Yea, I was actually at that 84 ACL show. Eric has been playing that song for a long time and it's evolved a bit over the years. This clip was recorded in 85. Even back then, I had numerous tapes of Eric playing Manhattan and I kinda snagged my favorite things from all of them to get this version.

Now that's how you do a cover! Super original phrasing in the solos. You made it your own. I must add, great feel, too.
I really dislike all of the YouTube covers that are just straight forward, note-for-note boredom.
