  • My friends dad owns a 12 million dollar house in tahoe. Him, myself, and a bunch of our friends went up there and all hung out in the game room (which had a bunch of windows) overlooking the trees, mountains, and lakes. I brought my laptop and played oblivion everyday while smoking blunts, sipping on blue moons, and eating great meals. nothing brings back memories of the best week of my life like this soundtrack.

  • A while back when I was thinking about a Skyrim DLC set Cyrodiil, I realized that Kvatch would be back to normal. :)

  • btw, the return to the original theme at 3:13 is absolutely perfect.

  • reminds me of Bravil. its tied with Anvil as my favorite town in the game. just...can't...decide... :(

  • Reminds me of when I was at the Mephala shrine at sunset and, this song played as i looked at and over the imperial city. Watching the dimmed blue light With the dark blue behind it.

    it was Pour Beauty.

Thanks Bethesda for the great places, times, and sights

  • Who knows, if Beth decide to have Cyrodiil as a DLC, they might put this music back in when we are playing. Would be epic.

  • @7heAre7s For Skyrim of course.

  • One day I hope to have my home were I’m on my balcony with a beautiful view of mountains and trees with a fire by my side, a nice pint, and having this soundtrack playing on some high Tec speakers. Aaaaah bliss.

  • this game is and always will be the best game on earth

  • I love the way they remade this one in the skyrim soundtrack. It's a beautiful and powerful piece of music

  • Shit...

  • spare a skooma for the elderly

  • feeelin sleepy when i hear this music

  • Comment removed

  • i just smoked some skooma, play this with skyrim.

  • I pound a skooma then im ready to fight a skooma

  • I used to be an adventurer like you. then I took a POWDERED DEER PENIS to the knee.

  • really? out of the first 5 comments 3 were skooma jokes...woooow

  • Sadly Oblivion doesn't work for me. :'( I'll miss you..

  • listenting to this while high on skooma

  • @GHJVikingFromHell

    What...is the music...of life?

    Trombones

    FTW

  • Confound these soundtracks, they drive me to skooma.

  • You can rave about Skyrim all you like, but there's nothing like this masterpiece in it. Such a shame.... When I hear this, I remember, as if I were really there.

  • "Sweet mother, sweet mother, send your child onto me, for the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear."

"What is the colour of night?"

    "Sanguine, my brother."

"What is the music of life?"

    "Silence, my brother."

    "What is life's greatest illusion?"

    "Innocence, my brother."

    ~Dark Brotherhood Listener~

  • Cyrodiil DLC for Skyrim with this track!

  • @CheesyPuffs99 Why make a DLC? I think I should make a soundtrack mod!! I WILL, if it doesnt already exists... YEAHHHHH!

  • I miss cyrodill

  • @saikoqi Cyrodiil, Imperial City, Anvil docks, Bruma's snow, and Bravil's Skooma den and dense air.

  • STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM !

  • @Jazz252v if there is one thing I miss in Skyrim, its that!

  • Oblivion is good because you have the freedom to do whatever you want... Be who YOU want to be. You could be a murderer, a champion, A life giver... Why is it that games are the ones making you feel better instead of life...

  • Ah, Bravil. Watching the sunset reflect off your waters, taking in the fresh air and wonderful atmosphere, feeling the- "GOT ANY SKOOMA?"

  • @TheTako400 HAHAHA thats great

  • Comment removed

  • Crysis 1

  • Meant to say Silt Sunrise, my bad.

  • Simply imagine... how can someone put up music from his mind that exactly feels like a state of the day? Although I played Oblivion I asked my younger brother who does not have a clue what Oblivion is, what daytime it possible could be when you hear this tune: Night to Dawn.

    Mr Soule - hands down.

  • There should be a reprise of this in Skyrim, like how they did a reprise of Silt Strider from Morrowind in Oblivion, which is "Through the Valley".

  • @Sceptorful There is a reprise

I can hear it from time to time out in the wild

  • @Sceptorful there is ! Seriously, i have just heard the skyrims version today, its not yet on youtube though

  • @Sceptorful There is! it's called "Wind Guide You" :)

  • @DarkFairy003 Thanks! I still need to play Skyrim.

  • am i the only one who hears the sound of Nirnroot in this song?

  • oh man.......such good memories come flooding back to me when i hear this music. Running through Blackwood while the rain falls, without a care in the world :(

  • Run, Shadowmere, my loyal steed! Into the unknown! Who knows what adventure lies ahead? Will we encounter a village of peasants, who feed, and sleep, and live life without a purpose? Or some gloomy shrine of Daedric lords, who into their dark purposes will bring us? It matters not, any adventure is enough, for I hunger and crave danger. Run, Shadowmere! Into the unknown!

