I use CPUID hardware Monitor for monitoring my temps I think its the best out, you have fan speends, temps of all your hardware, volts.. an has Value, Minimum and Max.. I've overclocked my 965be to 4.25Ghz with Watercooling with 37 Degree's idle an 55 degree's max an my room temps are usually around 25-28 (I live in Australia)
I really don't understand this. I have the same CPU 965 BE and care barely be stable over 3.8 on my overclock. So if the issue of heat is not a problem for me ( 47 idle on OC ), then why does it crash? This video may be too dramatic IMO
@alexpho Try increasing the voltage a bit, instability when overclocking is often caused by this. If it doesn't help - I've seen videos, where the overclock is stable when you increase the bus speed, not the multiplier.
47°C on idle? That's actually pretty hot IMO. My AMD Athlon II x4 620 (stock 2.6Ghz) runs 24/7 stable @ 3.25Ghz with stock voltage and I got about 45°C peak temperature! BTW My room is pretty cold most of the time, so that my CPU runs at about 24°C idle. But it should reach max. 55°C max temperature. 47°C Idle is too hot.
@alexpho you could be running a revision C2, download a program like Core Temp 1.0 and it will give you all the information you need in regards to clock speed, CPU load, individual core temperature, voltage, wattage, and what revision CPU you are using.
i would strongly consider upgrading your cooler.
my 955 BE (C3) idles at 42C and it is OC'd at 4.0Ghz. max temp under gaming conditions is 58C, i have seen it hit 62C (max temp for our series of CPU) but thats mid-summers day. roll on winter
@KamikazePanda25 depends on games and your budget. i have this cpu and it's not bad, but in compare with same priced intel cpus it delivers equal average fps but amds have bigger fps margins. for me amd cpus feel more laggy. a good combo to play current and future games like gt4, battlefield 3, starcraft 2, without fps drops in good quality would be a i5-2500k, gefore gtx 560 ti or radeon 6950, 6-8 gb ram. i wouldn't buy less bc u end up saying "i should have bought better pc" after 1 year.
Hay people i need help with something i just bought the AMD Phenom ii X2 560 BE and unlocked all fore cores, with a MSI 880gme-41 motherboard but there is no temperature reading not even in the AMD overdrive software when i unlock all fore cores, how can i fix this problem?
I have this CPU runing at 4 GHZ idle 33 C load 55 C on air, I am not going to upgrade any time soon as this cpu still giving good performance. even at 3.4 is good enough.
FUUUUUUUCK i love this CPU!! i have it myself and i am OVER SURPRISED OF THE POWER! this is a really cheap processor for its work. it is an awesome cpu.!! AMD ALL THE WAY!
I own this CPU and love it, but for those who prefer NOT using nitrogen the i5 2500k is much faster on air. MUCH faster. Let's hope Bulldozer retakes the throne.
@Kloborgg if only the phenom ii could utilize sse4 and avx ,then amd more powerful than intel,i wish that cpu architechture could be updated from the bois,,if only there were a time machine,go into the future and get a bulldozer 5 for cheap money i bet that in 30 yaers that i7 sandy brigde would be like p4's today
@rocknroll980 7 * 4 may equal 28 but that does not mean that 4 cores at 7GHz is equal to 28GHz, it just means it can run 4 threads at 7GHz. Even in a 4 threaded application it is not 28GHz nor is it anywhere as near as powerful as it would be on a single core at 28GHz.
Once you get pas about 3-3.5 ghz then there's not much difference between fast and very fast ;) there aren't practical reason for doing this, people just do it for fun and to be able to say their CPU goes up to 7 ghz.
however, considering you're the pros about this, how high would u think I can get my 965 (rev c3) with locked watercooling(h50)? atm I'm running stable 4,1 ghz at 20C idle, not over 45 fully loaded over hours.
This answers the question on which is better AMD or INTEL CRAP? AMD FTW. THE ULTIMATE GAMING PROCESSOR, INTEL IS FOR IGNORANT MENTAL PEOPLE WHO USE DELL PCS!!!!!!
@rocknroll980 Do you even realize how impractical an LN2 overclock is? Not only is it risky, time-consuming and potentially unstable, but you have to keep filling it with expensive cryogenic fluid as well. On air, Sandy Bridge overclocks quite well, and is faster at stock frequencies. Most people do not overclock at all, let alone extreme overclock. Overclocking is time-consuming and puts stress on other components as well. 7GHz is cool but completely impractical.
@rocknroll980 hell yeah dude! i had an old athlon II x2 prosessor then i got the phenom II x4 965 and it sure gives u gaming...crysis on HIGH on 1920 x 1080 with a GTS 450 graphic card :)
@NSPhysX The Best AMD Processor is a six core and around $200, and intel i7 6 core(which is intel's best) is $1,000, now, You can get a 3 GHZ AMD dual core for around $50 but only get intels shittiest processors at that price, its not about "fanboy issues" at all AMD makes BETTER Processors at a BETTER price.
@rocknroll980 AMD makes inferior processors for people with no income. Intel makes superior processors for buyers who deserve the exponential performance. Your comment that compares the lowest end processors is my direct evidence right there. You have to pay the best to have the best. Period. Unfortunately this leaves us with AMD fanboys who can't and then end up complaining about it later on after they realize their CPUs can't compare. AMD is budget; Intel leads performance. Get used to it.
@guitarguy2637 No, I use intel processors and can compare it to AMD Processors, it is not superior at all to AMD, Now Compare this $1,600 for an Intel xeon 6 core to $1,400 AMD opteron 12 core. Its not just about budget, its also about quality, aparently you havent said enough.
@guitarguy2637 you better look at the benchmarks, it really worth spending a lot more money just to buy a slightly better cpu? well if you have money to throw out of the window,intel is made for you, but i'll tell you that i like good price-quality ratios
@einarknutsen Or people who call an operating system PC. (I cant stand it when people call windows PC, PC stands for Personal Computer, on Operating system) And yeah people who spend $1,000+ on a dell or an apple Computer are pretty much the same thing as people who dont know shit about PCs.
@rocknroll980 well i wouldnt say thats the most correct answer, considering the best CPU's on the marked are intels. AMD does offer good value for money but all in all the best Intel core beats the Best AMD. don't jump to conclusions about me being an intel fanboy or anything though, i have a Phenom II 965 BE. no intels here. just sayin
@leachinfested Amd has better processors, AMD already has a 12 core opteron, and is already working on a 16 core, while Intel is yet to make a Xeon 12 core.
@rocknroll980 AMD doesnt have better processors. a quad core xeon (Intel Xeon X5550 for example) out performes a 12 core opteron (AMD Opteron 6176 SE for example). the beest thing about AMD is their value for money, but when it comes to actual architecture the intel cores are more advanced.
i do prefer AMD to be honest. they just feel better to have.
1, you have awesome english, 2, i have a 650w psu, wants to overclock to 3.8 or 4.0, im thinking of a corsair h50, liquid cooler, think i could do that with my psu, and that cooler? also, whats the best thermal grease?, or compound?
i want this board and the phenom II x4 965 black edition with a radeon hd 5770. but my problem is i dont know what ram i need. i would like the ram to be plug and play. i dont want to mess around in the bios as this will be my first build. so if someone can please tell me what ram i can use that would be fantastic. i would like it to be ddr3 and as low cost as possible while still being good ram. not sure how many gigs i need but i want to be able o play gta4 really nicely. someone help?
@wiifan62 With newer boards and this cpu, you pretty much have to mess around in the bios. It's nothing dangerous tho. I'd get ocz, corsair, or g.skill ram. Your going to want atleast DDR3 1600 ram. Only bios stuff you really need to worry about is changing the timings to what the stock says the ram usually runs at so you can get it up to 1600. Boards these days set the ram to 1333 by default, this is so you can be sure the system will start stable and give you the stability to change timings.
I use CPUID hardware Monitor for monitoring my temps I think its the best out, you have fan speends, temps of all your hardware, volts.. an has Value, Minimum and Max.. I've overclocked my 965be to 4.25Ghz with Watercooling with 37 Degree's idle an 55 degree's max an my room temps are usually around 25-28 (I live in Australia)

