I'm from Laramie. The death of MS was a tragedy for himself and his family. There are indications that one of his killers (Kevin McKinney) was bisexual and a boyfriend of MS and was mad he (like MS) had contracted AIDS. Three days before the beating, MS ate lunch with a man in Laramie and told him he wanted to die because of the AIDS diagnosis. It's a sad, sad situation and simply-put, more complicated- than mere anti-gay hate crime
@pilou1953 You said it better than I have been able to say it, after all these years this crime still haunts me, while I may live half a world away I sent a message to the family the day I heard of this crime (Matthew was in the hospital when I sent the message).