  • someone please tell me how do i get these songs on my ipod? i would love this so much!

  • @azrocker1234567 use a youtube to mp3 downloader...

  • @azrocker1234567 you want vdownloader or downloading from piratebay using utorrent

  • I can't stop listen this... god damn...

  • i remember it being 5am the sun was just rising.. i was riding my horse slowy up to cloud ruler temple and the snow was gently falling down... ah a fun yet relaxing game

  • This song is called "Minstrel's Lament". Obviously this is the song bards hear when they do not have merry poems and tales to sing.

  • I miss this game =( I actually never finished it.... I got trapped in a painting (the quest glitched on me) and I was so far in that I didn't want to have to redo everything =/

  • @dragonology5 you could always no-clip out

  • @legoman3342 What do you mean?

  • @dragonology5 use no-clip to get out of that spot... for pc

  • I remember venturing up the Valus mountains with my glass bow. It was late, and the night sky was filled with the brilliant shining eyes of the gods and the two moons, the snow was falling around me and crunching under my feet... The best days of my life

  • this soundtrack and game just speak freedom

  • its funny how fast you drop this game and forget but you play it again and its like everythings new again.....best game ever im taking my time on this play through before skyrim

  • Walking slowly through the Great Forest, the rain splashing off the plants and leaves.....damn i miss this game

  • "ahh, you are like a blessing from the night mother herself"...

"ahhh, new member, i would hug you but ocheeva told me not to"

"i know what you think, gogron, he is too big to be sneaky, and you are right, i prefer to go to my victims and strike them down"

strange enough in the dark brotherhood i felt like a member of a family, is it sad or ok?

  • @Dewani90 I feel the same way man. When I got up much higher in the ranks, I was really, really, really sad that I had to murder them all. It's like, I wanted to cry lol

  • @AnimalLoverofAmerica yeah, i'm a girl tough >:3 but i cheated death itself, i put on my necromancer robes to feel in the mood and resurrected them all with console comands, too bad you cannot do that on consoles and that's why i only play on pc, the only comands i know are create copies of people and resurrect, helps a lot to keep alive the respawnable characters when you need to protect a quest-related character

  • @Dewani90 I play on console, X-Box. Since it is a new x-box and all I have to RESTART the entire game >.< It's a pain in the ass really. I got to the top of all the guilds. and completed a shit load of quests and had a bunch of awesome stuff.

  • @AnimalLoverofAmerica oh my, i remember playing in console and have a ton of saves on my fave parts with other games, i don't have the munny for a 360 or ps3, i play oblivion modded as hell, and i also got to the top of everything, arena grand champion, archmage, fighters guild master, listener, grey fox, got membership of every important faction ingame aaand i'm also divine crussader & madgod, man, it was strange praying to myself at sheogorath's shrine :p, and sorry about your restart n.nU

  • @Dewani90 the Grey Fox was fun to be. Put on the mask, guards come running, then take it off really fast xD

I got to the top of everything too. I think I was still working on Fighters Guild though, I can't remember. But I was also a White Stallion Knight (I think that's what it was. Was a quest for a Count) I have yet to play the Shivering Isles or the Knights of 9 yet, wanting to raise my level (again) before I do so xD

  • @AnimalLoverofAmerica try custom class, that always worked for me, i'm good in heavy armor, destruction, conjuration, alteration, blade, restoration, illusion, that means that whatever i do i'll level up :3, i'm a "Knight who says Ni", it's combat class with STR and END as mains (one to carry stuff and do damage, the other to stay alive as long as i can), the race doesn't matter that much, but elves are really weak to carry stuff around, they do a lot of m.damage tough

  • @Dewani90 I think that is what I did with my last game, but I was lazy this time around. I completely forgot what kind of spells for alteration I can use to boost it up. IDK how I did it last time xD

  • @Dewani90 well, you are the god of madness, so I don't see the problem with praying to yourself :D

  • this music forces me into a state of melancholy

  • basking in the ambiance

  • 2:13 to 2:40 brought back a WAVE of fond memories. :')

  • This music remembers me one of the best quests ever! The one in the Dark Brotherhood where you must infiltrate in a party and kill all guests without being seen!! =o

  • @Piratugaable That was a fun quest <3 I'm glad they brought the Dark Brotherhood back in Skyrim :)

  • just reminds me of walking thorough courtyard houses, with the blinding light shining through the windows of an old pilgrims house, fetching on innocent quests.

