  • Peo, is there a place online where I can download beginner Carcassi and Carulli sheet music? I started teaching my 8 year old classical guitar Saturdays and we need to start building a repetoire of etudes but I need beginner level though. Any idea? Much appreciated.

  • Very nice I hope to play it at this tempo one day. Right now I am working on my accuracy, I just found your videos on YouTube they are a great resource

  • if i like it??? MY GOD!!!!!! lol XD

  • Take that Guitar Hero!

  • You added a repeat for the first section and that is awesome, very unexpected. Right into the second part, you do a staccato climb from 6th string E (ponticello) and then the legato climb starting on second string B (tasto). Carcassi recordings are nearly impossible to buy as mp3. You should record an album of Op 60.

  • Excellent playing. i really enjoy how you treat this piece like a genuine piece of music instead of just an etude. This was something i tried to strive for while working out some of these etudes. Thanks for the inspiration

  • Well played, also you look like Bill Gates lol

  • is this in a major?

  • Yes it is.

    Per-Olov.

  • @YDG777 Yes..is mayor interpretation!!! ;)

    regards!!!

  • @YDG777 Yes, A and Allegretto grazioso! =)

  • Couldn't help noticing that you're actually playing wrong notes in 1:19 :( it's 8 in e string and 10 on h string instead of 7 and 9... Nice articulation by the way! I really like this song and I think your thecnique is really good.

  • Very good playing, although it would sound so much nicer without that horrible reverb effect that you've smothered over the recording!

  • Bitchen

  • Your phrasing and musicality really brings this etude to life. Bravo!

  • very nice, especially the middle section. I am learning this piece at the moment. I would suggest listening more to the piece and including some rits.

  • my favorite carcassi video

  • You know, I used to play this and other studies played in Youtube long ago, but I had to give up this passion of mine years ago in order to do many other things in life (study at Uni, work... no time!). Now I'm trying to take up my old passion playing easy studies (Sor, Th. Robinson, etc.), but the feeling of frustration is high. I know the secret is "practice makes perfect", but can you give me any other moral recommendations to take it easier?

  • Hi! I've watched you playing several pieces in Youtube, and I can deduce by your mastery that you are a professional guitarist. I do really like your interpretations, the sound you get is so very clear, as well as your technique.

  • Maybe you could help me out, my guitar teacher told me to look up. M. Carcassi study 25... Not sure which one it is!!!

Is their a specific name for the song?

  • this is awesome!!! I always love a great classical guitarist

  • Beautiful romantic tone!

  • very good, I am from in chile, I would like to be like you, play guitar very well, I'm in the second year of classical guitar, with an effort....

  • this is #9 get it strait buddy

  • I am performing this piece next week, I love the piece. My version is slightly slower than yours, but I'm going to try to speed it up. I love how every note is clean with you.

  • It's the 9th study, not the 8th.

  • amazing!

  • My apoyando and tirrando are worthless and no use....wish had spent more time on these things. Very well excecuted and I am jalous....thank you .

  • AWESOME!!! I'm studying some works by him also, this is very wonderfully executed!

  • Excellent play and excellent recording!

How did you do the recording? With camcorder or a more proper equipment?

    Any specific microphone piece?

    thanks

  • nice glissando, good idea and very nice interpretation of course....

  • Thank you! Glad you like it.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Nice playing man! I was wondering, would you use two finger rest strokes to play those runs or all three fingers ? I have to play this at UNT so any advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks. I never use rest strokes while playing scales. And I always use three finger a m i .

    Good luck at UNT!!

  • Thanks!

  • Very nice,

    thank you!

  • This is excellent... I too have been playing all my life - but am ever frustrated that the guitar will never be "mastered" - not in my lifetime anyway...

    Thanks for the inspiration.

Have you considered Chopin for guitar?

  • Very Sweet

  • Very good !

    Good sound and interpretation

  • I like this study even though I feel that it does not fundamentally work on any one singular skill very intensely. The necessity for the performer to maintain the fluidity and conciseness of the piece is what makes this such an awesome etude. I like how you keep the pace through the rapid progressions very well but I also like how you maintain the rhythm and keep the notes clean through the slower mid section. Very well done!

  • Hi there. Thank you very much. I appreciate your commetn very much.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Excellent work one of my favorite Carcassi studies ! Very fluid.

  • good work !very good ! .....but this is the number 9 not the number 8 ....

  • wow that is nice. HOw long have you been playing???!! i would love to be able to do that. its probably easy for you.... practice makes perfect rite? but seriously, this is the best etude i seen so far

  • Thank you!

