great, but when it said demo i thought somebody was going to show what all those switches do, I am guessing the top horizontal ones are on-offs for the pickups, but the three vertical ones? what do they do?
Quality video man. I am looking at buying a Jag in the future, I've played one for an hour or so but it wasn't enough to get the real feel of it. Your video did a great job showing the versatility of this gorgeous instrument, not to mention, your a pretty solid guitarist. Impressive, thank you!
I like this guitar except it doesn't have a true Jaguar Tail Piece. Just that little bit of chrome makes a big difference. My Jaguar isn't happy! Good video though.
I bought a new Jaguar in 1964. They were cheaper than the other Fenders at the time. They were never considered to be as good as a Strat or Tele in those days. I bought a Lake Placid blue one and I bough t a Jag because I couldn't afford a Strat or Tele.
It's good to see that they are somewhat sought after now. I don't even remember what I did with mine. Probably gave it away when I went to Vietnam. I wish I had it back now. Big bucks on Ebay now.
of course the pickups that came in my mustang were awful but once you change the pickups its a great guitar it has the nicest neck ive had on any guitar
@furorelondon You can't let the dislikes bother you, no matter what type of video it is you will always get dislikes, some people spend all day on youtube just disliking videos. Your doing a great job so keep going :) don't forget about the 356 likes you also have :)
Hey fellows, i know this is dumb but i want to know if it's possible. Is it possible to replace guitar neck of an esquire strat with aftermarket neck of real deal ? Just to say i already have Gibson les paul but i want to bragg with fender but i don't have enough money to buy real one
@stevenhyde1960 No gibson is not shitty, matter fact i am more statisfied with gibson than fender stratocaster. Recently i tried one and i instantly denied it. It has 2 frets less than Les Paul and it has big block of wood when i am playing above the 12th fret.
@MrHeavysteel there's only one fret difference on a stratocaster and it depends on what strat it is there's one's that have 22 frets as well i have a les paul and i prefare my fender mustang any day it has a sweeter sound than a les paul and im plannig on selling that soon for an olympic white humbucker model jaguar
@RedVader29 It really is quite the tempting guitar!
My looking at Robert's own, the Schecter Ultracure, I can't help but feel torn between the two! I think I'll give both of them a thorough testdrive, given I'm still a few cents away of actually being able to afford one >< ;)
Thank you for your reaction, and much respect for your videos!
I'm looking for a guitar giving me sounds ranging from 'Robert Smith cleans' to 'Jack White distortion' - would this guitar be a good pick? Or for the money, ae there other options I should consider?
I have owned this guitar for 8 months and have spent my fair share of soup ups for it.
I reccomend a tube amp if your style is jazzy and classic like most jag players, a tube overdrive is good for grunge and alternative stylings. I didn't replace anything on the guitar but I had to remove the pickups to get all that pesky packing plastic off the body. I really enjoy turning the gain up to seven and stomping on the phase shifter, Real unique qualities to this guitar, it just rings like a bell :D
I just wanted to say this: If anyone here is contemplating buying this guitar, stop thinking. Just buy it. I have never owned a guitar with such a wide range of tones, with such a good look, and such great playability. BUY IT.
man i played one of these at guitar center and fell in love. they just look so classy and have such a nice thick jazzy sound, but can scream if you need them too. WANT!!
Ive had this guitar for about two years. i fuck my hand up on the bridge sometimes just because you really need to wail on it to get that sharp snapping tone out of it. love it though.
cool guitar. but kurt cobain plaied it. and i hate kurt cobain, his music is porbably some of the worst music of the last 50 years. thanks to him now that guitar is to me the symbol of shit
@charliegray12212 oh well i would and could have said in my opinion, but Nirvana is horrible i mean, they are, it's not my opinion, it's a non confutable fact

Dont like the sound of the pickups. I would swap em for a PAF Pro and a Super Distortion. Typical Gibson type bridge that limits your playing, also. Ill go for the Jagmaster and upgrade it with the floyd rose and dimarzios. I do like the 24 scale necks over the 25.5. Just my opinion.
@journeyquest1 This guitar is perfect at being what it is. If you don't like that, buy a different one. Don't be impertinent buy suggesting how it could be made into a completely different guitar. This is a Jaguar HH, not an Ibanez.
@furorelondon Well fucking said dude. That was perfectly put. Would you recommend this guitar? Im looking at getting one. Does it have bridge problems? or staying in tune problems?
@LWRCftw coil cut or turn pickups on/off, and the one at the top turns on only the neck in parallel wiring, and adds seperate treble and bass controls
furorelondon, is the bridge still the same as on the old models.
I'm asking because i have a 1972 jag...nice sound, but not suitable for some styles because of the typical buzz.
i know you could change the bridge to one from a mustang and put a buzz stop on it, but sometimes i like the buzz. But from what i can hear the hh has no buzz,or am i wrong? buzzzzzzzzzzzz :-)
@dirtypaper They swapped out the original bridge for a tuneomatic. I think its because the strings would pop out off the bridge if you played to hard or something like that.
@jakeyboy2929 This particular model only comes in black. The white one is a Classic Player Jaguar, which I think also has humbuckers but I've never played it.
Which bits are you having trouble with, I could tell you what I'm doing. I haven't got the patience to tab the whole thing out myself though unfortunately.

I think you're a great guitarist, but I really do believe that are some great musicians who had little talent.
As long as you but your all into your playing, I think "talent" is really a subjective thing. I can play all kinds of music, but almost all my favorite and most creative guitarists had virtually no technical talent.
@Flea817 "most creative guitarists had virtually no technical talent". But creativity is a talent, no? Technical ability is just one of many things to consider. The beetles didn't have much technical ability, but they were extremely talented as musicians.

oh man i saw this guitar at guitar center and instantly fell in love with it then i sat dwn to play it and i was like damn i want this too bad they cost so damn much
Hey im thinking of buying one of these or an American Strat, everyone tells me to go w the strat simply because its american and is a lot better crafted, What do you guys think? Thanks! :)
@SexyFuckingBeast1 american strat you would think is better because its american but when you play them side by side the jaguar is better. thats my opinion but im a blues/classic rock guy
I would go with this over the Strat. Only the American strats are worth while, and if you get a Mexican one, you need to upgrade the substandard parts. The Jaguar HH is a very versatile guitar and could probably play anything from metal, punk, grunge, blues and clean. I believe it's Japanese made and should be good right out of the box.

that tone at the james bond part is perfect! What distortion pedal are you using?
TheSchoolsux345 2 years ago
No pedals, just the guitar running straight into the litlte Marshall 15 watt you can see in the corner.
It's the guitar making that tone lovely sound :)

Hey im thinking of buying one of these or an American Strat, everyone tells me to go w the strat simply because its american and is a lot better crafted, What do you guys think? Thanks! :)
SexyFuckingBeast1 2 years ago
@SexyFuckingBeast1 american strat you would think is better because its american but when you play them side by side the jaguar is better. thats my opinion but im a blues/classic rock guy

would it look weird if i bought this guitar then put a 22 fret telecaster neck on it? i think it would look awsome
theboywhocantollie 2 years ago
i was thinking of putting a jazzmaster neck on one

I would go with this over the Strat. Only the American strats are worth while, and if you get a Mexican one, you need to upgrade the substandard parts. The Jaguar HH is a very versatile guitar and could probably play anything from metal, punk, grunge, blues and clean. I believe it's Japanese made and should be good right out of the box.