  • If books had theme music, this would be for 'The Name of the Wind'.

    High Fantasy, Huzzah!

  • @PhillipsOwenPeter How strange, I say! I've just started - Well, I'm nearly half way through it. But it's a damned fine book, aye?

  • @PhillipsOwenPeter I love that book! The sequel 'A Wise Man's Fear' as well. Phenomenal books.

  • i hope they have great songs in skyrim like they did in oblivion

  • @Ghost22595 judging from gameplay previews, they will :D

  • @Ghost22595 the gameplay they showed at e3 that song is awesome already im sure it will be really good. it very well could be the best rpg ever its a long shot but maybe who knows it just looks completely amazing as far as i have seen. i really cant wait for it

  • What......is the color...of night?

    "Sanguine, my brother".

    hehehe

  • @GHJVikingFromHell welcome....home.

  • @GHJVikingFromHell The question for go to Dark Brotherwood ! :D

  • @GHJVikingFromHell found him in Skyrim! Sanguine is in Skyrim!!! ^^

PS: I'll NEVER forget that line. Epic!!! Every time I get in front of the Dark Brotherhood door in Skyrim, I remember that line!!! X]

  • the sad, dramatic parts play every time i look for funnel caps and mushrooms and shit.

  • "I am Lucien Lachance, a Speaker for the Dark Brotherhood. And you, you are a killer. A taker of life. A harvester of souls. Your work, your deathcraft, pleases the Night Mother. And so, I come to you with an offering. An opportunity... to join our rather unique family."

  • @MrKnowyourole I could listen to Lucien's voice all day, absolutely love his voice actor

  • @EdikShepherd I think Lucien's voice is the same voice as the imperials in the game....

  • @MrKnowyourole Start out at the Inn of Ill Omen... Hehehehe.

  • I MISS THIS GAME SOOOOOOO MUCH!!! :((

  • <3 I get drowned in nostalgia every time I hear this...

  • this is so soothing to my soul.

  • Here?! Right Here?! How about over there?! no?! Right Here?! All right.

    I Love This!!

  • 2:13 to 2:40 is amazing, I'm always repeating that part on my ipod :)

  • @VinzZissou78 Thats my favorite part!

  • @VinzZissou78 my favourite part is 1:50-2:12. :) i love those low strings <3

  • Err... I meant Tamriel. ._.

  • @wowboy111 Actually, you shouldve said Nirn. The game is on the planet/world Nirn, Tamriel is meerly the continent.

  • Only now that I listen to the soundtrack and watch gameplay vids of Oblivion do I remember all the fun I had immersing myself in this game. I regret trading it in for Mass Effect 2. >_< I shall go acquire this game again and play it until Skyrim comes out.

  • @Fr0st1989 DO SO, MY DEAR FRIEND. No but seriously. You should. It's a great game, as a matter of fact-.. I was just playing it earlier today, haha. I bid you farewell in the dangerous and mystical world of Tameriel. FOR THE MAD GOD, AND FOR THE EMPEROR!

  • I think this song is also a nice reminder about how nice THIS world is. Because without this world and our ability to create, there'd be no magic to share.

This soundtrack doesn't just make me love the game. It makes me feel a love for life.

  • 7 people are deaf, really ...

  • Have you ever noticed how there's always a monologue in the top comments?

  • Fuck, if I have to go to school when Skyrim comes, I will skip, tell my dad to buy Skyrim, go home, play, drink lemonade, have a great day

  • @RussianAndre Fuck that, I'll buy Skyrim, skip school for a month, stock up on Mountain Dew and Monster, and not leave my basement for a month.

  • @aewilson95 good idea.

  • Goddamned nostalgia... I want to play this again now.

  • I really can't wait to play oblivion. Currently playin the shit out of Morrowind, and it's A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • @HLimmen If you love Morrowind, Oblivion will maybe...disappoint you...

  • @HLimmen What noR3M0RSE said, Oblivion is good, just will never compare to Morrowind in terms of epic storyline and atmosphere....and a lot of other stuff lol.

  • i love this game so fucking much i cant put my feelings of it in words. Thank you Bethseda for making this "virtual world." To me, i wish it was real. Hell, sometimes it even seems better then our world. And thanks to Jeremy Soule for making the most beautiful, peaceful soundtrack ever made imo.

  • dude reading that makes me want to live in tamriel....if only :P

  • I dont know about you guys, but I loved getting high playing this music. Oblivion was just a bonus.

