gosh i love this opening, much darker and scary, more like the dark crystal sound, no offence to anyone but the limahl opening really sucked in my opinion, it really had nothing to do with the movie and the story itself.

Huh? This is not a german version of Limahls song, if that's what you thought. In that case I would have written that in the title. This is the music that is played in the opening in the german version of the movie, and there is no singing in that music.

Not that I know about. The only other music I've heard about was for a german audiobook, I saw it on a Youtube-video that has now been deleted.

The german soundtrack can only be bought online (unless your in Germany, I guess...). Its hard to get, but search for "Die Unendliche geschichte soundtrack", and you might find it. Maybe Amazon has it?

Thank you for posting this, do you know if there is a "entire peice" of the Ivory Tower theme, I want the one with bells that sounds like heaven!! Not that one that sounds like a twisted 80's song....you know which one im talking about?

I take it your'e talking about Giorgio Moroders Ivory Tower theme. For some reason his theme has never been released, except as a 80's techno version (that's the version on the soundtrack-CD). A few goodhearted people have uploaded clips from the movie with the dialoge edited out, here on youtube, that's all the help I can give you. Search for "Ivory tower Giorgio Moroder" and you'll find it!

I was referring to the movieversion of Moroders Ivory Tower theme, wich has been uploaded (in clips from the movie) by Knightmessenger and DANTECHPFN. There is also Doldingers german theme, wich I have uploaded in an other video, but the description of the music - bells sounding like heaven - didn't fit with that version.
