It's a human's natural instinct to judge based by appearance in means of finding a healthy mate ~ I don't think he's intending to mate with these people, just meet them and see them for who they are like nobody else will. I was at a book store yesterday and decided to grab a book and have some coffee as most book stores have coffee shops inside. I actually had my Motley Crue T-shirt on that day so I had decided to look for anything by Nikki Sixx and I found This is gonna hurt. So I found a table,sat down with my Frappuccino and I began to read..I couldnt put the book down,I was lost in it. Nikki can really see things that others cant or wont. It made me feel good to know that he sees beauty where others cant see

Nikki Sixx is so smart and has a gift for opening people's eyes. He did it with the Heroin Diaries, and now he did it with This is Gonna Hurt. There aren't many books that can change someone's world view, but both of his have done exactly that, at least for me. I hope he writes more.

I've enjoyed classic rock my whole life from as far as I can remember, I'll be 25 years old in July. But no other group or artist has reached out or put themselves out there like Sixx: A.M. and Mr. Sixx did. I feel the trials, the judgments, and I've also felt the overcoming of things. No other group has done that and I am very grateful to be a fan of Sixx: A.M. These people are truly inspirational.

the book, TIGH was incredible! I could elate to many of the things Nikki talked about, and, some of the photos brought back a childhood memory for me, as well-- don't ask me how the photos triggered it, but, certain ones did-- the bit he wrote about his mom dragging him away , telling him not to stare--I'd been through that too, but, I was looking at what I always looked at to this day-- his eyes-- NOT his "handicap" ... I still look to the eyes first, talk , then notice the "skin" or body...
