"2x2" channel has made a decision to remove SP and other 11 series in question from the air starting 22.09.08, until things get clearer.

It is highly possible that on 17th of october the channel will be closed forever (17th is the day when they need to prolong their broadcasting license and it`s 90% they won`t get it). People are signing petitions and organize demonstrations in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, but still nothing has come out of it.

I agree that south park corrupts youth but that doesn't mean that it should be taken off the air. Parents should learn to control their kids. If they can learn to control them mature people will be able to laugh at more of south park's great episodes and the youth won't become corrupt from it.

It's about proposal to ban south park. You see, in Russia now South Park is broadcasted by a tv channel named "2x2". First, there were cartoons "Happy tree friends" and "big Jeff" on it's broadcast that were banned. Now, in government there is a proposal to ban South Park too. There are many south park fans in Russia. People on video are calling for "bread and cartoons", they rallied against banning of the cartoon.

Actually, it's all about the fact that some channels want to steal frequency from "2x2" and give bribes to the right people in government to close the channel. South park was broadcasted by two other channels in Russia "MTV" and "Ren-tv", but nobody cared about it, no one was "insulted" and government wasn't "concerned".
