I sound so lame and pretentious recounting this but the other day someone asked me how I would describe beauty and I played them this song - it says it better than words ever could.
i am filled with the joy of ages, an archetypal bliss, one that bleeds slowly into being, probing and expanding. Temporally abrupt, its length all but long enough.
This song reminds me of waiting for the sun to rise on the beach and wondering what the day would bring with it..Feeling lost but with the comfort and grounding that comes with feeling close to nature. I often wished this song had been made into a longer story that went on for hours and carried me further into my new day.
its been years since i found any new music that makes me want to dance naked through fields busting moves like a complete twat and also brings introspective tears to my eyes at the same time. Bibio is a genius, i have yet to find a track of his i dislike.
@brookecreative11 He has a new album called mind bokeh out, but it's not very similar to the stuff he is doing here. It's still super cool but not as good as the stuff on ambivalence avenue or this album.
Wow who would have thought that folk acoustic instruments would mix so well with electronic beats. This song sounds so natural. It reminds me of someone walking down a trail and being mesmerized by nature.
This song is great... but it seems to be covering the same ground as Broken Social's first record in 2001 (Feel Good Lost). I like, but it's not groundbreaking by any means.
This video is timeless and yet still makes me think of all the beauty and profound words that nature and life can bring to us.The music, is what sets it all alight, the hope, the love, the journey it takes you on,the complete transformation is sets inside you;like being kissed for the first time,or learning to ride a bike,or singing your first song,or being in love. This song makes think of all the good things in life. This song continues to amaze me. I love you Raphie :) this song is for you.
This song is awesome. I came across Bibio because of the Amazon Kindle advert. I just wish they would play more music like this on the radio more often so people can find it without having to look for a long time. This song is better than anything at the charts at the moment.
what is the effect on the video seen at 0:07 (something about the color of the sun on the trees). It just gives the me the nicest feelings. I feel this is a common effect among old film of the nature when it is sunny. Is there a name for this effect?
@phillyP84 Good to see a fellow camper :thumbs up: I always have such fond memories of stuff I hear on camping trips, those songs always stick with me.
woah I used to drive past cape san sebastian park shown in this video everyday on my way to school! grew up in brookings oregon and went to school in gold beach when I was a kid, drove by the coast shown here in oregon every day..... awesome, and great song!
awesome vid, I used to live in brookings oregon on highway 101! i can rcognzie some of the coast in thsi vid. also lived in medford oregon. awesome music
i think i love every song bibio has made, an antidote to the radio, makes me think of Nick Drake sometimes, especially some of his older stuff. keep it up! we need you!!
@tiff0089 Check out Need More Sources'-'Shed', anything by The Books, The Boats (earlier stuff is more guitar orientated, new stuff is more electronic), Grand Union, From Leaf to Feather; slightly more electronic-Savath & Savalas, Boom Clap Bachalors, Murcof; slightly even more electronic-Felix Laband, Im Not A Gun. Some are along different lines than Bibio, but all have a sort of dreamlike quality. ;)
'Vignetting the Compost' is an absolutely gorgeous album. The first album I listened to from him was 'Hand Cranked' and that's where I fell in love. It makes me think of being farther away from civilization. Walking through a thick forest. Discovering life. Soaking in the warm golden rays of a sunset. Bibio makes feel good music :) and I listen to it often.
@shimmeryshelly Check out 'Fi' and 'Ovals and Emeralds' ep as well. He has 2 new albums out too—'Ambivalence Avenue' and 'The Apple and the Tooth' (which has remixes n stuff), they're both very different from the previous albums, though you can still hear earlier elements. ;)
No, he's definitely been around. Check out the albums: Fi, Hand Cranked, Vignetting the Compost, Ovals and Emeralds, Ambivalence Avenue, and Apple and the Tooth. :)
Such a great song. Reminds me of : Being with that special someone , skateboarding ( my preferred method of transportation ) off into the sunset without care , Taking a nature walk in the mountains all day , Etc. Just makes me love life and want whats best for me and everyone else. Pretty much just motivates me to do well and succeed in life. :]
This song is so creatively beautiful. I don't understand how someone can compose a song this inspiring and gorgeous. This song is my incentive to live. Listen to how all of the multiple sounds blend perfectly together.. The beauty of Folk Rock.

Love it. If you're a fan of trippy electronic music, please check out my setting of Byron's poem 'Darkness' to music. Sorry about the spam. Peace.

This reminds me of a song I heard in Man in the Moon with Reese Witherspoon.
It was the one of those scenes where she was swimming with that guy she was in love with.
But anyways, yes...this song is AMAZING

I don't know why, but every time I listen to this amazing melody, it takes to far places in my mind and makes me think deeply about life.
I guess that's the magic of The Ephemeral Bluebell.
