  • I agree with the previous posts, an absolute classic in terms of film content. However, as has been suggested with other early classics, I think another educating film should be made - leaving off where the last one finished off.

  • What am I on about, it's probably already in the works.

  • excellent film! and the song is just perfect!

  • This was one of my most favorite films as a little girl. So love the Brit movies - always seem to speak me more than my American counterparts. Very nice to hear lyrics to a truly exceptional film about a woman. We have few of those over here!

  • Rita, I miss you!

  • I used to be a mature student like Rita and I think the world of this film and the theme music.

  • has anybody seen the part where frank is in the flamingo club? does anyone know what the music is called which is playing in the background?

  • I've been trying to find that out for ages. It sounds like Human League but I don't think it is.

  • I dont know? Did you find out ??

  • "I Can't Dance" by David Hentschel, apparently it's on the B side of the 7" single release of the Educating Rita theme tune but not on the album. It's on youtube.

  • This was a reply to Michw120's query re what music is playing in the flamingo club.

  • Hi Brenda of the Asylum. John has never forgotten!

  • Beautiful! I never kknew this tune had vocals to it! I always know it as an intsrumental piece from the movie which is also one of my favourite movies! It's a great film! Thats going in my favourites definately!

  • Fantastic :o)

  • The original version was written and performed by David Hentschel. A well-known record producer and synthesizer musician. He has worked with Genesis, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Mike Oldfield and a lot more.

  • It's weird to hear a vocal version. Somehow the original synthesizer version was more... Rita.

  • Who made the original version?

  • The instrumental one...

  • Sorry, I had this song on the album '' Barbara Dickson Songbook''

    A superb song, superb singer.

  • Fantastic. I had this on Barbara's album ''All For A Song'' and loved it. So good to hear it again. Top quality as always.
