After 47 years of diabetes and 32 years of glaucoma, my opthalmologist and I know what has saved my eyesight. Doctor prescribed glaucoma medicine without marijuana only led to laser eye surgery. No one can tell me this is not medicine without me knowing their plain ignorant.
Some people may drive better because they normally don't drive so well when not high on marijuana, by comparison. People on cannabis tend to drive very cautiously. I agree that we need critical research to verify what I am saying. So let's do that!
@necro9 I think drugs should be legalized but I am always very skeptical when somebody says they drive better under the influence of any mind-altering substance. How do you know you're really driving better if your ability to judge your driving performance, as well as the performance itself, has been altered by pot? Do you have objective judgement, such as a driver test on a course that tests a variety of driving skills? Or at the very least a sober second party that can verify your claim?

You know, a year ago, I was of the opinion that those who wanted to legalize medical marijuana were purely motivated by the idea that they could smoke it in a public place without being arrested. I know everyone has there own take on things but realistically it could be a major help medical marijuana it may not be a "cure" but i know first hand that it can help with alot of pain and disorders. I had lukeimea when i was a child type ALL T Cell which infects the blood throughout the body. I was put on chemotheropy and had to do shots all the time it hurt so bad and i was constantly sick not to mention underweight. the doctors tried it on me and i gained weight and lived through the pain.

Did you know that the cannabinoids are antioxidative, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory agents? So yeah, obviously marijuana, especially if consumed orally, has more benefits than alcohol does. I know of a woman that has diabetes and the doctors told her that her foot needed to be amputated. Well, she consumed cannabis oil for a few months, and her foot is healed :)

The cannabinoids, especially CBD (anti-psychotic that gives one a body buzz) have been known to reduce the incidence of diabetes by inhibiting insulitis, blocking activation of the MAPK pathway, reducing the inflammation levels by inhibiting pro-inflammtory cytokines, and preserving GS activity. You can find these results in the Autoimmunity Journal 2006, etc.
@zekdom I don't doubt it helped. My main point is that there's a lot of stoners out there who put weed on a pedestal as if it were a god among substances and medicines. My brother is addicted to marijuana (mental not chemical of course) to the point where he gets jitters if he doesn't have it, and he uses it daily 4-5 times a day at least. He's not sick, he just uses it thinking it will help anxiety issues.

@starbobpizza The very famous study (conducted in the 70s i believe) with the monkeys. they put gas masks on them and gave them no air for 5 minutes to prove that it killed brain cells ( when in fact the suffocation is what did it ) . THC activates the CB1 receptor that leads to memory impairment and a reduction of P300 amplitudes, according to two studies presented in the British Journal of Psychiatry 2010 and the Neuroscience Letters 2011. By the way, they used pure THC in the one which showed a reduction of P300 amplitudes (necessary for proper cognitive function). Are you a noob? Yup :D

I honestly wonder sometimes if the reason it remains illegal after all these years, and alcohol, a far more dangerous means of self medication remains legal, is that if pot does anything, it makes one contemplate, even meditate on things. And who's going to buy all the high school pep rally propaganda and run to war if they've contemplated it from all sides? Alcohol on the other hand will invoke rash extreme actions. Troops got pissed before battle since the beginning of time for that reason.
I can neither confirm nor deny the ever changing pros and cons of moderate use. I will however say that it should be my right as a free citizen to self medicate within reason. And I feel moderate marijuana use is well within reason. It keeps down stress, substantially reducing, even eliminating need for many prescription meds.

Thank you for a great video. I am a medical cannabis patient, thankfully I am in a state with compassion for sick people. I can tell you, I would not be alive today without medical cannabis. I have some fairly severe, permanent injuries that have me in severe physical pain every day. Prior to finding cannabis, the medical community was pumping me full of methadone to treat the pain, and it was turning me insane, as well as slowly killing me. It works, and that's all I care about.