i want this board and the phenom II x4 965 black edition with a radeon hd 5770. but my problem is i dont know what ram i need. i would like the ram to be plug and play. i dont want to mess around in the bios as this will be my first build. so if someone can please tell me what ram i can use that would be fantastic. i would like it to be ddr3 and as low cost as possible while still being good ram. not sure how many gigs i need but i want to be able o play gta4 really nicely. someone help?

@wiifan62 With newer boards and this cpu, you pretty much have to mess around in the bios. It's nothing dangerous tho. I'd get ocz, corsair, or g.skill ram. Your going to want atleast DDR3 1600 ram. Only bios stuff you really need to worry about is changing the timings to what the stock says the ram usually runs at so you can get it up to 1600. Boards these days set the ram to 1333 by default, this is so you can be sure the system will start stable and give you the stability to change timings.

Pro processor and overclock all bottleneck by a sucky crap CRT monitor xD
UTubeLightBulb 1 year ago 25
@UTubeLightBulb CRTs have no response time against 5ms of a lcd
elfootman 1 year ago
@UTubeLightBulb How does the monitor affect the speed of the processor?
Nabstylez 11 months ago
@Nabstylez It makes games and bms look like crap xD thats about it it doesn't affect the speeds at all
UTubeLightBulb 11 months ago
@UTubeLightBulb Duh, I know, therefore you can't call it a bottleneck.. -.-

@Nabstylez Some people don't get jokes . . . -_-

@UTubeLightBulb in some aspects CRT's are better than LCD most artists prefer CRT cause the colors are more vibrant. nothing wrong with CRT's bro

@norge696
Yeah, some CRTs are great, unfortunately those are extremely uncommon and extremely expensive. This CRT is not one of them
