im not sure if this is a serious song or not because of the end thing when it says "for all who couldn't make it in show business" so can some one tell me if this is a joke or not
@Jzscrstsprstr I'm sure it is. But the core of the story is truth, a German stood up, risked everything. The real Schindler was a horrible businessman, divorced his wife, and died penniless...but he saved so many. A true, flawed hero.
@Adnama109 He was initially a womanizing war profiteer who took possession of a few jewish factories during the war. staffing them entirely by exploiting jewish labor. he was actually very profitable for a while. until his motivations changed. and he became more similar to the deified shindler we know of today. no longer working for profit but to get people out.
@senorcovert The story of Schindler is probably one of my favorite examples of human uprightness. I went ahead and coped this next bit from Wikipedia.
'No one knows what Schindler's motives were. He was quoted as saying "I knew the people who worked for me... When you know people, you have to behave towards them like human beings."[19]
@Adnama109 meaning no one knows why he decided to stop being a profiteer and become a savior. This bit is directly from his wiki too fits the exact definition of a war profiteer.
As an opportunistic businessman, Schindler was one of many who sought to profit from the German invasion of Poland in.
@senorcovert The chances of his story being told all around the world were so slim! Had they not found his brief case with the "List" inside, his heroism would not be so well known.
@Robinhjartfors funny note: toddlers rarely laugh because they are amused, when they do it's usually because they are horrified, struck with despair or horridly uncomfortable with the situation in general. A lot of us never grows out of this behavior but fools ourselves that we are having fun because we are taugth Laughter=enjoyment. *the more you know*
@Robinhjartfors I agree. Not a single funny lyric, yet there's the joke printed at the end. The tone of the song seems highly melodramatic, yet poignant, and the singer is imitating Liam Neeson!
I love your videos. Most are very funny, but this one was so well made and brought out the feelings of the story and what that good man did for all those innocent people. Thanks.
I'm so fucking disappointed, in France, we can't see The Ralph Fiennes Part anymore... is there any way so I can listen to it elsewhere or something ?
It was one of my favorite from Jon and Al...
Well, in any case, good job for all your work guys ;)
Kimippsen, but it doesn't make you laugh.. it's sad and very respectful. It highlights the tragedy of the situation and the film. a good job. it's very moving
I tip my hat to you guys...unfortunately, Act II is blocked in my country (Germany ;P), apparently someone was a bit offended and cannot handle this form of tribute/satire/humor...
someone once said, "Schindler's List is Holocaust: The Musical" because of how structured it was with it's storytelling, sets, props, and it's staging of it's actors, the fact that someone went to thorough lengths to orchestrate and organize a re-telling of an event such as the holocaust is amazing as well as absolutely ridiculous. So I commend legolambs for doing this video because it shows the other side of that double-edged sword of what Schindler's List is.
One of the most heartgripping movies out there and you acctualy captured most of it in song, kudos to you sir, this is more than I could've asked for.
@serazac25 It's funny that you mention it. My name is Josef and a few years ago I was studying spanish in school and my friend german. One day he tells me that "schosefsaft" (schosef is how Josef is pronounced in Spanish) means "orangejuice" in german (well, kind of, there is no exact translation of "saft" in english). It turned out schosef didn't mean orange at all, but my nickname became Josefsaft after that. A few weeks ago I realised what "Josefs aft" means in english.
The scene with Ben Kingsley and Liam Neeson reduced me to tears the first time I ever saw the movie. One of the best pieces of acting - and one of the best sixty seconds of film - I've seen in my entire life.
I just found this randomly and I have never seen Schindler's List but this is a great piece of work. You are a very talented person thank you for making this.
Wow, I didn't think you could make a musical out of Schindler's list, I guess I was expecting something like the Schwarzenegger ones. But this was really touching!
To the people who cry foul for this "not being funny", this is what one gets when making one brilliantly funny Arnold impression and then another... People will expect and demand more of the same and you'll turn into a one trick pony and be forgotten. I am happy to have seen more of your diverse talents, @legolambs, and you deserve the recognition for it.
@oldskoolgamertje wow people think this? whats so funny about jews being killed and living in fear from the nazi's? the vocals are amazing, thats all that truly matters
@RobotMice Amazing video and song, I wonder how many germans during that time who didn't agree with the nazis felt the same way, that they could have done more? Maybe he doesn't feel he's a hero but to every jew he helped free, he IS a hero.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@legolambs sorry is this suppose to be funny? I mean arnold and sylvester are great musicals but this?? I dont know if u know it, but this acctually happend you moron. Do matrix or some other fictional shit, but leave the history behind, cause obviously you konw shit about it.