    I am honored.

I have played all my life. And I am still learning... every day. I am happy you like this "simple" piece. Nothing is easy in music. Even the simplest, shortest piece has to be practiced to be good.

    Per-Olov

  • Real good!!!!

I try to learn that... I said i TRY ^^

  • :-) good luck!!

    Thank you!

    Per-Olov

  • Hi Peo,

Great playing as always! Very enjoyable to listen to. I love the tone you are getting.

Question: is this really Op.60 No.8? In my Chanterelle edition of the score, this shows up as No.9.

    - Jeff

  • Hi there Jeff,

Thank you. I know there are some different opinions on the numbers. I think you can trust Chanterelle! They are very good! I used my old Karl Scheit version from Schott & Co. and I think it's wrong. So my guess is that this is no. 9.

    Per-Olov

  • Hi Per-Olov,

since I'm a fan of your guitarplay for a long time, it's the first time I post a comment. I love this easiness in your interpretation of the etude, bright and positive. It's very motivating.

    love & peace & music

    Michael

  • Dear Michael,

Thank you for your kind words. I am happy you commented at last! :-) I hope you will keep listening to me. And keep playing! It's the best!

love & peace & music to you too!

    Per-Olov

  • Lovely!

  • Thanks a lot!!

    Per-Olov

  • That was really beautiful a very nice tone you produce. how does your guitar stand like that, i looks like nothings supporting it, (apart from your leg)how does it stand so stiff?. anyway keep up the amazing music

  • Thank oyu!! I support my guitar with a Gitano (make a search) a great little thing!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • is it a day in an insect's life?

  • wow amazing like always Peo

  • detta måste vara 8 eller 9 på svårighetsgradsskalan...... Mycket bra spelat, som vanligt!

  • THANKS TO YOU!!!

  • Very nice!!!

  • Hey man, in my carcassi book. This is No.9

    Just fyi. hahah.

  • im glad im not the only one whose book says no.9 for this one also !!!!

  • Underbart per! Det är alltid trevligt att lyssna på dina framförande !! (särskillt när man hittar en låt man inte lyssnat på än)

    / Alexander

  • o my gosh how long have u been playing to get this good ??? iv been playin for nearly 3 yrs and wont to carry- have u got any tips for the oral awarness part of my exam ????

  • i love your playing very well.please can you adjust no 15 from opus 60.i want to see you playing this nice litte study.please please, can you satisfy a great wish for a great fan ??

  • LOL... thanks. I have so many things I have to play! I will see if I can find time to record it... but right now I doubt it. I am moving from my house... :-(

    Per-Olov

  • The other thing that I like about you other than your superb guitar playing is your attitude. You always seem so positive about everything... and I admire that.

  • LOL

Thank you. Appreciated! How can i not be positive when I get so nice comments? :-)

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • This is No. 9. Not no 8..

  • My copy of Op 60 from the Schott Gitarren-Archive 2 labels the piece as No. 8. I wonder what the extra piece is in the one that has it as no. 9?

Anyway, very expressive interpretation. And it appears that you've been blessed with a rather long little finger on your left hand!

  • Delicious, expecially, the slide playng,

    From F# to B, I think.

Great.Have you video about number 25?

  • Thanks a lot! Glad you like it! No, I haven't recorded nr. 25. I might later.

    Kindly,

    Per

  • Played this for my jury yesterday :)

  • you're the best sir, may i know what make of classical guitar you are playing?

  • Thank you! I am playing a Philippe Jean-Mairet from Switzerland. please visit peo-kindgren(com) for more info.

    Per

  • David,

Thanks a lot. Yes, that is a good book to start with! Do you have a teacher? If, you don't; please try to find someone. It's so important. If impossible, this is a good book to use.

Good luck!!! Playing guitar is so great!!

    Per

  • Im working on this one right now once again with ur vid Peo but wasnt it number 9? Anyways excellent perfomance saludos desde Colombia

  • Hola Juan!

Different editions have different numbers for this. I don't know wish is the right one...

    Saludos desde Copenhagen.

  • I truly endorse your comments re Peo's rendition. And yes, Iknow this piece as being no.9 of Carcassi's opus 60.I fail to see how an edition may vary in enumerating the pieces in a given collection by a composer. The Guitar Archives Schott Edition represents it as no.9 and is authoritative in my view.

  • Beautiful.

The piece is beautiful and your execution is impeccable! BRAVO!

  • Thank you overseez! Apreciated!

