  • Hunting is so much more than the killing that most people are so misinformed about. The actual harvest is such a small part of the beauty of hunting...most will never understand!

    Thanks Jerome...glad you liked it.

  • song?

  • The song is Renegades of Funk by Rage Against The Machine.

  • Great video! I was suprised how well Rage Against the Machine went with it!

  • Me too, I wasn't to sure about the Renegades fitting in here, but it did nicely. Thanks man, I'm pleased you enjoyed it!

  • another great vid kyle, cant wait to see some more.

  • very nice kyle 5 stars oh by the way i see that bears dont poop in the woods they do it in the road lol thanks for sharing loved it

  • Yah, I could of showed much more of a scoop on poop ha ha lol...but I just showed yah a bit..lol.

I have the guys voices on vid talkin bout just that...poop in the woods/road talk..ha ha LOL.

Really pleased you enjoyed it Chad...take it easy you work-king...stop and look at the scenery every so often at least eh! Life is pretty short, no need to bury your head in work through it all, but I do understand ur responsible for others : )

  • Very, very interesting. We do not have anymore any living in the woods, just in the zoo I have seen them. 5*

  • Thats unfortunate...they are incredible balerinas in the bush. I've seen them walk on little cracks on the cliffs of mountains to eat the tiny vegetation...incredible animals.

We saw 44 bears in the seven day hunt. We let all but two go, which we harvsted. Thanks, and glad you show interest.

  • 50 years ago there were a few.

I an into hunting with my dogs but we do not have your varieties.

  • What do you hunt and what other species are indigenous there?

  • deer, boar, ducks. even hares are becoming scarce.

  • do you hunt deer with dogs?

We use dogs for ducks, and some use them for cougar, bear and racoon. I would love to one day have a dog for upland gamebirds like grouse...I bet your dogs would be great for that.

  • My dogs carry ducks and hares. We use them for deer traces and retrieving deer that is shot and not killed. We try with blood that we lay a trace 24 or 48 hours in advance and the dogs find the reward.

and we use them to stir up anything under the rifle.

They have a leash 12 yards long. If they have a leash.

Anything is easier to hunt with a dog. They are darn smart.

  • Thats sounds like they are very useful. I know we can have a dog out deer hunting if it is on a leash, though I don't know about the length. No one does it here that I know of...but the tracking for traces of blood sounds like you guys are a lil more intellegent than us here...hmmmm why don't we do that for the lost and injured game...you guys are cool for following thru after the shot with such due dillegence!!!

Ur dogs are smart, but not all dogs ha ha lol

Some are smart like a cement mixer

  • cockers have terrific noses. I put cows stomac on a long rod and dip it far away from me every couple of yards to the ground, walk zig zag for half a mile and then drop the meat. then I go back to the car a different way. then I let the dog out of the car, the dog follows the trace and when I get to the end the dog lies there chewing the meat (reward).

  • Yah, I guess once they learn the idea of it...it would work for almost any type of tracking. Beautiful companians to get to work with too!

  • English cockers are the smallest "complete" hunting dogs that you can use fot every purpose. And they are good family dogs, too.

They don`t need that much education for hunting. they learn very quick. it is their nature.

  • They do seem like an ultimate breed for diversity in use. They have long hair, right. How is their hair loss all over the furniture and clothing? Not that it matters to me, but I wonder how the women would like them...I know they love their look. Cockerspaniels as puppies is a sure bet to win a girl over...lol.

  • The hair is terrible. Everyday combing and you still have the hair everywhere. The good thing is the coat is extremely nice to touch, very soft and shiny, not rough like wirehair. So you put up with it and buy clothes in a color that does not show the dog hair. Yep, the hair in a car is a problem, too. Remove it with masking tape.

  • Oh that blag dang it hair eh. I have to deal with my old friend who left his cat with me about 13 years ago and I think this thing is gonna live forever just to make me clean up after it...hair everwhere!

I would rather have a dog for many reasons, though the cat can take care of itself.

I think the trade off for you is well beyond worth it though...yours are beautiful, functional and great friends too. That would be a hard combo to beat!

  • I had a cat. cat hair is worse. it is finer. that bad it isn`t but it is lots of hair several times a year.

i think cockers are ideal. not that big, don`t eat too much, very eager hunters and friendly at home. they love to lay on the sofa, watch tv.

  • I guess they aren't to gun shy then either?

They sure seem to be a great choice.

  • Not gun shy at all, good in fireworks, too. and they hunt hares loud. it is a very horse sound very strange barking when they dash after a hare.

  • I have not known anyone to have one, but they sure seem to be great. My Uncle used to have a Brittany Spaniel and he loved it and talks of it from time to time. He said it was good for grouse and he took it duck hunting too though it was not good with the cold ocean where we duck hunt mostly.

How are your Spaniels for that...the cold?

  • First a brittany is a group 7 dog. belongs to the german wirehaired group (pointing) harder to handle than cockers, group 8, gun dogs.

ice cold water no problem for mine as long as there are ducks in the water.

  • That sounds real good then. I am gonna mention them to the other hunters I know. Everyone has a differnet type of dog out here. Many Labs, and most of them shiver with the cold down on the duck flats.

I used to think if I were to get a dog, I would be leaning to a chesapeke (sp?) retriever...they can handle the cold too. They look like a heavier choclate lab if your not familar with them...but I'm sure you already know, as you appear to be quite intellegent on this topic.I'm off to the mountain

  • I know them even though they are scarce over here.

    A different type of dog.

A small cocker bitch can only carry a smaller goose or hare. The male ones manage bigger animals.

but my dogs are ardent in any weather provided there is something to chase.

  • Ah, they don't have to carry a Moose out or anything...as long as they can swim to retrieve, that is what is most desired here. Once at the shore line, we all will grab the game if it is to big or to many for the dogs.

I take it they have no problem swimming for a retrieval?

I saw a small black bear lastnight up the mountains and a couple of black tail deer (one was a buck) and plenty of great sights and views too!

  • no problem swimming to retrieving. this is a great vid. you deserve the honors.

  • Appreciate that, I have much fun getting the footage...it can be a chore to edit and deal with these frustrating computers...but it is a ton of fun too. I really do enjoy watching the vids (others especially) and thats how I got into it.

I could never find enough vids to watch on wildlife and hunting years ago, so I started making them and now here we are, I am making some alright vids now!

Do you turn the volume off? Do you mind the music?

  • music is ok. in my favorites way back at the beginning, not the recent stuff, far back are some cocker hunting vids from youtube that others made..

  • Beauty vid! As usual!!LOL Take care Kyle! WT

  • Thank WT, do you have Bears around your place? Or where you work?

  • We've had some sightings over the last year or so. Lots of cougars though! WT

  • nice i just sited my crossbow in this weekend cant wait for october :0 still need to site in my rifle tho

  • Cool, which bow do you use? October will be comin up quicker than you might expect! Good luck eh, and thank you too.

On this trip, we had APA, PSE, and Mathews bows...they are all awesome.

I use Muzzy Broadheads, and you?