  • Heard this so fucking times, but NEVER, never get tired of hearing the music of this game, its pure magic.

  • @summersault Amen to that one. Nothing can ever compare to this!

  • 1:19 till bout 2:00 remind me of Bruma on a snowy day...

  • @juantanamo33 Heh, tough to get Bruma on a non-snowy day!

  • Comment removed

  • I've never played games in which the soundtrack was as important as it is in this series.

  • @andrewh817 halo....

  • You have my ear citizen.

  • Its amazing how the music and the game combines perfectly and gives us a psychological inner image to us and we related our world with it.. thats the great thing about this game..

    Nice soundtrack..

  • i everytime i hear this track i remember one night when i came out of the white stallion lodge. outside was a pretty heavy storm and i just stood there amazed watching how the leaves moved in the wind and how the lightning made the trees on the other side od the bay visible...

  • I saw a Mudcrab the otherday, Dirty little things.

  • This song reminds me of buying lockpicks from Shady Sam, running around the Imperial City, and breaking into people's houses. Nostalgia.

  • who will play oblivion again right before skyrim ?

  • @LucifersDisciple6 count me in ;)

  • @LucifersDisciple6 I rented it months ago, just bought it today and started and a new game. I haven't beaten it yet, and I was sick today, so it was a perfect day to live another life in another world.

  • @LucifersDisciple6

More like who will play TES 3 and 4 before Skyrim, I did enjoy the others like daggerfall but they're too dated for me now.

Before release I'm going to have a TES experience!

  • @mrdanni I actually just beat morrowind and the expansions for the first time. They are awesome works of art and I am now in the midst of beating oblivion and it's expansions for the 3rd time. Such awesome games.

  • @jhurricanec If you don't mind old games, go grab Daggerfall, it's abandonware now. There is literally a skill for everything, and my characters have progressed from Daggerfall, to Morrowind, to Cyrodiil and soon they will be up fighting dragons with the Nords in Skyrim! (well, one of 'em will be home, fighting dragons in skyrim..)

  • @irishfinger does that mean your character is a Nord then?

  • @LucifersDisciple6 My game died, so no.

  • @LucifersDisciple6 Man I still play oblivion since it came out, there is no RPG like it, the only game can be better is Skyrim.

  • @LucifersDisciple6 Most of us never stopped.

  • @LynaMahariel jep =D

  • @LynaMahariel Agreed! Playing it now for 4 years and theres still something to discover, Oblivion is legend!

  • @LucifersDisciple6 i am :) bought it for my girlfriend too so she can experience it, then she'll appreciate skyrim.

  • @r0bz0rly lucky girl :)

  • luckier guy :)

  • @LucifersDisciple6 How about 10 times before Skyrim!

  • @LucifersDisciple6 I already am

  • @LucifersDisciple6 thats true! D:

But I still play morrowind :D

  • @LucifersDisciple6 me lmao

  • @LucifersDisciple6 I'm going to play Oblivion after skyrim.

  • By the nine divines!

  • Meet me at Cyrodiil when we die.

Wait, let me mark the location on your map.

  • Never forget.

  • This soundtrack along with that of halo are the two best game soundtracks ever this one is first of the two

  • Marvellous!

  • YOU SHOULD HAVE PAID THE FINE!

  • Hmm, to buy Skyrim or Mass Effect 3... decisions, decisions.... mebbe I'll buy both ;O

  • @Fr0st1989 both or skyrim. forget mass effect 3. it won't be as epic.

  • @supah1337B blasphemy! I love ME! but I'm looking forward to Skyrim just as much.

  • WOOHOO! Got the soundtrack on my iPhone!

  • 7 people serve Mehrunes Dagon...

  • 2:15 sounds like a death scene :'(

  • 7 people are annoying fans

  • he does, doesn't he? you expressed what i think, just relaxing, looking deep into the empire. kudos to you. 11/11/11

  • wait.. my son and i share the same account...

  • God I missed this music :)

  • I open my eyes to an unexplainable realm of magics beyond thought, mysteries beyond answers, a place where I lay outside, gazing afar, the mighty empire of Cyrodiil. The trees swaying with every wind, the gentle breeze gliding across my face. The night-time skies covering me from danger, the cool-but warm summer night, relaxing under it, with a cold Cyrodiilic Brandy in hand, and free of care and thought--Then I realize it's just a dream.

  • @wowboy111 ...damn dude.

  • @wowboy111 deserves a thumb!
