Our entire life is based on faith same as Abraham and Moses and the apostles. The whole Bible is a work of Faith. Trust in God's word the Bible is the work of Faith. Faith is what sets genuine Christianity apart from all other belief systems, and a Living God is what makes that faith alive.

Also, in Hebrews 1:6, God commanded the angels to worship Jesus. In John 5:22,23, we are told to worship Jesus like we would God. In Rev 5:11-14, Jesus being the lamb of God, and God are worshiped together by everyone and everything.

Jesus is God made flesh (John 1:1) (John 1:14) (John 8:58 (notice he's saying he has existed longer than his years)) Also (John 17:5) Look at Revelations 1:8 and Revelation 22:13, 16.

Christ is the image of God to mankind. God - omnipotent, revealed Himself to mankind, in Christ. God was made flesh, and sacrificed on the cross for our salvation. @madorao I believe the actions of Jesus Christ overcoming death on the cross forgives all sin for those who would choose to accept the messiah whether it was in the Old or New Testament era. What sin did the father commit btw? I assume the Rabbi's you speak of are the same as those who had Jesus condemned to death. Why would they believe the in the prophecies? The bible contains 66 different books the vast majority by different authors. Not every Christian believes in the rapture...I don't.

Actually the Jewish priests at the time of Jesus did believe very strongly in prophecy. They rejected Jesus because they believed that he did not fullfil messianic prophecy in Hebrew scripture. They also believed that Jesus was not what the messiah was supposed to be and that he did not do the things that the messiah was supposed to do.
If you look at Hebrew scripture (what we call the OT) then the Jewish priests may have a point.

@shilohrenovation all those accounts were fabricated in the bible. i'm not sure but as far as i know there is no consensus at all regarding the fulfillment of prophecies and it has not been historically verified. try listening to christopher hitchens with an open mind please:) .
(i) How many miracles did Jesus actually perform in front of the Jewish priests? None that I'm aware of. Should they have believed based on gossip and stories circulated by his followers?
(ii) Even if they believed that some of the miracles had taken place, how were they to have known that they were not magic tricks or illusions (common at the time) or acts of Satan?
The messiah was supposed to restore the nation of Israel, glorify it over all other nations and usher in the kingdom of God on earth and an era of peace - Obviously Jesus didn't do this.
The messiah was supposed to be the King of the nation of Israel. - Jesus was never king.
Elijah was supposed to return before the messiah. - Elijah never returned.
The messiah wasn't supposed to be a divine entity, the Son of God or God himself. He was supposed to be a man blessed by God
@madorao The bible had MANY facts written in it before scientists came up with them. In the bible it says the earth was round (when thousands of years later, people STILL thought the earth was flat), it said the stars were uncountable (even tho scientists after this was written, had tried counting all of them) and it also explains the Hydrologic cycle thousands of years before scientists figured this out. Read the bible if you want to know more.....
@lonsted123 actually anything that emits heat only produces electromagnetic waves, though those you stated are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, visible light/infrared and ultraviolet are different things, so you cannot generalize them as light

@durjanh 3) As a Christian, I realised that the Bible doesn't simplistically say what we want it to say as in a direct fashion but here is where we say that our belief in Jesus is the work of FAITH. Our entire life is based on faith same as Abraham and Moses and the apostles. The whole Bible is a work of Faith. Trust in God's word the Bible is the work of Faith. Faith is what sets genuine Christianity apart from all other belief systems, and a Living God is what makes that faith alive.

In the Bible, Jesus and worship of him was prophesied (Dan 7:13,14) Jesus was worshiped and never rebuked anyone for doing so (Mat 28:9) (Mat 28:17) (Luke 24:52) (John 9:38). Also, in Hebrews 1:6, God commanded the angels to worship Jesus. In John 5:22,23, we are told to worship Jesus like we would God. In Rev 5:11-14, Jesus being the lamb of God, and God are worshiped together by everyone and everything.

@palmzhd Did you read the scripture I posted? It's pretty clear. You say Christ is just a man. What scripture are you referencing? Jesus is the son of God (John 3:16-18). Jesus is God made flesh (John 1:1) (John 1:14) (John 8:58 (notice he's saying he has existed longer than his years)) Also (John 17:5) Look at Revelations 1:8 and Revelation 22:13, 16.

Christ is the image of God to mankind. God - omnipotent, revealed Himself to mankind, in Christ. God was made flesh, and sacrificed on the cross for our salvation. Is he only a Man because he was flesh? No. If he was just a man, he wouldn't have been able to live a sinless life. Read all the scripture I posted.

The big problem with movies is the man-made synthetic emotion created by audio scores and film tricks. This distorts the context of God's Word as it is written. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge this is walking a fool's path. Throw away your television and stick with the original translated text. If you think you need more than that than it is obvious that you are still living a "worldly" life and not willing to sacrifice it for God. He has no use for technology as it is a tool created by evil.

