  • @anakin808 He was joking with his sister. As far as I know Adora is his only sister

  • Orko is a character you liked as a kid, but wish a long, horrible, painful death on as an adult.

  • @brinpol Orko = Snarf = Ja Ja Binks

Ja Ja binks was purely introduced for kids to "enjoy" and adults to despise

  • @ojideagu It's Jar Jar, not "Ja Ja," and you might just as well say that Gabby Hayes was put into Westerns for the adults in the audience to hate, since they both serve the same function, namely that of clumsy but good-hearted comic relief. Open-minded, tolerant audience members will not despise other characters just because they aren't perfect.

Besides, it's well-proven that "fans" who hate characters like the ones you mentioned, do so because they see too much of themselves in them.

  • @brinpol I don't get that. I still like everyone and everything I liked as a child. Why change? It doesn't make sense.

  • @MaskedMan66 Well, good for you, but Orko is still annoying.

  • @brinpol To easily annoyed people, I suppose. But I was sort of asking for an explanation to this weird notion of backlashing against what you liked as a child. Any offers?

  • @MaskedMan66 Because you sometimes have different tastes as an adult? Part of the growing up process? Also, why do you even care? I didn't comment on a post of yours, or a video of yours, so...again, what's it to you?

  • I love it that Adam wears tights and a pink shirt, then turns into He-man who kinda looks like he's into wearing bondage gear with those huge muscles.

  • @Memista, the mermaid, parle francis??

  • Swift reminds me of Final Fantacy

  • @mydesirescometrue

    hehe I meant Orco

  • over at the MSN website, they had different TV Holiday Specials, and asked which one would most describe the person watching that special, and which character FROM that Special they would be depicted as. If this Special, and Skeletor were on that list, I would be... well, surprised

  • I think Hordak is the mostbass dude in the MOTU galaxy and Skeletor is cool too as well as Horde-Prime.

  • Where is the one where HE-MAN guest stars on SHE-RA, and they meet Sweet Bee in space, where Skeletor, and Hordak want 10,000 bee slavesto attack Horde Prime?

  • @mom369222 If you're asking for the title, it's "Sweet Bee's Home."

  • * crashed landed on earth *

  • I guess Mermista is from the French part of Etheria.

  • @MargarettaL She was given that accent in honor of Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

  • Just so you know if Swift wind was a female, why did his mate Star give birth in the Episode Swifty's baby. This means there may have been a mistake in the trivia you saw. I'm not trying to get into an argument, I got my information from He-Man.org

  • @Adora2008 Swift Wind is 100% male, I don't know who the hell was putting info saying it's female.

  • @ojideagu I heard that too but I didn`t say He was a female I said IF HE WAS but I know he`s a male. I watched the show for years. I have my sources

  • @Adora2008 There must have been. I know all about Swifty's wife and foal by now, and I've already made it up with the other person who was talking about it.

  • Okay then.

  • i like dis show

  • @anakin808 No, I think it's just the old gag about "You're my favorite (fill in the blank)" specifically because they're the only one.

  • This would be a good team up with He-Man-She-Ra and Superman and Wonder Woman from the Superfriends cartoons.

  • @DarthSideous63 Superman did travel to Eternia when DC briefly had the comic book rights to He-Man.

  • why, exactly, is a mermaid on Etheria talking like she's from France?!

  • @magicalgirl Why do most Eternians and Etherians speak in American accents? For that matter\, why do they speak English at all?

  • @magicalgirl The actual answer to your question is that Mermista has a French accent in honor of Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

  • @magicalgirl Why do all the other characters on Etheria have American accents?

  • I can remember being bout 14 and watching this and so many good old cartoons and Television.. Today's programs just dont equal out..

  • It's just sitting there in the bottom of the lake. We've never needed it before, because what use would we have for an interplanetary transporter? Even though we had the knowledge to build it, finding batteries was just too much work.

  • Weird form of teleportation, a crystal not even on your own planet required. Would be more logical, umm, Warp? Works in Startrek. Anti-matter, time space distortion. Even works on paper in RL physics. What about VASIMR? Will be faster than normal rockets once developed in afew years. Oh wait, VASIMR was not around then, nor would any kids even know what anti-matter is nor quantum physics, or what a Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket was, before it even existed, lol

  • @forwardbias I don't think the tech on Eternia is quite up to the UFP's standards.

