I believe in God but not the God of the Bible. I view God more like conscious light and energy, the source of love, wisdom and life. I don't believe God can be contained in any one religion, philosophy or spiritual organization - I believe "he" is infinite and supercedes them all.
However, religion can be a great way for us to begin or continue learning about God. I also focus more on Jesus' teachings than his death.
Interesting.....I do believe in the the God of the bible. The central thing theme of the bible is we have a loving God who came to earth as a man (Jesus) and died for us because we choose Rebellion. His death is important because when he died we died with him in our sins (If we believe) So our sins and our past is buried with him! And when he resurrected so did we in our new birth & Life!
That's good. Christianity helped me out a lot as a teenager. I was having conflict problems with my father at the time, and Jesus served as an excellent role model for love, tolerance and forgiveness.
I wouldn't be where I am today as a person were it not for Jesus and Christianity. This is where my hunger and interest in God (love) began. In fact, I listened to praise and worship music this morning while sleeping. It's good stuff. :)
