  • How could security let this happen?!?!

  • @dagda16 the thieves disguised as police officer literally rang the buzzer, they were buzzed in by the security guard even though he had instructions not to let anyone in after a certain hour. They walked in and took their time inside having cuffed the security guards, so no police or anyone would have discovered them until the next day. It was 1990 after all.. Not that something like this wouldn't happen nowadays, take the Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris for instance..

  • @dagda16 the thieves dressed as officers so the security didn't feel that they were a threat, although it was against protocol. They bound and gagged the security and then took the art. its awful to think that 20 years has passed and the paintings are probably demolished by now by heat and mishandling :{

  • @dagda16 im sorry, "they left them in although it was against protocol" is what i meant to say

  • Many people feel this ruined the museum for them. Not only in that the museum allowed it to happen, but in that the Vermeer and the Storm on the Sea of Gallery were some of the absolute pinnacle of art viewable in Boston. I'm afraid that the works will never be recovered.

  • SO SAD
