  • @bluesky14100 = ignoramus

  • dogs and people all look like they are having fun!

  • this is sick! are you sick?

  • Awesome wheels, too bad my tibetian spaniel isnt strong enough

  • oh fuck you!!

    son of a birth!!!

  • Hello Blue Sky, When you sit in the sulky, your weight lifts the tip of the shaft upwards. The harness actually lifts slightly off the dog's back. Dogs have done thousands of miles pulling dorsal shaft sulkies.

  • that is soooo bad on dogs backs! abusers!

  • My prices are in flux. I should have revised and lowered prices by the end of next week.

  • What a silly comment...

  • poor dogs. do u also whip them

  • Lookie at thm colorfull wheels :D

  • Hello Jeffersen, I have numerous videos on YouTube showing my dogs pulling sulkies, wagons, carts and bamboo poles. Benefits to humans is it is fun. Benefits to dogs are they love to run, travel, work with their owners. Dogs get fit and strong and healthy. There is a fine partnership that develops between a working dog and his owner. Daphne Lewis owner of Chalo Sulky

  • Can someone PLEASE explain to me the benefit of this?

  • @Jeffersen08 The dog gets the social interaction it needs, as well as physical and mental stimulation. Owner and dog bonding, and fun for everybody. I really don't see what WOULDN'T be a plus to it.

  • @AmberElaine0824 I can and so can the vet. If you want to social them take them to the park, let them play with other dogs. You can bond with your dog in so many ways. Here the dog is doing all the work while the owner is sitting on her/his ass. Take your dogs for a run and the plus is for the dog AND owner, not alone for the owner.

  • now put a v8 on it :DDDD

  • I use the Chalo Sulky. You can see it at "Sulky the Badlands of Georgia"

I sell sulkies at chalo sulky dot com. Yours for working dogs, Daphne Lewis

  • hi,

great clip. Which brand of dog sulky did you use if I may ask. Thank you.

  • I am having trouble posting. Please contact me Daphne Lewis.

  • I would like to build my own cart (a two dog wagon, not really a sulky) for my golden retriever and my boxer/pit bull mix to pull. I don't want it to be too big or heavy. I've been training them with my scooter, so they know how, but I need all the help I can get. I need to find cheep, but safe harnesses and a basic idea of the design. What do you suggest?

  • Thank you for the complement. I have ten videos posted of these sulkies. Search for "Daphne Lewis" or "Chalo Sulky". I also have videos of dogs pulling bamboo, carts and wagons.

Normally I hitch two dogs to my sulky because I own two dogs. I have seen photos of people with four dogs abreast and with two attached to the sulky and two up front sled dog style. Yours for working dogs, Daphne Lewis

  • Keep up the good work! I would love to see more videos of these awsome little sulkies.

How many dogs can you hitch up at a time to all of these? How long did it take you to train them? Was it easy? :)

  • @Saartje05 Working with dogs for over 18 years also makes ME an experienced dog handler. I'm sorry, but you are just further demonstrating your ingorance by insinuating that bad things only happen in America. LOL. Where are you, Europe? Of course you would cry abuse over happy dogs being worked and having fun. Do you also consider it abuse to for a dog to do herding trials or ground-dog trials? Give me a break.

Yeah, those miserable dogs in the video sure look abused [/sarcasm]

  • Let me guess... you identify with the PETA Terrorist Organization? There's nothing abusive about working. My guess is you're one of those people that thing animals are people or something equally bizarre and WRONG.

  • @Nigh1shad3 There's a huge gap between seeing an animal as a human and seeing humans treating animals badly. Sadly people who treat their animals like shit see want to see it and even claim they love the animal.

  • My dogs don't go over 11 lbs in weight, lol, I sure can't wait until I can have a Weimaraner and/or Doberman or Beauceron to do this with!

  • @Nigh1shad3 Why, you love to abuse them?

  • @Saartje05 Actually, if this is considered abuse, then yes, I would gladly abuse every dog I know. LOL

  • @Nigh1shad3 You're an American, of course you would. You people grow up abusing eachother, others and animals. So yes, I guess you would gladly abuse every dog you know.

  • @Saartje05 LOL, okay. Just be careful, as your ignorance is showing.

  • @Nigh1shad3 Working with dogs for over twelve years makes me an experienced dog handler. This is abuse. Of course you don't want to see that, it's your toy. The ignorant one is you. And the rest? Watch the news and see what we see every day again. Americans being murdered, Americans starting wars, Americans torturing animals and calling it fun. Who's ignorant here?

