I never thought in my life to see the one who wrote the album ( The Wall ) could end doing stupid opera like this one , i may say the only one who did put opera style sound in pink floyd is one and only Richard Wright in the album (The Dark Side Of The Moon) in the song "The Great Gig in the Sky" by Clare Torry , eventually i would say that Richard Wright is laughing at Roger right now in his grave.
Euh... the great gig is NOT opera, maybe you do not know the style. The great gig is soul, jazz, instrument of the human voice, nothing of an opera ! This opera is a popular one, such as the one by Paul McCartheney. English people seem unable to do great classical music, but they are very good at rock !
even opera has instrumental playing , 'The Great Gig in the Sky' is more a vocal way and insted of words she used a voice emotion rather than using words that presents an emotion or topic, its not soul or jazz , because it dont give the soul sound that we hear from a black american singers (they are the basic of soul music) i'm not saying she has to be black to give the soul , but i say she needs the sense of the soul sound which she didnt .
and the way of presenting the song 'The Great Gig in the Sky' wasnt at all in jazz but more an opera like , you just didnt see the potential from this song it make a new kind of music as a new wave opera
que naco eres thavatar, la musica evoluciona, no es una opera tradicional del siglo xVIII porque ya no estamos en esos tiempos. Es una obra majestuosa!
I wonder if he is the first to use a "visual click track" in opera. Did ALW?LOL
