Great song, but this band could'nt have understood what was going on in the 80's, stylewise. They looks like its still 1969 and they're playing at Woodstock :))
I used to watch Steve in a band called no man,s band with Pete Nelson on keyboards I can't remember the names of the bass player & drummer at the Battersea Fair and the Two Brewers in Clapham. They did a great version of Stevie Wonders superstition and a comedy song called 'I won't go hunting with you Jake but I'll come chasing women' They were totally awesome!
I have very fond memories of Steve from the Half Moon days. It was always the highlight of my week to go and see him on a Sunday lunchtime. Incredibly versatile musician. He could play anything on the guitar.
I went to school with Steve Waller(William Penn, Herne Hill 1968-1973) He was a fifth former back then. I knew Steve really well and jammed with him...he was GREAT!
@adeblair I used to get the train up from Brighton and see Steve play in a pub in Camberwell, London. Can't remember the exact name, but it was either the Father (or Mother) Redcap.Loved his version of George Formby's 'When I'm Cleaning Windows'!
@adeblair I did too. He came out to Dubai for a few months as part of the Highland Lodge resident band DeSoto. He was a fantastic guy, a musical master and one I was proud to know.

So many Waller stories - yes he used to play at the Crockets in the Oval with the guy from Gonzales, Gordon Hunt
My all time story concerns his puppets, Zippy & George; suffice it to say he was once worse for wear and forgot which one was which, priceless!