  • Why would you make a transporter device that only works when powered by a crystal you cannot find on the planet?!

  • @limbdarkening Because that's the ONLY way it would work; it'd be useless otherwise. Happens all the time in sci-fi.

  • @limbdarkening Consider "Star Trek"; warp drive runs on dilithium crystals, but they can only be found on certain planets, which do not include Earth or Vulcan.

  • When I was a kid, Orco in the snow on 1:02 was scary to me. I think it's the only time you see him with a mouth, despite it being a snowman face.

  • Shocking, Mattel acknowledge the birth of Jesus Christ. He's the true master of the universe. Then again, this cartoon was fun fiction and I leave it up to parents to make that call.

  • Lmao! I love 80's stuff brings back some great memories(and cravins of cereal LMAO!)

  • @Vinconex Also Uh wtf is up with you tube this isnt even in HD and it takes forever to buffer the show :/

  • Take a look at 3:52, that is someone's bank account info on the screen as well as phone numbers! I don't know what a few of the numbers mean, it might be code for something else. There is also a zip code up there as well. This is a prank that I doubt anyone picked up on back in the day as VHS was still not in every house. All the info is probably useless today but in the age of identity theft this is pretty bad!

  • @GotKilt TV programmes and films have many times put real phone numbers by accident and caused a flood of contacts

  • hrm. I forgot why I thought the '80s sucked. It was all this god damned post morbid hippie PC B.S with he fool being a stinky pinky baking gingerbead pies when his sword was low on juice and "Adora" being the man of the bunch!

that and them ruffled shirtz and gaye guy jean/ITT tech comercials.

  • @fucheduck What are you even talking about? Your language bears a close resemblance to English, but if it is, your command of it seems a trifle lacking.

  • Beast monster?

    Kinda redundant don't you think?

Btw I always thought Adora looked hotter than She-Ra.

  • @Yourwolf1976 They had to call it something.

I expect it was the hot pants.

  • Lolz from nostalgiacritic

  • @Dynaman21 What are you talking about?

  • @MaskedMan66 Look up "Nostalgia Critic He-Man and She-Ra". All will be answered, and people will wonder why Swift Wind sounds like a chain smoker.

  • @Dynaman21 Nostalgia Critic sounds like a basket case, quite frankly, so I won't bother reading any more of his twaddle that you've already put up here.

And as for Swift Wind, she's a horse, that's all. What sort of a voice would you expect a horse to speak with?

  • @MaskedMan66 Actually I believe swift wind is a flying unicorn, and Spirit is a horse.

  • @Adora2008 I was speaking in generalities; horse, unicorn, pegasus are all much of a muchness. But you make a point: did she ever speak in her "civilian" identity?

  • @MaskedMan66 Swifty wind for one thing is a HE. Yes, Spirt, his alter ego as a horse did speak once in awhile if that is what you're refering to. And just so you know Swift wind is known as a flying unicorn or pentecorn (spelt that wrong) but its aflying horse with wings. A unicorn or from the imformation I have does not have wings ussually. These beings are very rare. If you want an eps where he speaks try lookee lends a hand, where Adora and Spirt pick apples.

  • @Adora2008 I'm sorry to contradict you, but I've seen a DVD set of the She-Ra series which is packed with all sorts of trivia, including the odd fact that, despite being played by Lou Scheimer, Swift Wind is, in fact, a mare. And thank you for the clarification; I knew Cringer spoke both as himself and Battle Cat, but I wasn't sure about Spirit.

The Unisus, a.k.a. the Pegacorn, is a relatively recent creature, I think; the only other one I know of was on "Sailor Moon."

  • @MaskedMan66 Quote from Wikipedia "Swift Wind is a fictional character in the animated television series She-Ra: Princess of Power. He is the Winged Unicorn of She-Ra"

  • @ojideagu Quote from me: "I've seen a DVD set of the She-Ra series which is packed with all sorts of trivia, including the odd fact that, despite being played by Lou Scheimer, Swift Wind is, in fact, a mare."

