I attached phonewell and 12.5 soundbloc plasterboard directly to a single brick party wall and the results were not good at all.....in fact the noise coming through got louder!.
I had to remove all the phonewell and plasterboard and re-apply the phonewell using resilient bars, green glue, mass loaded vinyl and acoustic felt!...the results are now good, but the work to remove, make good and replace was horrendous
Phonewell is available in various acoustic and thermal insulation companies, as well as builders merchants outlets nationwide, and the list is growing. We advise as to your nearest stockist when you contact us via email or phone. Because we don't supply directly to the public, we cannot put a price on our website. It is a cost effective product because it is a very slim system which is easy to install, so it reduces labour costs and materials costs.
I am intersted but when on the says "cost effective" i would like to have a clue of the cost per pannel. From your web site I don't understand if the product is available only for grossist or also for private only way to have a clue of the price is to call and ask. I think this product should be available on all of those web site specialized in sound profing or builders stores and prices be available without enquiring. thank you for reading my comment
We recommend using resilient bars which are step shaped, so the resilient bars are held to the original ceiling by screwing through the top part of the bar into the ceiling joist. Then screw Phonewell® & plasterboard to the stepped down part of the bars only. This decouples the 'Phonewell Ceiling' from the original structure, so a sound bridge will not be created. It is the fitter's responsibility to fit all products securely. Boards measure 1200 x 800mm & are only 15mm thick & weigh 17.3kg.
4.47 Dear company, Does is matter that the ceiling fixing is done with screws? . Does screwing the product on make a connection with the noise on the other side; namely airplane noise or road traffic noise? . How heavy is one pannel by the way? . What if it fell on you while you were asleep in bed? . Reply to me by message please. cheers. from del-boy.