  • @Saartje05 WTF do you know about how Americans grow up? Animal abuse happens EVERYWHERE. Abuse by other people happens EVERYWHERE. This is not abuse.

  • @RayvenMoon84 1. I know. 2. That's no excuse. 3. Yes it is.

  • @Saartje05 1. No, you apparently don't, otherwise you wouldn't continue to wallow in your own ignorance. 2. You're right, it's not an excuse, because it's true. America is not the only place in the world that has a few individuals that abuse their rights, the rights of people, and the rights of animals. 3. No, this is not abuse. Those animals body language is very happy and relaxed. They are working, which is what they were bred to do, and they are obviously enjoying every second of it.

  • Hello Wolf, Gosh, "here" must be England? These photos were taken at a park in Seattle WA. From my point of view keeping a dog cooped up in a back yard is less humane than allowing that same dog to run and pull a sulky. Dogs love to run. Daphne Lewis

  • Awesome!

  • This is so illegal here. You won't get far using a dog for this. Only malamutes and huskies in a team are allowed to pull a cart, but you need a permit. Letting one dog pull a cart imo is abuse. It's been forbidden here for more than hundred years. And not without a reason.

  • @Saartje05

How in the world is this abuse? The dogs in the video are trotting with their ears up, having a great time! Brett and Rosie have been trained well and clearly enjoy it!

I bought a cart from Chalo Sulky for my Collie, I have videos of him on my channel... The sulky is easy to pull and he likes most to walk around my neighborhood at an easy pace, just taking in the surroundings. He is not pressured or made to do anything against his will. Dogs love to pull!

  • @Lilytb4 ONE dog in front of a cart? At least be so decent to put two of them in front of it. Or buy a pony. And yes, I consider this abuse. The dog may not know it but in the long run this will damage him. That's why it's been illegal for a long time here already. Take them for a run in the forest, I'm sure they'll enjoy that a lot more.

  • @Saartje05

There is absolutely no factual information stating that one dog pulling a cart, as long as they are over 50 pounds and old enough, will be damaged from carting that you could make your assumption on.

  • @Lilytb4 There is, that's why it's forbidden here. It's that simple. But probably too difficult for you. Also you just don't give a shit as long as they don't take away your toy.

  • @Saartje05 How will it damage them?...by getting them off the couch and making them exercise?

  • @AmberElaine0824 So you think there's nothing between the couch and driving them? that's sad. How can you damage them? Too heavy, too hot, too much. ETc.

  • @AmberElaine0824 And if you want to drive them then at least have the decency having TWO dogs pulling the sulky instead of one. Or buy a pony. Btw, what is shown on the video is illegal here. Only huskies or malamutes, dogs that are bred to pull are allowed. In a team.

  • One dog can easily pull one person on flat pavement as shown here. Besides we did not go very far.

  • One dog for one person ? C.R.A.Z.Y.

  • @sleddog6206 I agree.

  • Ahh shucks, that daughter is also such a warm friend.

    Daphne

  • we love this video, please make more!!!!!! we are here with your daughter Renee, and now we know why she is so adventurous.

  • I don't go to the snow where I live but many chinook owners do sled with their dogs, especially the ones in New England. If you go to the Chinook web site you will see photos of chinooks hooked to sleds. Daphne Lewis

  • I just think this is the greatest invention for dogs and their owners! I know the idea is not completely new, since people have trained sled dogs with wheeled rigs, but the lightweight, bicycle-wheeled sulky is so cool. I would love to have a Chinook someday. Do you ever take your Chinooks mushing in the snow with a sled?

  • Greatest invention for maybe the dog's owners maybe, but not sure the dogs would feel the same way having to pull someone over weight on a cart & in summer at that.

  • Those carts practically roll by themselves, just like bikes on a flat road. and it's rarely that hot in Seattle, especially right on the water. The dogs are Chinooks, a sled dog breed, pretty much adapted to trot like this all day, similar to what wolves do in the wild. Of course anyone could abuse something like this, but I think most of these people have great relationships with their dogs and their dogs are happier for getting out and running. I'd be the first to cry foul if it looked cruel!

  • I should post more. I sell the sulkies and posting is good (well maybe...) marketing.

Yours for working dogs, Daphne Lewis

  • thanks for posting this great idea.

  • Aww man I want cool wheels like that!