    Kind regards,

    Per

  • Wow! that's impeccable execution, and absolutely perfect taste in interpretation. That's what nineteenth-century guitar, in one of it's modes, is about. We get to enjoy Carcassi's italianate sensibility fully expressed by a player with the technical certainty that Carcassi demands.

Mr. Kindgren, please work on the negected Op.1 and 2 Sonatas so that we can hear what we are supposed to sound like when we play them ( or try to)).

  • Thank you so much. I am honored. I will look into op. 1 and 2.

But i am recording a CD right now and that takes all my time. So, later, OK?

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • This is my new homework. Thanks for playing with me ;-)

together it makes more fun :-)

    Kiss Sarah

  • Thank you Sarah! It is? WOW. Can you play this? Hopefully without my errors! LOL

I will write to you soon.

    Kiss,

    Peo

  • Very nice!

  • Thank you!

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • such a nice piece :))

  • Thanks! Nice to see you still listen to me!!

    Peo

  • very well played. I can tell that you really enjoy playing carcassi, as I do and it shows in the attention and care that when they are given makes his studies sound so nice. Keep it up.

  • Thank you. Yes I do. And they can sound better than one would think at the first glance at it!. LOL

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • Wow Peo,

What can I say more, the music says everything.

I'm going to put some links to your video's on Jean-Francois Delcamp his site, if you find it ok?

The whole world has to here you!

    Greetz,

    Bjorn.

  • Thanks Bjorn. Appreciated. What is that site?? But you can link everything you like!! I don't mind. Of course not!! LOL

  • Hey Peo!

I am about to try and get admitted to the conservatory for classical guitar; have to do the exam in June. You're posts of Carcassi's op. 60 have helped me a great deal in interpreting the pieces! Thank you very much.

    Jolina

  • Hello Jolina! I wish you good luck with your exam!! I bet you are going to do well! Keep playing! It's the best! And I'm happy you could use me.

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • Wauw, nice tempo! nice expression.

I played most of the 25 carcassi (opus 60) etudes in the past.

When I see you playing like this I pick them up again. I never maneged to get this piece on speed.

Since a year now I am playing again.

  • That's great to hear! Keep playing! It's the best.

    Post it when you can!

    Peo

  • Not bad..... A few bum notes and it could have me!!

    Great stuff again Peo.

    Regards

    Paul

  • Great playing! It's marked as No. 9 in my book, though.

  • Thanks! I know! It's very confusing. In some editions it's 9 and in some 8!? i don't have the facimile...

    Peo

  • Very Nice... as usual. Congratulations, thanks for sharing

  • Made me smile as i watched you play!

  • Dear Herr Peo,

    Take care,

    Julie

  • Dear Julie,

Glad you like it! Now YOU do nr. 1-7!! :))

    Peo

  • That was too cool. Make me want to learn classical guitar. Too bad I'm lazy when it comes to applying notes to my playing. I love classical guitar. Very relaxing. Do you have CDs?

  • Cool? I was sweating like a horse!! LOL Thank you!

I will record a CD this June and I hope it will be on the market during the summer.

    Peo

  • Great as always Peo,I like it :)

  • Thank you. Glad you did! Keep well,

    Peo

  • Wow! One of the most difficult studies by Carcassi, I think...

Well, I can play Study Op. 60 No. 2, 6 more and maybe I could play this study as well as you do! LOL

What?? No lefts reversed?? I thought it was "All lefts reversed"!

  • Hi! Thanks! Ah!! You saw it to the end! Well, I have to renew myself and thought No lefts... was fun. :) I don't think this is more difficult than the others. Try it! it's fun to play!

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • 5 stars! This is short but oh so sweet.

  • Thank you Amy.

    Appreciated!

    Peo

  • Excellent as alwaysmy frind i lov these studeys 555 stars

  • Excellent as always!

  • Hi ovidiov! Thanks! Any news? You know what I mean...LOL

    Friendly,

    Peo

  • Well, i don't know... but thanks anyway!! LOL

    Peo

  • I like it a lot.

    It's beautiful.

I have a book with pieces from Carcassi :-)

  • "No lefts reversed" <-- hahaha!! Good one!

I'm currently learning Matteo Carcassi's Study 7 arranged by Ben Bolt. It's hard but I'm having fun trying. When your right hand goes up past the sound hole, is that because it's part of the song or just for YOUR own style?

  • Thanks. Ah!! You saw it to the end!! LOL

I move my hand up past the soundhole to get a softer, "fuller" sound. It's not in the score.

    Keep well

    Peo

  • Wonderful interpretation, Peo. Thanks! :)

  • Beautiful! Thanks for the music! -Dennis

  • Very nice :o)
