great video, pleasure to fly in that region isnt´it?:) what is the weight of your gear? and one more question, where I can get that cool beanie with redbull patch:)?
Here's a question: why does nearly every single PPG pilot refuse to give a ballpark cost estimate? It seems to happen unanimously. No one's asking for an exact, legally binding price, just an really broad ballpark. If I call dealer X, I won't know what to ask for out of the myriad of products, but someone who's done it can give a good ballpark.
@fadecomic for good used equipment i'd say about $8k. for new gear around $11k. shooting from the hip on that, but it should be somewhere in the ballpark. i have no idea what instruction costs, depending on the dealer it might be included with the cost of instruction. blue skies.
@airothar sweet :) i have anpther question, if u had a full tank and you went for a flight how long would that tank last like how long could be in the air before its empty like 5 hours in a single flight? If you know what I mean
@SmokeyCough technically you don't need a license. there are associations like the USPPA that ofer qualified training through certified instructors, which is the recommended way to learn.
I am getting a Flat Top - talked to Dell - just working out shit. I'm looking you up some day to do some crazy flyin - say - Pukaskwa Park coast on Lake Superior ??? -real nice - lots of hidden beaches and Georgian Bay - 30,000 islands. Check out my vids - bushpilot50
How often can you fly that low without the risk of rotors or things of that nature? I'm still learning a lot about the sport but what interests me the most is low level flying like what your doing in the video. Is it only very calm days you can fly like this?
@BroNizzle ya, you certainly have to be aware of wind strength and direction so you can identify where the lee is and where to avoid rotors. this particular flight was in calm conditions because i knew i wanted to fly really low in places that would be dangerous with any kind of wind. when i fly low in windy conditions i just make sure i am on the upwind side of any obstacles/ terrain.
outstanding! im considering making this a serious hobby, though there are so many sites claiming their product "is the best". what would you say is good equipment as far as powered paragliding goes?
Hello, im new to this and seriously thinking about doing this....what equipment do you need and if so how much would it total out to cost ? by the way nice videos :)
@saltydog1191 HELLO I LIVE IN GREAT BRITAIN. THINKING OF BUYING PARAMOTOR EQUIPMENT. THINK AS IT AS BUYING A CAR. SEE IT IN USE. SEE IT FLYING AND DEMO ON IT .IF YOU CAN. IAM NOT A NOVICE .BUT IF IAM LOOKING FOR A NEW WING OR PARAMOTOR ENGINE.I LOOK IN COMPETITION RESULTS THE FIRST FOUR POLL POSITIONS.MOST OF THE BEST PARAMOTOR EQUIPMENT COMES FROM EUROPE. E.G FLATTOP ISNT MADE IN USA.ENGINE MADE IN ITALY=EUROPE. AND ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR TO ADVISE YOU TOO.IF YOU DONT ASK YOU WONT FIND OUT.
anyhow, I would like to say that am welling for getting my new gears now .and Still up to my plans, but, need ur opinion as my weight is about 105 Kgs and am thinking to buy a tandum wich can handle another total wieght of me+ passenger + gear laod= 105+ 95 + 26 Kgs.
So, what be suitable & steady Gears as am thinking about power over = 125 thrust .
So it can be very fast as alone or very active dynamic as Tandum.
Skimming them tree tops reminds me of my flying dreams. One day i shall learn to ppg. Thanks for making/sharing this brilliant video. Colorado looks like a great playground.
Holy wow bro! Nice video and with one of my favorite method tracks too. And then the cold as nuts......unexpected shock followed by instant lmao!!! Goes in the faves.
Fantastic vid. I hope to start some paragliding lessons soon... and someday a motor. I suppose that is the natural order of things right? Or do folks sometimes skip right to motoring?
@drio420 ya i never did any flying without a motor. Just ground handle until your comfortable handling the glider. Then add the motor and ground handle. Then fly.
Lovely vid. Congrats. Scared me a bit. I get nervy close to the edges of the air. You have more faith in your engine than I do in mine... But really lovely.
I usually don't watch these more than once. But that was worth a second look. nice music too. I gather it was a no wind situation. I would be worried about rotor in them hills other wise. Keep safe and keep them coming.
this is fuckin creepin me out u can just go fly to ur friends house for a beer come back without ever havin to deal with traffic or barely touch the ground
ya, a skydive canopy flies pretty similar, of course the handling is a little different and the glide ratio is a lot different. but in the end they fly the same, pull right-go right, pull left-go left, pull both-stop.
I use a Sony CX7 mounted on my helmet. An important addition is the Hypeye D Pro from Hypoxic Extreme Electronics. it's a Camcorder Controller and Status Indication System so you don't miss the shot.
Gerbing heated gloves baby!! Get the G3s. Sooo sweet. Then you can plug them right into the electronics pack on the Flat Top. Or let me know and I'll build you a battery pack for your pocket. 800-707-2525 Dell
I just ordered a pair of those too so I have a spare for visitors. I'll let ya know which works better. The adapters are compatible so the electronics are the same:).
Get some respect for your life and your sport... alway fly with enough height to get out of trouble incase of power failure !!!

@B0rnToRoll average time on a tank of gas is 2.5-3hrs. it just depends how much you use the throttle.

@rs200000000000 high winds and flying in turbulence created by the heating of the earth in the middle of the day can be dangerous.

quick question, can you go up and down at will with this powered paragliding? sorta the same as a plane?
mouse746 1 year ago
@mouse746 yes you can climb pretty easy with it. just press the throttle and up you go.
airothar 1 year ago
@airothar how about diving is that easy or do you just have to let gravity bring you down?
mouse746 1 year ago
@mouse746 you can get down fast by pulling hard turns or "spin" or big ears pulling the wingtips in simulating a skydive parachute.

@billtruttschel i'm not sure of the actual horse power, guessing 25-30. ive taking 3020bs on it while doing tandems.