@lonsted123 In the Hebrew there are two words for light: "or" and "maor". The sun is "maor" like a light bulb. It is the source of the light. God is "or," the light itself. I am pretty sure I am correct but if I used the Hebrew incorrectly plz correct me so that I do not make the same mistake again. God bless you.

@lonsted123 ummm yes the sun gives 99.9% of light for the earth. god created stars n stuff in one day and spent the rest of his week creating the birds, bees, rocks, humans...and then spent his time until now watching the mundane stuff humans do... picking out the ones he wants to torture in hell for eternity..

@madorao 99.9% of the light HUMANS see, infact nearly anything that emits heat produces light. Hence why Infra red and ultra violet cameras can see as clear as day in the dark of night.

1) How am I twisting science? Is light not the byproduct of thermal intensity? no science book will tell you that light is the sun....
I think IF the bible was talking about visible light in Gen ch1 v3 it would of said "let there be visible light" funny the difference a word can make.
If you note in Gen ch1 v 15-18 the bible tells you about visible light.
the bible is as simple as the mind reading it.

the bible is as simple, barbaric and primitive as the people who wrote it.
i wonder, have you seen the vastness of our universe. why would god create billions of stars and galaxies we can't even see? does the bible give any facts we didn't know before?

@madorao Simple? Tell me how is it that the exact measurements of the arc in KJV have been utilised to make modern day ships - it was exactly 6 times longer than it was wide.
Barbaric? John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that someone may lay down his life for his friends".
Primitive? There are thousands of prophecies in the Old Testament relating to the new about the coming messiah written by many different authors - all coming to pass with perfect accuracy.

And prophecies? c'mon even learned rabbis do not believe the "prophecies" were fulfilled. the bible is a book written by man. you are trying to prove one made up story in the book to be true using content form the same book. what about all other prophecies? when will the rapture come?

@madorao I believe the actions of Jesus Christ overcoming death on the cross forgives all sin for those who would choose to accept the messiah whether it was in the Old or New Testament era. What sin did the father commit btw? I assume the Rabbi's you speak of are the same as those who had Jesus condemned to death. Why would they believe the in the prophecies? The bible contains 66 different books the vast majority by different authors. Not every Christian believes in the rapture...I don't.

@madorao The thing about the the rapture for me is that people depend on it for their faith. I don't depend on this thing but it is not for me to judge others who do rather pray for them and you. I would like to give you a piece of the light (visible or not :P) by the way of scripture...

Hi. Thanks for sharing. You said the Rabbis do not believe prophecy? They did not believe Christ despite miracles! How do you account for these prophecies. Let's just take a couple: born of a virgin in bethlehem. He will be rejected by his own people, yet be a light to the gentiles! He will be killed before the destruction of the temple. Now, it is historically verified that these were written prior to Christ. God loves you!

Actually the Jewish priests at the time of Jesus did believe very strongly in prophecy. They rejected Jesus because they believed that he did not fullfil messianic prophecy in Hebrew scripture. They also believed that Jesus was not what the messiah was supposed to be and that he did not do the things that the messiah was supposed to do.
If you look at Hebrew scripture (what we call the OT) then the Jewish priests may have a point.

@shilohrenovation all those accounts were fabricated in the bible. i'm not sure but as far as i know there is no consensus at all regarding the fulfillment of prophecies and it has not been historically verified. try listening to christopher hitchens with an open mind please:) .

(i) How many miracles did Jesus actually perform in front of the Jewish priests? None that I'm aware of. Should they have believed based on gossip and stories circulated by his followers?
(ii) Even if they believed that some of the miracles had taken place, how were they to have known that they were not magic tricks or illusions (common at the time) or acts of Satan?

The messiah was supposed to restore the nation of Israel, glorify it over all other nations and usher in the kingdom of God on earth and an era of peace - Obviously Jesus didn't do this.
The messiah was supposed to be the King of the nation of Israel. - Jesus was never king.
Elijah was supposed to return before the messiah. - Elijah never returned.
The messiah wasn't supposed to be a divine entity, the Son of God or God himself. He was supposed to be a man blessed by God

@madorao The bible had MANY facts written in it before scientists came up with them. In the bible it says the earth was round (when thousands of years later, people STILL thought the earth was flat), it said the stars were uncountable (even tho scientists after this was written, had tried counting all of them) and it also explains the Hydrologic cycle thousands of years before scientists figured this out. Read the bible if you want to know more.....

@lonsted123 actually anything that emits heat only produces electromagnetic waves, though those you stated are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, visible light/infrared and ultraviolet are different things, so you cannot generalize them as light

I believe the word of God and not man who is so arrogant to question the existence of God. That will affect you for eternity whether you believe it or not. Do not be deceived by arguments by men who question God while we invent explanations to answer questions - theory of evolution which is in In crisis.