@NROBable What ruins kids lives is an unConstitutional drug war, that serves no purpose other than to terrorize the very children the drug warriors claim they want to protect. No sane parent would give there child cannabis for recreational use, just like they would not give them alcohol or tobacco. The fact is, the vast majority of the harm that comes from drugs happens to come from the drug war being waged. Pretty hard to lift yourself out of poverty when you keep getting locked up for weed.

How do you know you're really driving better if your ability to judge your driving performance, as well as the performance itself, has been altered by pot? I know everyone has there own take on things but realistically it could be a major help medical marijuana it may not be a "cure" but i know first hand that it can help with alot of pain and disorders. I had lukeimea when i was a child type ALL T Cell which infects the blood throughout the body. I was put on chemotheropy and had to do shots all the time it hurt so bad and i was constantly sick not to mention underweight. the doctors tried it on me and i gained weight and lived through the pain.

Did you know that the cannabinoids are antioxidative, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory agents? So yeah, obviously marijuana, especially if consumed orally, has more benefits than alcohol does. I know of a woman that has diabetes and the doctors told her that her foot needed to be amputated. Well, she consumed cannabis oil for a few months, and her foot is healed :)

My brother is addicted to marijuana (mental not chemical of course) to the point where he gets jitters if he doesn't have it, and he uses it daily 4-5 times a day at least. THC activates the CB1 receptor that leads to memory impairment and a reduction of P300 amplitudes, according to two studies presented in the British Journal of Psychiatry 2010 and the Neuroscience Letters 2011. By the way, they used pure THC in the one which showed a reduction of P300 amplitudes (necessary for proper cognitive function). Are you a noob? Yup :D

Honestly not really a great political vid. It be much better if you also added arguments against legalizing medical marijuana, and then make a judgement about the manner. That's a more objective way to give information.
I do agree with you though, but you have to be realistic here a country such as the US probably will never legalize Marijuana, it's too democratic for that.

I honestly wonder sometimes if the reason it remains illegal after all these years, and alcohol, a far more dangerous means of self medication remains legal, is that if pot does anything, it makes one contemplate, even meditate on things. And who's going to buy all the high school pep rally propaganda and run to war if they've contemplated it from all sides? Alcohol on the other hand will invoke rash extreme actions. I can neither confirm nor deny the ever changing pros and cons of moderate use. I will however say that it should be my right as a free citizen to self medicate within reason. And I feel moderate marijuana use is well within reason. It keeps down stress, substantially reducing, even eliminating need for many prescription meds.

Thank you for a great video. I am a medical cannabis patient, thankfully I am in a state with compassion for sick people. I can tell you, I would not be alive today without medical cannabis. I have some fairly severe, permanent injuries that have me in severe physical pain every day. Prior to finding cannabis, the medical community was pumping me full of methadone to treat the pain, and it was turning me insane, as well as slowly killing me. It works, and that's all I care about.

we have the same problem in sweden where its even illigal to have it in the blood i have GAD general axiety dissorder and no meds are working so i started so grow and smoke my own becoz i dont wanna give my money to criminal elements but this can give me years in prison so please people lets make medical use legal (sorry if i miss spelled some words)

No sane parent would give there child cannabis for recreational use, just like they would not give them alcohol or tobacco. The fact is, the vast majority of the harm that comes from drugs happens to come from the drug war being waged. Pretty hard to lift yourself out of poverty when you keep getting locked up for weed.

HEY i hear you! i have adhd and i friend of mine got me to try weed, i was in a fuck everyone mood so much to my surprise wen i was being talked to more.... before i was making mostly d's and f's...... after, im not gonna say its magicall and it gave me strait a's but i got c's and above and my teachers commended my work... even though i came to class stoned every morning..... must be so terrible, the pharmisuetical companies cant patent pot so thats why its STILL illegal

Anyway, like all substances it affects everyone in different ways, some of my friends can drive absolutely cooked, some cant. However, marijuana as a pure THC oil has now been used to effectively CURE many forms of cancer. Look up Rick Simpson hemp oil. I made this oil and gave it to a relative suffering from terminal prostate cancer, hes still alive today cancer free.