So who are you going to believe, Wikipedia (notorious for getting facts wrong) or Filmation (the people who created Spirit/Swift Wind)?

  • @MaskedMan66 LOOK UP EPISODE 28 CALLED: "Swifty's Baby"

And stop making a fool of yourself. Star Wind is his mate, a pregnant mare.

  • @ojideagu Now, now, there's no need to be ungracious.

  • @MaskedMan66 Swift Wind is male

  • @ojideagu The She-Ra DVD set says otherwise.

  • @MaskedMan66 Errr Swift Wind becomes a father and has a mate called STAR WIND in one of the last episodes. Please explain to me how a female can do that? Whoever said he was a mare is utterly wrong.

  • @ojideagu I confess I had not heard of that; I only know what I read in the trivia notes on the DVD. It may well be that initially the character was meant to be a mare, but some writer decided to give her a sex change; as you say, it was toward the end of the series. To be sure, in the episodes I've seen, they do tend to avoid pronouns where Swifty's concerned.

In any case, I strike my colors.

Incidentally, what was their foal's name?

  • @MaskedMan66 I never saw the episode, I just read about it. I don't think it's on youtube. So I don't know the foals name etc. Also Swifty has a male deep voice, so I just assumed it's obvious it's male.

    Anyway I'm not normally rude.

  • @ojideagu That's what was so odd when it was assumed that Spirit was a mare; the fact that a man was playing the part, but then again, Lou Scheimer played hundreds of roles throughout his career, one or two of them female.

Nobody usually is, and I don't bear you any ill will. Shall we be friends? :-)

  • @MaskedMan66 lol ok. The only thing I really liked from She-ra were the baddies, who were also part of the He-Man toy line.

  • @ojideagu Hordak and his cronies seemed a bit more inept than Skeletor and his gang; if it wasn't for force of numbers, I reckon they would have been defeated easily. They were certainly more comical; I loved Scorpia's Bronx accent.

And I always wondered why Mantenna, having four legs, only had one pair of boots...

  • @MaskedMan66 LOL I had the toys. They would have been in He-man but it was cancelled. They did seem more comical. Even Hordak is a buffoon. However the male goodies are feminised with strange clothing or given weak sub-ordinate roles. MY favourite baddies toys were Leech and Mantenna and the robot version.

They were in the He-man mini comics at least.

But good point about the boots lol

  • @ojideagu It's not difficult to see why Skeletor opted to leave Hordak's service. Shadow Weaver is the only member of that crew who gets my respect.

I'm guessing you're referring to Bow; I don't see why a man can't wear a heart on his chest. Some people have cast aspersions on him for his mustache, but he was modeled on Errol Flynn, one of the greatest swashbucklers who ever lived.

Maybe one pair was all Mantenna could afford on the lousy wages Hordak paid him.

  • @MaskedMan66 Of all the characters, why is the man wearing the heart? The women don't. I just feel it was an attempt to feminise and emasculate the male character like a Care bear! Why can't they make him at least wear a masculine outfit. You don't see male superheros wearing hearts on their uniform lol

By the way I'm half Nigerian.

  • @ojideagu Actually, there's a chap called Jack of Hearts, a Marvel Comics character who was with the Avengers for a while (then again, who wasn't?). He had a heart around his left eye and hearts on his collar and boots. Both sexes have hearts, so it shouldn't be considered unmanly to wear heart shapes.

Bow did seem to be there for comic relief a lot of the time (hard to tell sometimes if he was Kowl's foil or vice versa), to be sure, but he was never effeminate.

    (continued)

  • @MaskedMan66 I'm half English white on my mums side too lol I've not really seen Nigerian men or women wearing much pink, but I'm not sure if it's seen as feminine or not par se. Although women do wear brighter and more colourful clothes than men generally as do most women in all cultures. My dad doesn't walk about in Pink anyway ;) I'll find out ha.

I've not seen the jack of hearts. Although I couldn't imagine he-man with a heart on his armour lol.

  • @ojideagu I'm just telling you what my friend told me. :-) And to be sure, there are men who wear pink dress shirts, though they (jokingly) insist that the color is "salmon."

Jack of Hearts was originally a man on borrowed time, as he had cancer which was accelerated whenever he used his powers. I guess he was cured at some point, though, because he's still around.

