this is th ecrapest drive.commm!!!non stop beeping sound , and all of a sudden my laptop is not recognising it!!!am super duper pissed off,,,all my data is in there.but thank God by boyfriend is a computer scientist, he is goin to take it to a data recovery specialist @ his work

I bought this and it messed up within a week I moved a file off it onto my desk top and all of a sudden it changed to not initailized and wont work and wont let me initailize it sais not ready it beeps lights up beeping stops after a few min and does nothing it can be found in hard ware still says goflex and says working properly can anyone help?

@Jenwynrose mine is doing something similar to that. Its beeping but the lights are still on and not fading like its suppose to. i just emailed the company and im waiting for a response

Hey,

How are you doing? I have brought the same as yours. But I have experienced that external hardware works only in my mac. I can not connect that to my PC. Whenever I connect that to my PC , the only way I can find that hardware is by going to Device and Hardware tab, not in my computer where I can actually go into that.

Since I am a student and I need to use both mac and pc so could you help me with that. That will be highly appreciated.

@kluvstony82 are u on a mac? plugging through the usb ports on the keyboard will make it beep, becuz there is not enough power, use the mac itself.

hi there,

after using this drive for few months,now i m unable to detect this external drive on any OS(xp,windows7),light of drive gets on,and i changed the cable too but the drive is not at all detected,instead an alarm type beep(inside the drive)is heard only for few minutes,then nothing heard,i have my important data on that drive,please help

what's the automatic backup software like? Does it happen every time you plug it in and slow your computer, or can you cancel if you just want to use it on someone else's comp?

i saw this at target for i believe 64.99(usb 2.0) and 69.99(usb 3.0). Which one should i get because i might go back and get it. Will the 3.0 usb connector that come with the drive itself work with my laptop(which is only 2.0 i think...i haven't try any 3.0 usb connector with my laptop yet, so don't know if my laptop will read it) or do i even need a 3.0 usb connector(just because it might come in handy some day)......
