@RoyalRzerve420 Well i knew mark doucette he went to my high school in tsawwassen B.C, and Gerry once did our battle of the bands back in 89, lol they lived very close to my old house in tsawwassen would always see gerry walk past my house or bye me down the road .
I think part of the reason this song didn't do well in the US is the sound quality. Whoever engineered/produced this track should never have worked again. They almost ruined a great song.
Haha im not kidding right now but im 15 and i havent seen him for while but we are good friends, he taught me how to play by a campfire one night right beside my dads house
"starting with The Reefers during his childhood. He eventually moved to Vancouver, British Columbia and subsequently signed a solo recording deal with Mushroom Records." LOL!!! Keyword, VANCOUVER!
@NovaScotian1992 LOL!! I like them too. But they don't have a guitarist on par with JD. I saw JD do this live back in 77. It was AS GOOD as it is here. I am a guitarist and I am picky and i was VERY impressed. Too bad he imploded with too much coke back in the day.
Unbelievable, I can't believe you posted this song!!! Thank you!!!! My big brother
Brent started playing the drums around this time. He was 11. Today he is an accomplished musician and so is our younger brother Brandon, both killer Drummers. My Dad bought this record home one day, he was in a record store and heard this playing, I think it reminded him of his son the Drummer. Ahhhh the memories. I honestly havn't heard this song since 1979, but we never forgot it. Thanks for the memories!
Oh the good old day before the shitty top 40 lists when radio stations could play listener requests. First time i heard this song was on our local rock station WMMS
in Cleveland I call the station to get the artist and title went out and bought it and still have it today.!!
I was fortunate enough to see Jerry Doucette back in the late 70’s at Eastern Washington University. He is still one of the most talented guitarists that I’ve ever seen.
Its great to hear classic rock, Doucette is often confused with many bigger names but is one of the best Canadian singer songwriters. Rock and Roll will never take a back seat to anything pumped out today or should I say copied/sampled. Cheers!
hey everyone, i made an account just so i could comment on this video. im actually jerry's 2nd (maybe 3rd i dunno) cousin. my dad, david doucette, born in 1960 came from hamilton, ontario (which was a lot nicer back in the day) and jerrry came from montreal. they were cousins, and one day jerry actually saved my dads life! anyway, i just wanted him to see this if he ever happens to be on YouTube. THIS IS NOT A SPAM. thanks =)
@Jeff7477 What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on Youtube is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no respect, and may God have mercy on your soul.
My friend turned me on to Jerry back in the 70's and I been listening to his songs ever since. He did another song called "Down the Road" can someone post that one here as well?
AH Yes, seen at the PIT at UBC, twenty feet from JD plating, going deaf, drinking a big bottle of toscano bianco. Most accurately named bar in history, but we loved it... Thx very much
When I was a kid about 16 I met Jerry at his sister Pat's place at the time I was taking guitar lessons from Jerry's little brother Donald. We talked music all night long and he even showed me how to play VooDoo Chile on an old classical guitar what a super nice Man.Thanks Jerry. All the best to the Doucette Family....
Reminds me of tailgate parties with this music playing from vehicles at weiner roasts by camfire during fishin trips and summer get togethers in the late 70's with all our aunts, uncles, moms and dads and their freinds, while all us kids played all nite. The Labatts Blue used to flow quite abit back then.
when i was younger I used to live in the basement suite of gerry's house, i used to sneek upstairs and play nintendo 64 with him and his son, then my mom would come and get mad at me for sneeking inside their house... thought it was pretty funny..
@mustwinder Woha! Rush is NOT underrated. They have earned the respect of people all across the world. So many bands take inspiration from Rush it's not even funny. They're the biggest group of musicians to come out of Canada, and one of the few bands that are still shining and making music from the glorious Classic Rock era.
@dudewithfood12345 I grew up on Rush, seems like they didn't get the respect they deserve here in the States, are they in the R@R Hall of Fame? Thing is, they still put on an awesome show and those guys have to be close to 60.
@mustwinder They are amazing, talented musicians. But the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doesn't mean much. Bands like Journey,, Bon Jovi, The Guess Who, Styx and Iron Maiden aren't in there while Madonna is...so that discredits the organization.
But then again, Louis Armstrong was only inducted in 1990...so maybe they just take their time on some cases.

rnb is rythum and blues, blues was the begining of rock. after blues was "rock the billy" wich became "rock and roll". so don't knock blues cause it is the grandfather of rock. so what you want about "pop" cause it's just plain shit.
How many of you Doucette fans knew that I played this drum track 12 weeks after breaking my left hand (my cymbal hand - I set my drums up left-handed) in a car accident. I saw stars every time I hit any of my Crash cymbals! Ah....show biz!! :o)

taking me back a few years , yes they have past so fast , but what memories !!!! summer 78 to 80 , my sharona , don't bring me down , imotional rescue , i was made for loving you baby , i just could go on but hey ! the new generation has good music too, long live rock and roll and every feel good music !!!
This is on of my favorite '70's songs, by far! The guitar lick that Doucette has going on here is just amazing. Damn...I can't believe I found this again after so many years...and, yes, it brings back memories of the back seat of a white Camaro... Double-Damn!!!
I was just a baby when this came out, but it is one of the best classics of it's time....luckily, my momma DID let me play some rock and roll....

rnb is rythum and blues, blues was the begining of rock. after blues was "rock the billy" wich became "rock and roll". so don't knock blues cause it is the grandfather of rock. so what you want about "pop" cause it's just plain shit.

How many of you Doucette fans knew that I played this drum track 12 weeks after breaking my left hand (my cymbal hand - I set my drums up left-handed) in a car accident. I saw stars every time I hit any of my Crash cymbals! Ah....show biz!! :o)

This is on of my favorite '70's songs, by far! The guitar lick that Doucette has going on here is just amazing. Damn...I can't believe I found this again after so many years...and, yes, it brings back memories of the back seat of a white Camaro... Double-Damn!!!