    And half-alien, so I hear.

  • @ojideagu Kewl, what's your other half? :-)

This is about my comment regarding men wearing pink, I take it?

I know a Nigerian priest who came over here about eight years ago. He wore pink shirts until one of his parishioners told him that men (supposedly) don't wear pink here (unless they call it "salmon"). He was surprised about that!

  • @MaskedMan66 Star Wind his mate is pregnant so Hordak captures her. Go and look up the episode with your own eyes instead of believing a false DVD facts. Explain to me how Swift Wind can have a pregnant mate if it's a mare?

    You're making yourself sound foolish.

  • @ojideagu And you're making yourself sound arch. I have admitted my mistake and apologized, now kindly accept it like a grownup.

  • @MaskedMan66 I'm not even a She-ra fan at all I was into He-man as a kid, but I just get annoyed when people pig headedly state miss information without researching other sources!

So I'm just presenting some facts, and others have tried to do similar.

  • This show is awesome! I love Christmas.

  • I suppose He-man isnt the show for muslims lol

  • quick! Dissolve to something else! We have to keep religion out of this as much as possible!

  • "It's a robot!"

Really? I thought it was a puppy.

  • @Ishtarru It's a robot puppy.

  • "Just be sure nothing happens to YOU--you're my favorite sister."

Adam...she's your ONLY (really hot) sister, you idiot. lol

  • "She's your ONLY sister..."

    That we know about. ;)

  • 2:29

Yeah, that sounds great, maybe you have a cell phone to have us call someone to help us get out of the forest. Oh, by the way... WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU???!!!

From the Nostalgia Critic review of the He-Man Christmas Special!

  • @OrangeRatchet09 Tell the Nostalgia Critic that cell phones hadn't been invented yet, and that children are more accepting of unusual people than "adults" are.

  • @MaskedMan66 I would point out the names Dorothy Gale and Lucy Pevensie as examples.

  • 3 big robots pop out of the ground to kick her ass and all she does is chit chat, run you fool!

  • Okay let me get this straight Queen Marlana is from Earth and not Eternia? WOW thats news i missed this one why was it not carried over to the new one??hmmm interesting very much so..cool

  • My friend, you can see how Queen Marlena came to earth in a couple of He-Man episodes. You can see it happen in Episode #6, Teela's Quest and in Episode #85, The Rainbow Warrior. Oh and you can see how she met King Randor in Episode #85 as well.

  • Marlena came FROM Earth not TO Earth.

  • These kids cannot tell the story of Christmas. Have Linus show up to do it right :p

  • yeah I know

    =P

    =)

  • beastmonster? um...two words for the same thing isnt it?

  • No, not really. A 'beast' is just an animal that isn't human. A squirrel is a beast. A 'beastmonster' would be any monster that resembled a non-human animal. A vampire, for example, isn't a beastmonster because it doesn't resemble a beast, unless it turns into a bat. A werewolf is a beastmonster though. A mummy or a zombie isn't, unless it's a like a zombie shark or something.. That would be pretty rad.

  • Thanks for posting this. It reminds me of the time my dad and I were at the store, and I snuck this into our shopping cart when he wasn't looking. Brings back memories!

  • It's good, but it's no G I Joe feature movie. I had to buy a second copy of that because I watched it too much. Those spores that turn people into mutants still creep me out.

  • I've got this recorded on tape somewhere in my basement. What an absolute classic!

  • 1980's....COME BAAAAACK!!!! (only for the cartoons that is, lol)

  • What?! How dare you deny the awesomeness of Hair Metal?!

  • 1:29 How about magic missile!

  • "Beast monster?" Isn't that kind of redundant?

  • Beat me to it. I also don't see why we need to see an explanation of what we already know told to Orko. Questionable writing, but the campiness is part of the charm to these shows.

  • this brings back memories thanks

  • Incredible memories. I just need secret powers to bring me back to these times!

  • Take me with you, please. I will give you my addess to come and pick me up. It is 555 gettin' old lane

  • Lana Beeson who voiced Alicia was also the voice of Twinkle in Filmation's "Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night", does anyone remembers that one?

  • I do.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I never saw it, but I remember the ads.
