  • Host a game show.

  • Are they representing Hitler Youth ?

  • i cant consentrate in what their saying because of PDA :(

  • 4:10 xD

  • man... these guys been smoking for some ten years, now that can't be good...

  • paul is quite a bit thinner

  • if carlos didnt want to play bass to begin with, why did he join the band in the first place? maybe he wanted to have some cash in his pocket? it's weird that people like a bass player who never wanted to play bass. at least he made some kick ass bass beats for all of their songs.

  • @childrenoftherez There were other factors involved with Carlos quitting Interpol. I don't buy Carlos resenting playing the bass as Sam claims was the reason Carlos left. Whatever the case is, Carlos left a huge void in this band and I would not be suprised if Interpol does not put out another record. Just my two cents...

  • @childrenoftherez maybe he changed his mind? :) Probably he wanted to do other stuff artisticly..He is a musician not just a bassist..

  • well there you go. carlos is gonna be a game show host now

  • Known fact that Daniel is the least talented member, however Daniel knew who to tap on and form things working for indie labels before forming Interpol.

  • @tmf1977 least talented? The basis of almost every interpol song starts with Daniel's guitar. Thats a FACT. He's a creative driving force in the band if not the most driven member in terms of creation. Yea he doesn't play very complicated guitar parts but his use of effects and style of play is truly intricate to Interpol's sound...the FACT is you take Daniel out of Interpol you have a serious problem

  • @Zeppelinfan25 I'm a huge fan of this band and I do agree with you that Daniel is responsible for creating Interpol. However I stand by my comment about Daniel. He is not a great musician. Paul carries the weight when it comes to performing and whether people dislike Carlos (or not) Carlos was key to Interpol's sound. There is a HUGE difference between Pol's live performances on this tour in comparison to Interpol's shows during 2000-early 2007 before Carlos became disenchanted.

  • @Zeppelinfan25 Regardless if Daniel starts the song writing process, Daniel himself admitted that Carlos was responsible in working closely with him in the early song writing process and played a major role in song writing process. Regardless of what was then, I would bet my last dollar that the next Interpol record will be complete shit without Carlos. This recent record is weak and rumor has it Carlos and Dan had a falling out during recording S/T.

  • @tmf1977 First of all I just wanna say I really respect your opinion because you seem like one of the few people I've come across that truly does love the band actually knows what they're talking about...back to the topic...please elaborate on how Paul carries the weight when it comes to performing. In terms of live shows Daniel is an amazing performer. He's what makes interpol's sound so big because of his great use of guitar effects and that really creates that atmosphere we love at the show..

  • @tmf1977 Carlos is a fantastic musician and that's no secret. Obviously his presence will be missed on any future albums...however i really believe they can still make a great album without him because they're record making is a group effort. That said we will probably hear something a little different from the previous four albums which to me is intriguing...IMO Daniel is the concrete foundation to Interpol.

  • @tmf1977 not true. he writes most of the basslines and almost all the guitar parts. Songs like "Evil" are ALL his (except the lyrics)

  • @TheSicDominator I believe you are referring to a 2003 interview with Carlos in which the writer stated Carlos did not write his basslines which was incorrect. In recent interviews promoting S/T, Daniel acknowledged how important Carlos was to Pol's songwriting process and even going as far as noting Carlos wrote all of his own basslines and keyboard arrangements for the band. Even Dave Pajo commented the way Carlos wrote his basslines was "genius".

  • @tmf1977 I knew he brought in keyboards to the band. He did write all of Evil though, and without Daniel there they wouldn't even exist, he was the mutual friend between almost all of them. Won't deny that lots of the time the bass is the highlight, i.e Length of Love. Bringing different parts to the band doesn't make him "less" talented. Its a 100% team effort, there is no 1 man band dynamic like lots of groups. Obviously Dave would applaud the man who gave him a well paid day job in temping.

  • i think interpol won't be the same without Carlos and if this band is going to change that much as it was released with the last album, they just have to start a new project as a new band. i dont know its just what i feel ... anyway it was worth it as this worked

  • @prioridadconfusa but carlos did record the last album, after that he decided he wantred to do something else with his life. so it´s still the interpol we know and love with their last record. i think it´s more an evolucion than a change. i just hope that interpol will still exist after this and that they can live up to their previous work.

  • @MsStellaBrightside i like the last album its just that i think interpol wont sound like a post-punk band, and then it wont sound like interpol we knew. by the way antics is my favorite album =)

  • @prioridadconfusa yeah, i partly agree, i think especially with totbl you could put them in the post-punk box, but generally i think that they´ve created a very special sound of their own...idk i just feel like i can´t compare them really to any other band. i like every album for different reasons, but my fave is probably totbl.

  • @prioridadconfusa I sorta agree with you...Interpol's sound has changed too much, I mean, I mistook Safe Without as being a Blink 182 song...not an Interpol song. Plus if they do keep popping albums the basslines will be weak as hell and no one will be there to write the keyboard music. I can see how Interpol's sound differed on Our Love to Admire but they were on a major label though it differed good, not bad like their last album did.

  • omg paul was like the sweetest thing ever

  • Carlos is brilliant.

  • It's very interesting to see how innocent Paul was back then, it's clearly now that he's a bit disillusionated by everything

  • young Paul . . . so adorable. So innocent. So lacking in conceit. So fragile. But so interested in what the world has to offer. So interested in the world's interest in him and Interpol at large.