@realmitKO Did you watch Schindler's List? Because this musical actually follows it well. The humour is slight here, and it doesn't make the video. Instead, it's emotional, with the humour keeping it light. And I don't doubt the makers' knowledge of the Holocoast or of Oskar Schindler. Especially since, you know, it's Liam Neeson who performs this.
When it comes to comedy - nothing - NOTHING AT ALL - should be sacred. This is not insulting the film and ESPECIALLY not the War and deaths! You need to grow a sense of humour.
for the MILLIONS...who cannot make it in show business... ROFLMAO! u guys r goin to hell for that bit....and ill be right there with ya for laughing at it.
It's difficult to grasp the suffering that went on during the holocaust but this was a really tasteful, fitting tribute to an amazing piece of cinema.
@elvishskills i live off the philosophy that life is suppose to be a struggle, mankind should learn to appreciate luxury and living, and through that struggle this can most be easily done, and by the age thing you're one to talk, and the way it sounds it seems like you're defending being ignorant like that, laughing at what was the misery of millions, i honestly can't stand that, i may not be fully developed but i know what the hell i'm talking about
@elvishskills no one deserves easy lives, and those people i'm talking about, all those being ignorant, chances are they did have easy lives and don't appreciate it, only way i can explain how they can be so ignorant, i may not know much now but i've learned enough to know how life should be valued, and who are you to criticize me so much? you don't know me
@RobotMice true, sorry, it's just crap like that is so intolerable, and makes me so angry, but still people like that, they don't deserve their easy lives, never learning to appreciate life through the struggle, maybe if they'd appreciate it they'd realize what they're laughing at
you're in high school, the real question is who are you to say who deserves easy lives or not? have you gotten to know every single person that deeply to really make that judgement? you still have a lot of growing up to do, so quit talking out of your ass.
@elvishskills i'm sorry if i'm coming back at you a little jerk-like, but i'm going to stand up for my opinions, that's kind of what the internet's for, you don't have to agree with me, just respect my opinion, and who knows in a couple of years when i've aged more i might regret it, then again maybe not
@TheeProjectTank Hoo-ah! A man after my own heart who uses reason, respect and spellchecks his responses. The internet needs more people like you , mate.
damn... this makes me hate myself for ever laughing at an holocaust/nazi joke...
this inspires so much emotion in me, mainly sadness and guilt for mankind ever doing this, but i actually can't stop myself from laughing, not because this is funny, but because of its brilliance... i go to high school, and i see this kind of intolerance and ignorance all the time... it makes me angry... "i could have done more" i should have punched those intolerable bastards
This song was tragic, heartbreaking, and very deeply moving. I myself have not seen Schindler's List but this song is something from a stage version of it. I am glad you chose to give this song a serious tone, and yes I do agree that many people deserve to get into the big time.
I've seen the original movie back in high school, and watching this and thinking about what the movie symbolized and how this works, beautiful man. I normally watch your videos to make myself laugh, but when I watched this, Man, I was brought to tears. Thank you for creating this and sharing.
Love the use of the choir at the end. Also love how you work the falling 5th from the soundtrack into the accompaniment. Conan was awesome, but I'm glad you're doing more serious music...it's great!
Wow. Just wow. I mean I've absolutly loved all your videos, but this one really takes the cake. The fact that you can really capture the feeling of that moment in the movie by using those lyrics and that score is really amazing. And it really shows the talent you guys have by taking these films and making the music for them. I also really like the fact that you did music to a dramatic film and I'd like to see more of the same. Really, really great stuff. I recommend Munich and Unbreakable.

Geez, I half expected to be offended, but that was actually really touching. I really have a very hard time watching this film, but this video was very well done. The lyrics were great, the clips were well used, and the singers were fantastic. You guys really should write a full out musical for some of these films. I think you guys could pull off something really fantastic.

I was thinking it would be silly, to the tune of the Schindler's List theme, like:

Oskar Schindler, he was good; the Jews gave him a ring.

I went into this hesitantly, fearing you would make a mockery of this.
I was pleasantly wrong.
Good job.

I've seen the original movie back in high school, and watching this and thinking about what the movie symbolized and how this works, beautiful man. I normally watch your videos to make myself laugh, but when I watched this, Man, I was brought to tears. Thank you for creating this and sharing.

Somehow, this is funny but doesn't ruin the tone of the film. Bravo!

ACT THREE SHOULD BE A DUET WITH THE TWO.

You guys never cease to surprise and amaze. Reminds me of Stephen Sondheim's Evening Primrose.
