an idea actually. First of all if a restaurant you go to uses disposable chopsticks we can send them a letter to request them to change over. Another plan is to visit such a restaurant with a big group and all take our own chopsticks....... I think they will remember and maybe be convinced.

  • Hi Mies. Great video! In particular, first scene was striking for me. I bought own chopstics last week! And I started bringing eco-bag when I go to supermarket. Thank you for reminding me of eco-life!

  • Thanks Kyomi, I thought of another option for an eco bag. My problem with the eco bag is that I forget it often. So I started tying plastic bags to my bike so I always have a bag with me!

  • A great contribution to a major and avoidable problem.

    Keep up your good work!

  • Yeah you are right it definitely is avoidable! Thanks for the comment !

  • Bravo Mies for this very effective video. I think this kind of work should be seen by all the kids around Japan. Have you tried to show it in a primary school, to check the reactions ?

  • Great video work, Mies! Love your chopsticks too, where did you get them? Anyway, you convinced me, I'll stop using waribashi.

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

I got the extendable ones in an outdoor shop called Rarigurasu in Daimyo. The other ones my student bought in Dazaifu (opp the station) Both pairs are about 1800 yen. A bit of an investment but........ they are definitely cool and is always triggers positive responses !

  • Hey Mies, my wife decided that 2008 will be an eco year for our family as well. We all got our own chopsticks with us AND she got two durable light weight bags for Belgium she uses when she goes to the supermarket.... Let's all have an eco-goal in 2008!

  • Wow Bruno that is great ! Thank you very much for the nice comment. Mail us a picture of you and your bags :) ........... we can use it on the blog !

    Thanks

  • thanks for sending your video

  • Thanks ! I recommend people to check out yours !
