Ah ok! I like the way you knit (said that somewhere else). I'd like to do a tubular cast on for a brioche stitch scarf. I think it would be a good cast on for that stitch. I've seen your tubular cast on video too, and liked it a lot.
@tamarque1 "2 Color Brioche Stitch in the round - crochet cast-on and set up round" and "2 Color Brioche Stitch in the round - the pattern repeat". I don't demonstrate them English style, but the stitch is the same, it's just a matter of remembering to bring the yarn forward and back at the right times.
Wish you had commented on what you are doing as you did it. This is a great video but if you said what you were doing as you did it, it would me much more helpful.
At the end of knitting this flat, you'll have both colors of yarn on the same end ot the DPN, so which color do you use to go back in the other direction. I have to assume you then p the k stitches, but which color do you use?
I don't know what to do next... can you please post the next step, I don't know with what color to start, I've seen your video on "circular needles" but I don't know how to do it just "straight" if I want to do a scarf... please help!!!
Google "brioche stitch" and go to the first website, it has a splash page with a picture of a brioche on it. I'd provide the link, but YT won't let me. I don't plan on making another brioche stitch video, but that site is a much more comprehensive resource on brioche stitch variations than I could hope to equal.
thanks! the site was a bit more helpful... one question, lets say I just finished the row you show on your video... should I start with purple or orange? and should I purl or knit the next row, I can see so far that I need to do to rows of knit and two of purl, one with each color right?
and then what?? I don't know which color I need to start with and I followed your "in the round" video but it is not the same on plain needles... can you do another tutorial please!!!
Thanks! this helped~!

@Khamomil Well, the setup row is identical if it's worked 1 color or 2 color.

very confusing. really hate these silent videos. they are not as clear as the performer thinks. really needs a verbal explanation as they go.

@tamarque1 There's a new version with dialogue. I'd delete these old ones but some people have linked them.

@djinnj

Because of your video I can cast on brioche style. It's the best one I've found. Thanks!!!!

Thanks for posting this! Why do you double on the wrap around a few knits into it? I'm getting confused on that part. Thanks again!
babsishere1983 4 years ago
At around 41sec? It didn't wrap around the needle the first time, so I had to do it again. That's all.
