I'm English and our notes are really different, our 20 is purple, ten is an orange kind of colour, five is green and 50 is red. Is it true that Australian paper money is actually made from plastic?
i remember when our currency changed. the 50 cent coins used to be about the size of the ring you can make with your thumb and forefinger, and the 20c coins were larger, and the 10c coins were silver, not copper. also, the 5c coins had a tuatara on the back. i was like 8 when it changed
We used to have 5, 10, and 20c coins that were pretty much identical to Australia's, besides the pictures on the front. But then we changed our currency to make it smaller and more easy to carry and scrapped the 5c coin. It's better now, but also kind of a bummer because I can't just spend all my leftover small change when I get back from Australia like I used to, haha.
WTF, why si your $2 coin smaller than the one dollar, ???????? Can you not picture that a $2 coin has more value than a $1 coin, therefore the $2 coin should be larger???????????????
@Rorzzz123 Thats because you Australians, steal everything of ours, our racehorse, OUR PAVLOVA... etc..., and what do you mean you win at everything no you dont, have you been watching the rugby lately, I dont think so, cus if you did you would see that we kick your asses every time you step foot onto a field with us!!!!!!!!!!
nz money is more better because u mite have a litte pocket and if you put the australian money in the pocket it my fall out and you have no money for shit but if you have nz money you can hold it for long and long and long see australian moneys shit
@hariruia plus the bigger the coins the more heavier it will be in you pocket, you will be able to tell and australian apart from a New Zealander who both have $100 worth of 50 cent coins quite easily, The australian will have ITS pants around their Knees, and a New Zealander will be walking down the street just fine, the smaller the coins the lighter = less conspicuous which means less asualts for your money. Bloody australians, cant trust em ae!!!
the groves are there so blind people can tell the difference between the coins. the size of a coin is also helpful to them. size applys to notes as well. $5 notes are the smallest and $100 notes are the largest
Im pretty sure the groves in the nz coins are for people who are blind or have poor eyesight
