I agree with the previous posts, an absolute classic in terms of film content. However, as has been suggested with other early classics, I think another educating film should be made - leaving off where the last one finished off.
This was one of my most favorite films as a little girl. So love the Brit movies - always seem to speak me more than my American counterparts. Very nice to hear lyrics to a truly exceptional film about a woman. We have few of those over here!
"I Can't Dance" by David Hentschel, apparently it's on the B side of the 7" single release of the Educating Rita theme tune but not on the album. It's on youtube.
Beautiful! I never kknew this tune had vocals to it! I always know it as an intsrumental piece from the movie which is also one of my favourite movies! It's a great film! Thats going in my favourites definately!
The original version was written and performed by David Hentschel. A well-known record producer and synthesizer musician. He has worked with Genesis, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Mike Oldfield and a lot more.

I've been trying to find that out for ages. It sounds like Human League but I don't think it is.

It's weird to hear a vocal version. Somehow the original synthesizer version was more... Rita.
