i'm 25 and I love Otis Redding, I'm a musician and I sing a lot of his songs, just me and my guitar. Everybody always loves it, even if they don't already know his music.
I discovered Otis Redding this morning on the way to work and immediately wanted to hear more. I listen to all kinds of music and this is by far my new favorite =D Gots to love it!
oo, love this song, very soulful. I also listened to Michael Grimm's version and it's pretty spectacular, same kind of emotion but with a little more power, ha it's good to have someone in todays music industry who can sing like Otis. We need more!
i used ot dance to this song on stage -many years ago-i sure did have my audiences attention-what a killer song- im going to bug my boy friend to sing it to me-
fuck you all im 15 and i love this ! but i also love indie , anything where its just an artist and an instrument not all artificial shit ...gotta love people such as otis and al green though legends
Man, I love Otis but anyone who truly understood soul music would never say such a thing. James Brown was an inconceivably soulful man. He just had his own unique expression of that soul. Like a different color of the rainbow.
Steve Cropper is playing piano on this song, just like he did for Otis in the audition..Otis asked Steve if he would play church piano for him..They recorded the song the same day...Al Jackson Jr on drums, Duck Dunn on Bass..Booker T and the MG's band..The STAX house band..For Joyce..69-75 I will love U forever..RIP...

I'm only 19 and my mom raised me on music like Otis Redding and other great artists like Joe Cocker, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, and others. I'm proud that I was fortunate to be raised on classic music like this.
@BrennyRoss good for you and your mom!... this music will never leave your soul... hope you continue to enjoy it,,,I'm 57 and still can't get enough...
@NYChica23 I agree I was lucky enough to watch a movie called Soulsville Stax Records and WOW what a wonderful time in music.....Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes The Staple Singers and the list goes on and on.....all out of Memphis in the time of civil rights.....fascinating and watching Otis on stage....all I can say is DREAMY!!!
@BrennyRoss When I was younger my mom always used to play this sorta music but I never really thought anything of it, now I'm 17 and recently just started listening to it properly after finding some old CD's; I'm so glad I found this stuff as it sounds great but I was sorta surprised to see that other "young" people were into it.
@TheWiggles1982 Ya like I'm sure you are a brave man, coward hiding behind his computer enjoying the freedom our fallen soldiers have provided for you, anytime, any place, I`ll be there to kick your weenie ass ! ! ! can I get a witness???
They just don't make music like this anymore! I'm only 23 and I was raised on music like this! Omg such great songs and memories. My Mom and I would ride around and sing these songs to each other lol.
@JunglisticOne came over here to get a listen to the legend. Got to say you ever listened to Guy Sebastian? Otis would be proud of him, wishin they could have recorded together. Otis was THE man
amazing song, from an amazing artist, shame we have so many talentless, computer altered 'artists' nowadays, Otis was one of the greats, and definitely gone too soon. RIP
This song will be played at my wedding for my first dance.....my dad raised me on stuff like this and Etta James.....stuff with SOUL and feeling.....I hope more people can learn what that's all about by listening to this.....
"Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing"!! "Otis Redding,I bet you there was more babies make in the year this song came out then any other song that was out at that time, and it's truely missed"! this music brings me a little closer to home no matter where i am and brings back memories of my mother playing her vinyls whilst cleaning the house love it
Ever since I was 5 or 6 ( I am now 63) my mother opened our hearts and minds to different music, this song and "I've been loving you too long) always bring joyful tears to my eyes. I wish all people could just live for the now and not have hate in their hearts and minds...
This song = Sex! Sorry to be crude, but this has been my wife and I's "song" for over 12 years now. It is sexy, well written, and most importantly properly sung by one of the Greats of our time.
I'ved missed u sooow... much!!! I've named my son Curtis, it's the closest i've came 2 ur name, there's only one Otis!! I wish u were here 2 here one Ianne72 sings ur song one of the best rendition out there, no! he's white with soulfulness in his voice!! He's making u proud n utube.. I hope u wud b his guiding angel!! I hope, he'll get a record deal soon!! so he n JossStone, Fantasia Burrino, can sold out concerts!!!
